stony
http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-6264514049701182371&q=r31+rb26 I posted this a long time ago but i cant find it I came across it today and noticed something that didnt seem right 8:56 @ 137 MPH:burnout: Should the MPH be alot higher for that kind of ET? dr_hunt
Something about that video doesn't ring true. It didn't launch that hard or rpm like it did in the burnout. It might be that the time was the 1/8th not the 1/4.
veritech-z
Might have been a trick of the perspective, but it didn't look long enough to be a full quarter mile to me either...
roninjiro
looked like an 1/8 to me, but that 8.56 must be something else
dr_hunt
8.56 should be in the 160 to 175 mph range. No way with that soft of a launch IMO.
stony
Hmmm well heathcote is a 1/4 track in austrailia. is there such thing as 1000ft track? It for sure dosnt calculate in any of the ET calculators. its off by about 20 mph atleast
slownrusty
That R31 looked pretty weird with the tubs as it was gliding down the track!
Garrett76Zt
you're right it didnt seem like it was a full quarter, but theres also NO chance that car is running 8's in the 1/8 mile. Weird.
jnjdragracing
I agree, probably the track is not long enough for 1/4 so they run the 1000 mark which would make since to me.. John
stony
Ok here we go same track differnt car Visually much faster but slower time and much higher MPH. http://www.exvitermini.com/movies/899run.mpg The r31 had to be running on a shorter track or something
datsun dave
Are they blocks at the end of the track ? Would not like my brakes to fade
ZDrifter
I dont know about the times seems like he ran shorter but the difference is in the tires. See the difference in size, he may be able to burn out with huge slicks like that but definitly cant turn em fast enough down the track, i bet if you saw that r31 with the same tire size as the r33 you would see a huge difference. Also the gearing is a huge difference between the cars. thats my input
cheftrd
Looked like a good launch to me. A Powerglide's not going to hit like a manual. 1.2" 60' time isn't too shabby. That car's pretty famous. It runs 8's. Maybe something was wrong with the board. He showed 120 and change and 5's to the eighth mile. Guest daewoo
Looked like a good launch to me. Looks like it might be a problem with the video compression. Heathcote is definately a 1/4 Mile track, whatever a mile is .
