  1. I would run it. You can build another engine later.
  2. Since the dyno was still acting up when in use I would not really trust any #'s out of it. I hope you got a huge discount on the dyno time. John
  3. I couldn't have said it better myself. LOL
  4. I doubt if he will allow molds to be pulled if the car is for sale. there is the very real possibility that the paint would be damaged.
  5. I bet he is selling it because it makes so much interior noise. Air cleaner appears to be in the passenger compartment. Engine noise would be unbearable.
  6. You have come to the right place for info. I am fairly new to this site and have found a wealth of info in the various posts. I am in Wilsonville and have a 260 that I am slowly puting together.
  7. They also made a 272 inch Y-block.
  8. I would have to think long and hard before I built and ran something like what you describe. Any off center movement of the floater plate is going to cause a severe imbalance. Sounds like a recipe for a nasty clutch explosion to me. My $.02 worth.
  9. Make one by cutting up 2 of the female-male fittings, bevel edges on the 2 male halfs, weld or braze as needed. Ta-da !!! You have a fitting.
  10. Before you buy an expensive distributer you might check into other possibilities. I've heard that a Chevy HEI module can be used to replace the stock ignition module. They are very cheap and readily available. Might save a bundle of cash.
  11. Use a stethiscope on eack injector to see if it is electrically ok. Each injector should click when the engine is running. No click means bad injector, connector, or wiring. You may also have a bad fuel pressure regulator. The diaphram could have a pinhole leak. To test it, apply vacuum to the manifold side. It should hold a vacuum and not leak down.
  12. Did you make sure that the park brake cam is backed off all the way? The center of the piston has a treaded cam to actuate the PB. Rotate it to collapse the the piston to its retracted state.
  13. As far as I'm concerned, anyone who strives to be "PC" is letting someone else do their thinking for them, and deserves whatever they get. Investment strategy: buy cartridges, they will be very valuable in the coming revolution.
  14. Check to make sure you didn't leave a vacuum line off. A vacuum leak will cause the fuel pressure to go high.
  15. Thanks Grumpy, I learn a bunch of new stuff whenever I read one of your posts.
  16. Does anyone here no what the rocker arm ratio is on an L26 engine? I cant find anything when using the search feature. Thanks. John D.
  17. Your grill looks great!!! Nice work !!!
