  1. yes it possible to reverse charge a battery.
  2. I would check to see if the fuel pressure regulator is damaged or has been tampered with. It may have a leaking diaphram.
  3. I had the Holley injection on a mild 350 and found that it needed constant adjustment. If you decide to keep it I would get the optional O2 sensor, which should help to keep it in tune. Looks like you got the makins of a nice ride!
  4. Pallnet has it right! cause is a missfire. Raw unburned fuel is hitting the cat.
  5. have a flat cam. Remove rocker covers, watch each rocker arm. the lobe that is flat will have a noticable difference in lift and a noticable difference in its acceleration. Good luck.
  6. If you can feel the scratch you will probably have to grind it. If not, then lap it and then check with prussian blue.
  7. I had a simular problem with a big block HV pump installed on a 350. I ended up using 4 Qts. of 5-30 oil and 1 Qt. of ATF. It dropped my oil pressure to an acceptable number and also kept the engine internals very clean.
  8. By the way, Burning propane leaves a lot of moisture in the air. You can expect rust on any bare metal!!! Voice of experiance.
  9. I bought a used, Electric, forced air furnace (used in all electric homes)for $25. I mounted it in the rafters with the vent coming out the bottom. It requires 220V, but man it works great!!
  10. Been there, done that!!! When working at a Datsun dealer in 1973, the dealer owner installed 6 of that type of lift. 2 years later I was raising a 260Z when one side of the lift dropped to the floor. When I checked for the cause of the failure, I found that the lift had a very large screw on each side, that engaged with a large nut in the arm assembly. The Nut had stripped completely out, allowing the arms to drop. A few months later another lift failed in the same way, and at that point they were all removed and scraped. BTW, the Zcar sustained heavy damage to the Rt. side, leaving us with a very unhappy customer. These lifts were used in a very busy Datsun dealership and probably were raised 20-40 times a day. they were not suitable for comercial use. But, for home use i would have no qualms about using one. It would last a lifetime in that application. I would probably install some safety pins for my own piece of mind. ( MURPHY HATES ME !!!)
  11. Put the shim on the rt. side under the cone instead of the cup. This will force the brg. outward into the case
  12. The vacuum secondarys will not open much if there is no load on the engine.
  13. Before you remove filters you punch a hole in the top of each one. The oil drains to pan and the mess is minimal.
  14. Put a sleeve in the one bad cylinder. It should work just fine.
  15. Look under the car. you should be able to see where the rubber contacted the body.
  16. The car has been abandoned. It is yours. get a new title and resell it.
  17. Crank main journals have been turned .010, rod journals turned .020.
  18. We did it all the time in the 60's and 70's. They made great power, revved like crazy, and sounded awesome at 8000+ RPM. We put them in Healy's, Camaros, 55-57 chevys, anything that wasn't a complete tank.
  19. I believe the subie uses a R-160 diff.
  20. clocking the stator housing should not cancel your warranty. It is a very common procedure.
