  1. I am wondering if the reason for so many hoses (stock) is because of the multiple baffles in the tank? I have a 01-71 and when I was cleaning the tank out it seemed like there were at least three baffles. That seems to make sence to me why Jon couldn't fill past 8 gallons, if one or two of the compartments weren't filling because they weren't able to vent. Maybe Nissan changed the design of the fuel tank baffles to compensate for 1) not having such a cluister of vent lines; and 2) a more efficient fuel delivery system...??
  2. CONGRATULATIONS!!!! Glad everyone is well. Here's hoping for a speedy release so you all can go home!
  3. I know, they're driving SAABs, but this is still kinda neat! http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=8521999166042642874&q=saab Check it out. [edit] link was truncated http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=8521999166042642874&q=saab
  4. It's one of the most easy things to do on your Z, dropping the fuel tank. After that, the hardest thing to do is to get the right size hoses, at the right lengths. Jon and I did our swap in about 3 1/2 hours total working time, including the time it took to clean the tank out with MEK and to drain and dry the tank correctly (don't tell my wife, with her hair drier).
  5. Definitely go with the fuel rated hoses. I think I spent $42 including the 3 Ts I used to fab the manifold, and the band clamps. Jon, does that seem right to you? We had to go to Ace hardware to get the metal T adapters.
  6. If you decide to keep your tank and add the manifold connecting all the vent hoses, MAKE SURE to get the hose clamps extremely tight!! I have seen a puddle under the back of my car. Regarding the fuel cell, do you have to lose the spare tire and tub to install it? Per your link, Jon, with the filler neck right on top, it looks like either that, and put it where the stock tank was, or raise the center of gravity and put it on the luggage deck. :dunno:
  7. Hello! I have done a search for 'beck-arnley parts list' to no avail. I have a bunch of wheel cylinder repair kits and I do not know to which model they belong. The kits all have the same numbers- U71-2984 with different extensions such as: UV5 UW2 UU1 UU3 Please help me find to which years/sides of the car these parts belong. Thanks!
  8. I saw a news broadcast that told of beercans being molded into the tires at FS. It's $hit like that happening at the plant that gets through QC and onto the roads and blowing out. Not all, mind you, but enough to be a problem.
  9. Welcome, man! Super clean ride!
  10. Mybe he's got one of these!!!! http://www.realtechnews.com/posts/2145 :lmao:

    350z?

    I sat in a 350Z at the San Francisco auto show and was drooling over the exterior styling, and the feel of the cockpit. But when I started using the amenities I realized that the interior was all plastic-y and cheapy. Sure there was a lot of plastic in the 240Z, but it just seemed very chintzy compared to the thoroughbred.
  12. But get the most intimate of poses....{coughbrowneyecough}
  13. Any updates, or pics for that matter?
  14. I didn't know that was allowed. I knew one could edit their posts...but deleting? Isn't that censorship?
  15. What post? I don't even see it. How'd you do that?
  16. I have a '76 3.0Si I could check to see if there is anything fishy with the setup compared to my 71 240Z.
  17. "I see!" said the blind man. Thanks!
  18. Hello, I have noticed that the post counter under my callname is not the actual number of posts that I have made on this site. What is the deal with post counting? Also, Whenever I log on to this site, the permission box at the bottom reads that I have all permissions granted EXCEPT for posting attachments. What gives with that? What if I have something to show everyone? Any correct information would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
