  1. I had forgotten that the thread was here in the Body section....Look here for update in Vendor Forum: ZG-R TAIL
  2. Here are a couple Idea's I have running through my head... See alt. photo. 1 - I wold ncorporate a ledge for the hood nose to settle near. will create a strong spot for center support. I also over exaggerated the curve, but you could point the nose a bit to follow the hood. 2 - you could made small aero slots in the center panel.. His would also add some support to the center panel, which may reduce any type of folding inwarad by high pressure buildup at speeds. I just used a straight line to show an example, but you could make them long, narrow and oval with steel mesh behind.. This would allow more air to flow into and toward the radiator, and reduce that high pressure point. All this could be handled in the plug process. B.
  3. It just happens, I know a great mold builder.. WINK!! I like it also.. great new style lower spoiler with a good rounded front that molds in nicely with the headlights. Very surprised it looks so good with that little work.
  4. Just a heads up!....... I'm finishing drop in hood scoops for the Z. I have the plugs almost complete, and they will allow for 1, 2, or 3 port options. The will also allow for custom positioning on the hood front to back. They look great and fit the lines of the Z well. I'm working on them being a simple drop in ( bolt in ) design to minamize the work to install. Once I have them ready, I'll post in vendor section.
  5. Ron, WOW...... Your making some serious progress with this swap. I love seeing your little do-dads you machine. Looking forward to seeing it come all together.
  6. Update: Pictures of the mold!!.... Love my new mold maker, he does the most awesome work. Mold is top quality, note CF layers!! This thing is beautiful.... 3 piece mold, fits together like a glove. We will be finishing small details this week. Layup schedule will begin, and we should have our first CF part laid up by next week. Part will be laid up in only 2-pieces!.. only 1 small line will be hidden at the tips of the tail, otherwise the CF patter should be unbroken t/o the tail. If people are wanting a FG tail that will be available. CF tail w/o clear ( for those racing or painting the tail ) will be available also. CF w/o clear may have slight pin holes but will weigh in under 3 lbs!!! Std. CF Tail will be sprayed w/ UV protection clear coat. The clear adds a bit of weight ( not much ), so the tail will come in just over 3 lbs respectively. I'm guessing I should have pricing and initial orders begin by next month. I'll keep you informed. Brian
  7. I'm not sure if it would or not.. The rear may be a bit more squared??......But I thought it was only longer at the Quarter window by 6".
  8. Your down there... MSA ( motorsport Auto www.zcarparts.com) has ZG flares. I'd run by a buy a set since your so close. B.
  9. Update:...... I'm told the mold is done, and there just doing some final polish work on it. Should have a first pull on a part in the next few weeks. I'll let you know how it goes. B.
  10. dream'n about Z cars .

  11. Yesw, it is cheap, but as you said, what is it your listening too?? The J&S allows you to set its sensitivity, thus tuning out chatter from the drivetrain. I'm pretty sure you can use this with carbed motors as well... They have several different versions. Anyway, each to his own, just thougth I'd throw that out there for you.
  12. As much as we put into our motors, I wouldn't leave it to chance. The best option in my opinion was brought to me by RTZ........... J&S SAFEGAURD KNOCK RETARD SYSTEM! http://www.jandssafeguard.com/ This system is bullet proof, and in my opinion the best bang for the buck. Basicly it senses through a single Bosch knock sensor that you can place anywhere on the block ( solid mount ). Then it senses knock on a "per Cyl. basis"..... Thats whats cool. So it know's what cylinder knocked on the last rotation of the crank. It then tailer adjust ( per your settings ) how much it will the timing for that cylinder on the second pass after the knock was detected. It does this automaticly, and will do so for every individual cylinder. As much money and time we put into our motor builds, this insurance is awesome!!......... and it beats trying to set and adjust your own timing, as alot of times that just get you an expensive engine bill later!! Check out the site, and read on it.
  13. This part is made to follow the lines of the Z as closely as possible without interferring.
  14. I use a clear adhesive plastic on my car.. had the MSA on for 7 yrs, and no scratchs. No wait.. now your saying it's to good of a fit?...LOL
  15. No biggy.. just making sure you note the search. Some here don't have the best of patience for those who don't help themselves first. Just watching out for ya!!
  16. First, just as a heads-up, you'll want to make sure you do a search before you post. Plenty of info here to find what you want. Here: http://www.mckinneymotorsports.com/prod_240+260+280Z+parts Good luck. B.
  17. TonyD covered it........... Kameari flywheels are balanced when machined.
  18. don't worry guy'z, hybridz folks will have the first dips on the first runs... I'll keep you updated when things get moving.
  19. Amazing work my friend... My hats off to you!! Going to be a great custom Z when complete... and so much fun to drive!!LOL
  20. Tail is still in mold process. One mold section is completed, and I believe he's already into the second part. I've already told him that once he's got the mold, to start on perfecting the layup schedule so we can get an idea of materials and pricing for both.
  21. Should fit very nicely... The tail was actually widend to meet the rounded detail line on the side of the fender quarters. Wont know for sure until I get one on a car with our IMSA Kit.
