I don't see any smoke. And sometimes it sputters if I give it 1/4th throttle or so. It also idles ridiculously high, I've noticed recently. Probably 900k-1200k too high.

I rarely switch it over to speed tv where they ARENT showing nascar/truck/various other boring redneck racing. I only watch nascar with my grandpa, and even then it's boring. I'd like to see more modern up to date stuff. or maybe even a Z show?! fat chance i know, but it would be nice. Maybe import/tuner focused shows...drifting....I don't know, but two wheel tuesdays is fun to watch sometimes. :]

*bows down* teach me, masta! I could certainly use the experience, as my dad can only help me with the regular maitenence stuff (oil change, brakes, flashers etc). He looks at me funny when I throw out words like bore and cam lift and such. :|

i haven't driven it for more than a cumalative hour yet so i can't really say anything positive. or negative about it yet.2&3rd do seem a little bit spacey from each other though

I think I just need a new starter, alternator, spark plugs and wires, but maybe I'm missing something else. Sometimes she won't start, unless I pump the gas whilst turning the key. And if I let the rpm's drop beneath about 1,000, she sputters and will die unless I tap the gas a little bit. suggestions? ps this makes driving around town hell, I have to left foot brake wherever I go, so i can keep my foot on the gas a little bit. (heel toe'ing can get quite tiring after a while, left foot braking seems easy and more convienient.)

a ka24 swap sounds sinful.

the other day an old celica (i'd say about an 87) pulled up next to me with a loud loud exhaust, and the wing was in the MIDDLE of the window. not on the trunk, not on top of the roof like on civic hatch backs, but in the direct middle of the window. I laughhhhhed.

my dad rides like 5 to 6 days a week road and mtn, but normally on trails. sometimes i accompany but dont like slowing him down

Thanks, here come trouble! I'll definetly keep all of that in mind. The 82 is a p79, and the 79 a n42. I'm glad I didn't do the head swap. I would have been all "hey wtf?" Also, the 82 was the 3spd auto, not 5 spd manual. so it had absolutely no economy at highway speeds. thanks again!
