  7. Mine was already on the car when I got it. But the way it mounts under the alternator you really can't see it unless you're under the car. So painting it really isn't that big of a deal.
  8. I see that reference to "my gallery" here a lot and I can not find any links to galleries anywhere. Can someone please tell me where these galleries are? Is there something in the profile that would take me to people's galleries?

  11. I am torn with that same decision. Being a Sports car guy for years I feel it is almost sacrilegious to have an automatic in a sports car. My car is a daily driver, I live in Atlanta, USA and have to deal with major traffic everyday. My present setup is a 5 speed and at times in traffic I wish it was an automatic. Like others have said, you have to look at your biggest need and desire for your car and go with that.

  13. I have done some searching here and found a ton of information, you people are amazing. I am about to embark on an engine swap in my 280Z V8. Right now it has a Gen 1 350 and an old Chevy Monza 5 speed, both of which are getting tired. I bought the car this way and the drive train was installed without the use of a setback kit. I will be using a stock '95 Z28 350 LT1 engine in this new setup. I have not decided on a transmission yet. I'm torn between a world class T5, which seem to be hard to find, a T56 and an 4L60E automatic. This car is a daily driver, not a racer, and since I live in the city an automatic would be nice although in seems almost sacrilegious to have an automatic in a sports car. Right now I have 2 questions. Whose mounting KIT do you think works best with a LT1? My second question, I read here that the transmission tunnel needs to be modified to fit a 4L60E. Just how much modification are we talking about?
  14. You said fuel tank installed, what did you use? I'm about to convert to TPI and was thinking swapping to a GM fuel tank might be the way to go. That stock 13 gallon tank doesn't last long!

  16. First I want to say there is an amazing wealth of knowledge here and your cars are beyond belief. I am so jealous of some of the LS1 setups. I'm pretty much on my own with this project. Back in the day all my friends were gearheads, we all modified our 60s-70s muscle cars and helped each other wrench without question. But that was many years ago, those guys have long moved on, families jobs and whatever took us all in different directions. I've just recently got back into the car hobby with my 280z SBC project. I work with two guys you are very knowledgeable, one especially on the SBC so that helps. But so far I've been doing all my own wrenching. But since I just bought a TPI setup for the SBC that may have to change a little, this is totally new ground for me. Still haven't tried the club thing. There is a huge Datsun club here in Atlanta but I haven't gone to a meeting yet, maybe someday.
