boardkid280z
That's quite a rollcage, are you entering a destruction derby or something ? j/k Anyways, if it's going to be a track car I wouldn't put anything there unless necessary to save weight. I'm sorry I don't know if you have posted before what the general purpose is going to be of this vehicle. You mention you want it to show-car-ish when done. I assume it won't be a show car then, but you do want it to look nice. Will it be a daily driver? Maybe a weekend warrior/autoX toy? Letting us know what the intent is for your car would help us give suggestions, also what are the dimensions for that volume?

SteelToad
It looks like a nice, easily accessible location to put a built in fire extinguisher canister. You could reach it from the inside, or somebody could reach it from the passenger window.

Dan Juday
Grocery bags fit there just perfect. The cage keeps the cantalopes from rolling all over in the car in high G corners.

Careless
Grocery bags fit there just perfect. The cage keeps the cantalopes from rolling all over in the car in high G corners. I'd prefer a pair of cantalopes in the passenger seat.
