  1. Do you have to fiberglass those things in to look like his? Or do they just bolt up????
  2. I have some 64 cc fuelie heads, casting #291 for sale. These heads have had a fresh 3 angle valve job, comp cams springs, pocket ported. They have no more than 10 miles on them. All work was done by Rex Hutchson Racing in Sacramento,Ca. I want 250 for them and you wold have to pay for shipping.
  3. Do you guys think it is worth getting the ram air set up over a 14x3 k/n with and x flow lid? I really dont like the look of the ram air but if its worth the power I may lean towards it.
  4. I was just on spintech's site and it looks like their pro street mufflers are only 69 bucks! They are 4x6x12. Hmmm?????? I just want to hear them first.
  5. Does anyone know the part # on those flairs from MSA? It looks like they are what they call their "street flair"? Anyone????????
  6. My dad has the car chemistry inserts behind his small block 280. He tried them with a H pipe and dual 2.5 pipes but it was way too loud. He had the 3 disc quiet ones too! Now he just installed some 2 chamber flows with them and it has a nice sound. I just put some 2 chamber delta flows on my wifes 01 GT stang and they sound great but with very little inside droning. I am either going to go with those or the spintechs.
  7. I will for sure keep you guys posted. What do you guys think of my motor combo? 350 sbc 10 to 1 comp AFR 195 heads RPM air gap intake 750 holley 1.5 roller tips pro form hei 1 5/8 shortie headers 2.5 delta flows 286/490 comp magnum cam
  8. Sounds like somthing other than the manifold. Air gaps kick ass. You might see 5 to 10 hp on a sbc if you keep the revs under 6500.
  9. My dad's 280 is pretty fast with its fast burn 385 sbc and tpi 700r4. Its gonna be fun. We just got done putting in the new comp cam and removed the old heads. The cam is rated at 286 duration and 490 lift. I am running some roller tip summit 1.5 rockers. I am hoping for around 420 to 430 hp without NOS.
  10. Man I love that look! Looks like I am gonna have to flare my 70240. What is the price and part# on those flairs? What size fronts are you going to go with? Thanks
  11. Thanks Davy, I should have the motor and tranny in the car within the next 2 to 3 weeks. Its gonna be fun racing my dad in his 280 hybridz
  12. I went with the TPI 700r4 with a 2000 stall converter. My car will be road driven and run at the strip from time to time. For me this was the best option. But dont get me wrong when I drive those 6 speeds I get a real lot of driving satisfaction that an auto just can deliver!
  13. Should I get the cv's from the 280zxt if I already have the stock 240set up? Thanks
  14. So should I see if its an late 86 model? Do all of the lsd diffs have the finned cover?
  15. OK guys please help me out here. I found a 83 zxt and a 86zxt at a yard in a nearby city. What one of these r200's will have the lsd diff? Should I grab the cv? What would the gear ratio be in these r200's? I have a 70 240 that will be running a 400 hp 355 sbc. Any help would be great.
  16. Pete, Keep the 274! My cam is a solid with 292 duration and 480 lift. Its 230* at .050. Yes it as a very rowdy idle but it is totally streetable. With the stick shift an 3.7 gears you will have more than enough to boil the tires! This 274 will help extend your rpm band were the 327 loves to be!
  17. Screw the tpi and stick with the carb! Get a air gap rpm intake and a 3310 holley and call it good! That set up will flow right up to 6500 rpm and still give good low speed torque.Plus its dirt cheap!
  18. The cam and intake is a little small for those good flowing heads. I would suggest the comp cams 274 x energy. Also go for the eldlbrock air gap rpm intake instead of the performer. As for the carb, I think its fine. If ya got the extra cash, go for the 750cfm.
  19. Try your local driveline shop. They will be able to order them for you. I ahve a buddy who runs a d line shop, I will call him and let you know.
  20. JP, how do you like that 284 x cam? I was considering this cam in a later build up. Hows the idle?
  21. Hey Pete, I am not sure how much more top end is in the car since he is still breaking in the motor. We took it once to 5 grand and it seemed to still be pulling hard. Still though not enough cam for me . As for predtions on who's is will be faster is up in the air! All I know is that the 350 that I have came from my bro in laws chevelle is a real romper. Its just plain nasty at idle with that 292 cam and gear drive .
  22. Yeah ,I am real happy for him . We are going to paint them the same color and have the same style for interior.Kinda cool father and son project! Davy Z , you can bet on it that me and my pops will run against each other at Sac Raceway when mine is done. His motor is high tech= roller cam and alloy heads. And mine is old school= 292/480 solid cam and ported fuelie heads. It will be a good race when the time comes
