Challenger
Hey, could anyone with nice 14's post pics of their car? Ive got a set of western turbines (14x6.5) and I had them all media blasted and am In the process of paiting a semi gloss black. I really dont like having a huge sidewall so Id like something in the range of 195x55 or 205x60... I contacted Zero and KTM since they both had/have 14's and they had similar tire sizes. My car will be lowered about 2 inches and my previous tires rubbed (with stock susp.) so I had no choice but to get tires. So could I get some samples? Thanks
jeffer949
Those are minilites 14X6.5 not sure of the offset but they fit fine but you have to put a small spacer on the front for it to clear the spring. The tires are 195/70-14 but you could fit wider in the rear very easily. They are for sale if your interested. just pm me if you are
palauoriginal
heres a couple of pics of Pr0x back in the day...hehe:icon12: same wheels you got i think. dunno if they 14's tho
Challenger
Those are 15's and I have the ones with smaller fins.
Kevin.pk
This is my old Z with polished 6 spokes. The tires were 205/70/14. I always thought the sidewall was a little tall and think something slightly smaller would probably have looked better. It had tokico lowering springs. Armand
Here is my 240 with my old 14's. Those tires are 225's but they were more like the equivalent to today's 205's in width. Those were tokico hp's and really old eibach springs. And here was the cover shot of my car back in 1991:

TABrinn
Hey Armand, Where did you get those 3 wing knock offs? I've been searching all over for them. Looks sweet!
Armand
You're talking about the stars on the wheel hubs? I dunno where you can buy them from, they came on the car when I bought it. I sold them though.
zguitar71
This is my 240 with azc springs which lowered the car about 1.5", I was running 195/60/14's so the diameter was pretty small (23.2") The wheels are 14x7 -12 offset.

zed660
My 260 when it had 14 x 7" wheels with 206 x 60 x 14 tyres
Chino 240Z
Toyo's RA1s 225x50x14 on 14x7 Panasports, lowered and did not rub, fenders not rolled. Since then we have gone to 225x50x15 on 15x7 Panasports. BTW... I now have a set of 5ea rims & tires up for any offers. I did like the profile of the 14x7's with 50's on the car better than the 15x7's on 50's. Had to size up with the installation of the Arizona Wilwoods & rotor setup. sorry bout the large pic, tried to re-size too.
Challenger
So Im considering the 195x60x14, would say a 205x50x14 about the same height but wider? Also isnt the wheels above a 16in, or are those 15's?
jeffer949
Hey challenger a few weeks ago i was at a meet and a guy had 14" rims with 195x60x14's and honestly the tires looked way to small. didnt fill up the wheel well at all. Challenger
Yeah thats what Im worried about... I know I have 14's so I have to have some sidewall, but Id like to minimize it.... What do you think is the point where they look to small? Zed660's picture above showed 205-60-14 and those looked pretty nice, didnt look to small.. jeffer949
well just do the math 60% of 205mm and 60% of 195mm. I think you will have to have some sidewall. I would be more worried about getting the size that will look correct and then focus more on buying a quality performance 14" tire. Oh btw 10mm in tire size looks bigger than you think
Challenger
Yeah, 10mm makes a big difference. I know I need sidewall but Id like to be able to distinguish between my Rav4 tire and my sports cars..
rturbo 930
FWIW, I have 225/60/14's on a 14x7 wheel and it looks good, not too big or small IMO. IIRC I have 215/70/14's on a 14x6 wheel, and it looks too big IMO. The rear is the 225/60, the front is the 215/70:
