primadonna z
I have had a different deck lid with the standard MSA whaletail painted for the Primadonna for some time now. I have just never got around to mounting it. Well this weekend was the "Festival of Speed" here in St. Petersburg and I thought is was as good a time as any for a personality change. Fun thing is, about 10 minutes and 6 bolts, it's a different car.

primadonna z
For reference, here's the car with the Big rear wing. Does one seem more appropriate than another?
frank280zx
For reference, here's the car with the Big rear wing.Does one seem more appropriate than another? the bigger as it balances out the square front much better ! and it suits the history and general look of the car better... Not a great picture of the operation, but you get the idea. Here's and old picture before the restoration.
Evan Purple240zt
Pretty cool, I like the new one best!
jgkurz
Pretty cool, I like the new one best! I never thought I'd say this about a whaletail but it's more subtle and blends with the lines of the car much better. A whaletail on my car would look out of place, on your car it looks like it is suppose to be there. Just my .02C. Your next mod should be a twin turbo LSx.. BTW, is the car stable at higher speeds? I'd be curious to know if there is a difference between the two rear spoliers.
datsun40146
ditto, I also like to new smaller rear end.
jeffer949
Yeah the whale tail is the way to go. the old spoiler kinda looks like an after thought. Where the new one actually flows with the body line. and keeps the sleekness of it consistant
Dragonfly
Having been one of the guys who has seen this car in person (when it belonged to Hoover) I have to say that I like the original wing from every angle except directly from behind. I think the best way to evaluate (for me at least) is to take several more pics with the whale tale including directly from the back. This is purely in the interest of evaluation and has nothing to do with obsesive compulsive desires. Dragonfly

This may not help much because I put the other wheels on... so every thing is different. Any thoughts on the wheels?
DrSideways
What's the chance of getting some molds of those rear flares??????? Those are the proper IMSA units from the Devendorf car. It seems the molds got destoyed. Thanks, Alan
Challenger
I like the original wheels and spoiler personally. The large spoiler balances the car.
tfreer85
New wheels need to be powdercoated black IMO, would really make it them give a good contrast. Tyson
JMortensen
I think the whale tail looks more like a dolphin tail on that car. By looks I'd go with the original. Might be fun to put it in the wind tunnel and see which actually works best and provides better balance front to rear.
mario_82_ZXT
I like the original tail best. I just love how these cars look! On the wheels, I'd keep the meshes, but I absolutely love mesh wheels! Mario
OlderThanMe
I like the new look of the car but... Since the front of the car is so outlandish and bold the huge rear spoiler completes the look. I do like the new look, don't get me wrong. The rear end may need something else to make the look more "balanced".
datsun40146
I am changing my vote, I had thought and still think that the new spoiler looks better, but only from the front or from a forward angle. The new pictures you posted of the rear of the car sheds new light on how this new tail looks and I must say the old one was better when viewed from the rear IMO.
