cygnusx1
I just got the following email from NASA. I am all for it. We need REAL racing on TV. Pass this along. "Dear NASA Fan, You are receiving this email because your email address is in NASA’s national database. We very rarely email everyone in the database on a national level, but there is some very important news. A new all-racing network channel is about to launch in 2008. It will feature many forms of racing. NASA will have at least 10 hours of 1st-run programming (plus reruns) during 2008. This means that you and/ or your race could be shown on this network (even HPDE will be featured!). However, new networks such as this need help to show that the service provider would gain subscribers. Please take 30 seconds to clink on the link found on this page http://www.theracingnetwork.com, and enter your email address. There is no obligation; this is merely help to get this network on the air. Your email address will not be sold or given out. I hope you can help; and thank you for the understanding regarding this rare emailing. This will not be a regular thing. Sincerely, Jerry Kunzman Executive Director"

Sparks280zt
I know NASCAR is so lame, I mean they are only making 800hp on some old technology and race within a few inches of each other. And these guys actually work a clutch, no paddle shifing here, man what idiots! And those stupid restrictor plates, whats with those?!?! Fully body cars racing 185mph+ within a few inches, idiots I tell you! Gotta give NASCAR credit where credit is due. End rant.
cygnusx1
OK but do we need 115 shows "about" NASCAR on TV? I think I watched one guy explain what a NASCAR coil spring does for an hour this weekend. I ended up dumber than I already am.

ckelly78z
Man, I would love to watch more rallying, grassroots drag racing, and road course venues. I'm a NASCAR fan because the drivers are so accessible, the cars have a familiar look, they sound great, and all the other reasons that "Sparks" listed I could care less to see drifting, F1, or "pinks" style reality shows but hope this new channel shows all of it for those who do want it. As far as the complaint about NASCAR shows, I have to agree that any sport is over analyzed to the point of being rediculous......on that note, shut the TV off and live life, don't watch it. cygnusx1
Yeah let's support this channel. They are going to have a tough time as it is. Mainly because it's tough to pay for airtime when you don't have a celebrity regular to sell products like NASCAR has. I like to believe that we are the type of car people that look past the hype and look for smoke, rubber, oil, and gas, types of motor events. I don't care if Shaq is driving or Farmer John G. Brown. I just want some good, racing that I can relate to, learn from, and be impressed by. Whatever it is, I don't want my driver thanking "Mrs. Butterworth" for her support or Viagra sponsored donuts in victory lane! Come On! Pete84
My beef with NASCAR is how little variance there is. The Car of Tomorrow has made them all the same - compare that to F1 where the designs are out of this world! Loosen up the rule book and allow some tech and I'd be much more interested. And get more than 2 road coarses. Sure how that race channel does well, just might be a reason to get some sort of TV programming
woldson
I am one of those service providers. This looks lagit, googled it, did not find trn except for trinity. I think it is a good idea and would do well even with speed channel in our line up and I hate espn, it just ripping you guys off. Just dont want to give out my email unless its for real.
