  1. Looks like crower quit doing the L28 cams or they just don't list them. Best bet is to email them or call them. It's a regrind so they may still offer the service, just not list in the catalog.
  2. Sure we can give you all kinds of answers, but the right one is, it will run rich. NA AFM is smaller in diameter and set to open fully at a different airflow rate than the turbo AFM. The AFM will go to full rich and the engine won't be getting full air flow to compensate. Mixing NA and turbo parts is just a bad idea anyway.
  3. Good luck. I work for General Dynamics Information Technology on a USMC contract. I too have to have a clearance and deploy to Iraq. It's not that bad though, We do 6 months deployments with the option for a year. Last time I went was a year, but this time I'm only doing the 6 months. The money makes it all worth while.
  4. Blow it out with an air hose and let it dry really good before powering back up. It should be fine, I've done crazy crap like that to my Motorola V3 so many times it should be dead.
  5. The electric clutch is better than using an electronic bypass. With the bypass you still get the drag of the s/c without the added boost. With the electric clutch you can drop the drag and the boost all together.
  6. I have a 79 RHD Fairlady. It's rough, but seems to be complete. I don't think I could part with it though. I intend on fixing it up for the wife.
  7. It's not the hood it's the nose of the car. Look at the left side as opposed to the right. It dips like it's malformed. Body work, you can do it quick or do it right. Looks like he went with the former.
  8. Nice, kinda looks like the LEDs I used in my dash. I never got around to doing the gauge pod though so I never felt it was complete enough for pics. I just soldered the resistor to one leg and bent them into position, then slipped them under the contacts in the sockets.
  9. A quick search pulled this one up: http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=120724&highlight=E30
  10. Hydrogen peroxide is ok, but it will pull out more than just the blood if the material is colored. That's why most hair bleach for women use hydrogen peroxide as an activator, it reconstitutes the bleach and promotes color stripping as well.
  11. Ideas...Yeah find a new place to live and not because of the break in, because of the police! Damn you have a DNA sample handy, if nothing else they could hold it until they had someone in custody. Anyhow, to get the blood out use a baking soda/water paste and scrub it.
  12. Correct, it's all the same. I just swapped my 81 from a P79 to an N42 without changing anything but the head itself. Just don't let the timing chain go slack unless you're ready to tear apart the front of the engine.
  13. http://www.atlanticz.ca/zclub/techtips/cam/index.htm That's all I know of.
  14. Not sure that will work, but you could try it. I would recommend taking the caliper off to do it. I usually do mine with the hose attached, I just use wire and hang from the strut spring.
  15. The LY is just as if not more elusive than the Giken.
  16. A little interjection here. Will this thread change anything? No... Was there any real point to bringing up something that has already been complained about numerous times? No... Is anything being done to help with the problem? Yes... The admins here on hybridz.org are actively sifting through the massive numbers of posts we get daily. They decide which ones are relevant and which ones are garbage and distribute as necessary. I know about a year or so back one of the admins went extensive on the archives to try and clean up the forums for better searching. It's a long and going process that, unfortunately with the incoming amount of garbage out weighing the ability to sort it the problem won't get better quickly. Maybe we need to set one person aside in each sub forum with admin rights to go through the archives in detail and clean them. That would be their only goal and let the rest of the admins monitor the incoming garbage. Just a thought. If you need help let me know.
  17. $900 for a running Z isn't too bad. And no not all 280s had cats.
  18. It looks like someone just stuck an intake to the other side of the head. The studs are still on the exhaust side for the intake. Seriously though, about the only way to get a crossflow head on a Z today would be to either plead and beg 1 fast z to build you one (not likely) or pay a butt load of money for someone to cut the intake ports to the other side of the head and weld and fill the old ones and pretty much completely modify the head inside and out. Or cut up two KA24 heads and dowel them together appropriately...hehe
  19. 67-74 weren't the only ones without a cat. The cat wasn't on all models until 78. My 77 Federal Model from the factory didn't have a cat and still doesn't. Had a spark arrestor that the muffler shop mistaked for a cat, but that was a long drawn out argument settled with a standards book showing cali model and federal. 250rwhp is possible with a stock lower end using a ported head with new springs, bigger cam, bigger injectors, ported or aftermarket intake, header and MegaSquirt with a good tune.
  20. Interesting info on Arizona Emissions: Automobiles that are less than five years old do not need to be tested. Alternative fuel automobiles whose model years fall after 2003 do not need to be tested. Automobiles that were made before 1967 do not need to be tested. Vehicles that are apportioned, or licensed in more than one state, do not need to be tested. Vehicles powered by electricity, golf carts, and those that do not displace more than 90ccs do not need to be tested. Leased vehicles that commute into the designated areas do not need to be tested. Wholesale dealer vehicles do not need to be tested. It seems this emissions testing (Car Care Program) only applies to cars that either reside in the Tucson and Pheonix metro areas or commute to and from these areas. Anywhere else is exempt. I wonder how that works even with a 240Z that doesn't have a catalytic converter? Still I don't think the emissions will be that big a deal on a 280. You best bet in my oppinion would be to yank the stock EFI harness and rewire everything with a MegaSquirt ECU and DIY Autotune Harness. Leave the cat and the EGR in place as they're just passive or vacuum operated systems. Tune the MS right and you'll never have to worry about emissions. Come to think of it, my 77 doesn't have a cat either, it's a federal model. Depending on the car you could end up without one. In Arizona there's so many nice Z cars. I've sooooo wanted to fly down to Arizona and hang with some fo the guys on here for bit while looking for another Z to drive back home.
  21. Looks like a good excuse for a rear diffuser. Eeven though it seems they have no real advantage it'll look good and cover the "race car tip off" for the cops.
  22. You didn't search too well, I know for a fact I've answered this one many times over the last couple years. Try jumping the start terminal on the solenoid to a hot. If it cranks you have a wiring issue, if not you have a bad solenoid.
