  1. So long story short.. Bought a clean 93'TT, Aftermarket goods, runs great, no smoking issues, low miles.. Boosts around 16psi, no leaks anywhere. Did my first oil, while doing that removed turbo pipes, and intake pipes to check.. All clean no oil. Put it back together.... Now first drive, boosted hard, noticed boost gauge not as reactive as it has been. After boost, on decel, car had white smoke out the back. Could a boost leak cause this?... and white smoke? Obviously I'm on old Z guy, but haven't dabbled into 300's enough to really know them well in this case. Your thoughts?
  2. Oh..... BTW. I do have a few new parts available. New Hatches available. In both "Bolt-on", and Hatch skin for race purposes. New Cowl Panel ( LH, RH, and NO- wiper holes available. )
  3. Not to happy to see that Ztrix ( John Washington ) has copied my custom Gnose and IMSA kit. I know this from a fact, by a feature line I designed into the nose when building it, so I know its a direct Rip-OFF copy of my gnose, with no changes. Pretty piss pour business tact. Will be discussing this with Mr. Washington soon.
  4. If someone is whining after all your efforts , Pure Vomit! Fantastic job….. Your bringing together a dream thats been around a long time, and for many Zcar enthusiasts.
  5. This forum post will outline my restoral of my 1973 Nissan FairladyZ. I purchase the car ( with the help of a friend ) from a guy in Washington State. He used to run a Z shop in the 80's-90's, but had decided to get rid of his collection of early Datsun/Nissans. I purchase the car for a very reasonable $1800... The car was a roller, and most of the pc's are there. On further inspection, #'s match, Original L20A, It has the very rare "Rally-Clock", and the passenger foot rest, which was a added option. Once I got it home, and began to tear into it, I had a nice surprise.. The OE color was WHITE ( very happy ), as over 60% were silver, and white is going to make a great looking car. Also found 2 Japanese coins in the cracks, that prove without a doubt ( not that there was any ) it was from Japan. I'll be updating as I can, with the disassembly of the car, and any headway I make on her. Cheers, B.
  6. Pardon if I missed it, but is your initial build using what lower end to get these HP estimates? What crank and rods?... I saw it was 89mm pistons.
  7. FYI My ZG-R tail is not the same as ReTro's... The angle is changed, the corners are more rounded and shaped to fit more of the Z's body lines. It was my own interpretation of what I thought a cross between a whale tail, and a IMSA tail would be.
  8. Correction $650

  9. Thats been a unfortunate consistancy with him, and his parts. No matter, I hope what I heard isn't true.
  10. I had someone recently tell me that he had heard that Paolo, the owner for Retro-Spec, was murdered in his shop in Mexico! Not sure if this is true, anyone hear anything from him lately?
  11. I may be out of stock. I will need to look when I get back to the shop this week.
  12. Sorry man... Didn't mean to be one of those to strike the nerve.
  13. I actually just mapped out the Signal PCB for a simple inline magnetic speed sensor. You put it inline with the speedo cable, and it sends a signal to this PCB. This PCB then changes its signal to an electrical pulse that the unit can read. Its actually pretty easy. Not sure how it would work with the unit your attempting to use. Another option is a signal unit right off the ignition. I can source a universal PCB sending unit that is made to do this from Japan. Good friend of mine has a steering unit. He loves it, says its awesome…. Only issue I've come across is with his PCB going out. Its only been isolated to him, so not sure what it is. Been super sporadic and with no precursors... Not sure if he's having a electrical surge in his wiring, or if its something in the unit itself. I'm in the process of trying to get this issue resolved. Going to send back to customizer in Japan, and have him diagnose it, repair, or replace.
  14. I'm pretty sure at this point, that its a offset issue also…. I've never ran into this issue with any customers. I'm going to shorten the spacer just a hair for him, and that should get it to clear the wheel. How it will effect the dumpster, is the question. Its only going to be 3/8-1/4" max, but still… B.
  15. Yah, as i thought, this performance hood piece is the same offered by MSA. Fhptom…. Not sure how these cars end up in the middle of no where. If I could of, I would of saved the entire car, and tried to get that rear fender replaced. Would of been awesome to rebuild it as best as possible.
  16. Not sure if this hood piece is the same as the one offered by MSA?… Does anyone know?
  17. Today started like any other day I would expect. I had the chance two sleep in ( so I did ) and I woke feeling pretty darn good. But little did I know, the "Z" gods were smiling at me!! My friend calls me, and with great excitement in his voice, starts telling me he's found a Zcar in his buddies wrecking yard in madras, Oregon. Now at first I'm thinking ,"yah another torn up car someone is dumping because its been smashed". But being that my friend has had enough involvement in some of my projects for Z Car Custom's, he recognized the Gnose and that it was very unique. I said "Gnose"!…. Ok you have my attention. I'll need to take a look. He tells me his friend who owns the yard, is going to let us get in and take a look at the car. If we want anything, we can discuss it with him later. Well convinced, I jump in the shower, slap on some cloths, and wander to the shop…. OK… What may I need?… I grab my tools (check), generator for power ( Check), jack and stands (Check), and rug partial to lay-on (check )… I meet him at the yard at 10:30, and in we go! As we drive up, my mouth drops open!! What I'm looking at, I've only seen in photo's!!…… I get out of the truck, and I'm like, " man!… I'm pretty sure thats a California Z body kit". It's been hit in the Driver side rear, and the rear panel that covered the rear quarter is gone. But the Left is there, and in perfect shape. The Gnose is in great shape, the hood has a raised panel, and the front fenders are molded into the gnose. So I start by digging around in the car, and find in the storage bin, treasure!!! ….. After looking at this, I can not believe it. I have found the complete installation kit instructions, sales pamphlets, a reprint of a write-up from the copy of the 1979 HOT ROD Magazine entitled, " NORDSKOG Z/V-8", and even personal photos of the car. After looking through the papers, I realize, this is the car!!…. Holy crap, This is Mr. Nordskogs Show car! Well….. Cutting to the chase, I salvaged all I could, to include license plate, dash ( which was in perfect condition by the way ), entire front clip, hood, and anything else I thought pertinent. It was sad, as I knew the car had met its final end. But I made sure to preserve as much of its history, and records as I could. The original V8 and its parts were long gone, but I did find the original custom dash badge… I thought it was pretty cool to find. Here are the photo's I took as we salvage what we could, and the materials I found. Needless to say, I don't think to many of us have had day's like this. I'm thinking I should plan on using these parts, and building a car…. Maybe a tribute Zcar to Mr. Nordskog, and his contribution to the Hybrid Zcar!!
