Arizona Z brakes

Recommended Posts

Just wanted to pass on my impression of Dave's brakes (Arizona Z). I know many of you have run his brakes for a long while, so this is not new info. But when I unpacked the boxes I was really impressed with the care they were packed, and the quality of the hardware as well as the brackets. I started the install today, hope to have everything back on the road in a week or two.

Yeah Dave is a fantastic retailer, very helpful, with great prices and a great product. Still waiting for that illusive handbrake kit tho lol, told be in a couple weeks, 7 months ago.

Have the brakes on, and they all go together superbly.

Will buy from again A+++++

:D

Yeah I love his brakes. Make sure you gauge the rotors with a dial indicator and shim them straight after the initial install. I made the mistake of simply having them turned (lathe) when they were brand new and mounted to the hub, and ended up with thick and thin spots on brand new rotors.

Yeah I've been getting the same story :). I bugged him enough early on that he went ahead and sold me the brackets with the extra lugs for the hand brake calipers. Once he completes the custom cables I'll order the rest of the kit.

Same story here. Got the new brackets for the hand brake so it will be easier to install when Dave gets the kit completed. He told me he sold the suspension from under his car, so he can't test the kit. Hopefully it won't be too long- just a couple more weeks lol!

I'm going to have to do this.

I don't believe I ever done anything to my lot other then bolt them on and go.

I'm starting to get that groves effect I believe your talk about.

Will have to look into this more.

Overall love the kit and braking power.

Just an update. I talked to Dave yesterday. It looks like the parking brake kit isn't going to be ready for quite some time. He designed a kit but it turned out to be too expensive @ over $1000/set. He recommended that I go ahead an install a line lock...that's not what I wanted to hear :(.

Yea, sucks. I'm just going to to a disk brake conversion on my rears due to the lack of a mechanical parking brake. Also rear AZC disks kinda seems like overkill to me haha. The fronts are great though.

Overkill until you track the car with 300+ hp. Once you see what they do on the track at ludicrous speeds, you change your mind. I only upgraded after my stock brakes failed from heat, suddenly, at the end of the main straight at Limerock. The stock brakes can get you around the track very quickly. However, me being a practice driver, I need that extra insurance of a consistent pedal. Nothing gets your credit card out faster than no brake pedal at 130mph.
