Guest TeamNissan
I don't even know what else to say lol. busa engines in 240's 150lbs of tq AFTER a complicated swap being acceptable. Its not a v8 having nothing to do with this thread. Ron is eating popcorn. I'm not trying to be a jerk, I'm really not. How about a destroked vh41de with 180 degree headers and home made itbs. Maybe from a busa? . I bet that would fill the requirements.
Tombarace14
now that sounds tasty!!
Guest TeamNissan
Ya but he suggested the reg busa engine then just mentioned the hartley. Thats really what got me started. I cant imagine what set of goals would justify throwing a busa engine in a z.
unbreakable
has any one ever heard of scoot sports 4 rotor engine now that exotic its a four rotor non turbo , with the power equivalent to a v12, if you want to see it go to you tube and search 4 rotor you wont be disapointed

I bet that would fill the requirements. Hmm.. destroked VH41DE. Hmm.. Well, someone else already beat you to that exact idea and they proved it to be quite a successful power plant. It is a destroked Infiniti VH/VK, But instead of 180 degree headers, they chose to build it with a 180 degree crank! 650 HP, screaming at 10,700 RPM with that oh sought after exotic BRAAP exhaust note.. Stick that in your pipe and smoke it… Better yet! Stick that in your Z and smoke the tires… The Infiniti VRH35ADE…
proxlamus©
If the LSx series motor.. had an option for a flat plane crank.. i would be thrilled. now to call around and see who makes the cranks for em! Group buy anyone? im sure hundreds would be interested in other forums and LSx groups

bjhines
This is BADASSSSSSS BMW race V-8.. I think it sounds like a FORD.... http://youtube.com/watch?v=OH765I6XCqs Here is the same Judd V-8 in a Merc. http://youtube.com/watch?v=rU9mQ7z5JVQ IN CAR... what more to say... http://youtube.com/watch?v=OH765I6XCqs This is what I think of when someone says High revving baddass V-8 sound.... everything else can just suck and blow. ... JustinOlson
Flat Plane Crankshafts have vibration troubles when the displacement gets fairly large.(above 4L-4.5L). Balancing shafts would be necassary to make it work properly from what I've read. There is a good thread here about them: http://speedtalk.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=5558&highlight=180+crank+vibration Regards, Justin
Guest TeamNissan
I think going above 4.5 would kind of ruin it but thats just me. I think the beamer 3 liter v8 is a contender but they have that Nikasil problem. WHEN I do it for myself I'm thinking maybe 3.0 or smaller, dohc, good damper, cams and a home grown 180% headers. Idk it wont be for a LONG time so I'm sure I will learn alot and change my mind 100 times but right now that seems like a good route to a high reving exotic sounding v8 lol. bjhines
Soooo... What kind of V-8 madness is this??? Listen to the passby full throttle at 0:23 seconds.... That is the badest sounding highrevving engine I have ever heard recorded. The thing has a radical sounding missfire in low gears... I assume that is the traction control computer missfiring alternate cylinders. The missfire at 0:31 as he pulls out of the turn gives me shivers... A Wookie getting castrated... or the old-school Tarzan's yell as he swung from the branch... ???
jt1
That's awfully high pitched for a V8. I bet it's got 180 headers on it. Sounds wicked. jt
bjhines
I think this is an L-6 or a V-12 but it is beautiful madness in more ways than one. http://youtube.com/watch?v=Rq1bQGUqisU

bjhines
How about some glowing headers!!!!! Or how about a MUSICAL engine note... so to speak... If you like the SOUND of a V-8 then BEAT THIS! and NO 180 degree headers either... We are the Champions!
Administrators BRAAP Posted June 27, 2007 Administrators Share Posted June 27, 2007 I think this is an L-6 or a V-12 but it is beautiful madness in more ways than one. http://youtube.com/watch?v=Rq1bQGUqisU Definitely either an F-1 or Indy power plant. For anyone wanting to know the real definition of scary fast or the more aptly termed stupid fast, that video is a great example.. Top Secret
Anyone ever think of destroking the hell out of a ford v10? They are so cheap and easy to use.... Hmm, that's a good idea. The V10 triton series right? Those motors are everywhere, plus I think they can mount right up to C6/C4 transmissions. Maybe even a T-5. Administrators BRAAP Posted July 2, 2007 Administrators Share Posted July 2, 2007 This sort of follows the theme of this thread. Motorcycle powered cars. (Super bikes have the exotic exhaust note we are after, right?) Lots of cool wicked quick cars and links.. http://thekneeslider.com/motorcycle-powered-cars/
Administrators BRAAP Posted July 2, 2007 Administrators Share Posted July 2, 2007 This is one of my favorites. Renault F-1 engine on the engine dyno simulating the car being driven around the Italian circuit, Monza. The mixture cloud standoff from the reversion is just cool.
