  1. I know where your kit is headed lol. its def in good hands! if it is indeed your kit. lol
  2. Being a Goonie means " Never Say Die!" Imo keep the turbo setup look for an na motor to slap in and drive a round with. once you go boost its hard to go back, But I understand at times you got to do what you got to do. sorry to hear that man. I"m in Las vegas I know its a drive but i May know some one willing to part with an l28et or some other N/A blocks he has lying around.
  3. Bone stock L28et sourced from an 83 zxt auto with stock rebuilt t3 turbo and stock turbo manifold E1280 Distributor L28E distributor shaft Sanyo Kiki Intake manifold Sany Kiki 45mm Side draft carbureators x 3 with all the turbo bits from sk/Oer. HKS type 1 surge tank Toyota supra same sided intercooler from cx racing JDm spec brand intercooler piping Msd 6btm Airtex fuel pump forgot the part number Msa down pipe to 2.5in exhaust all the way back. still need to do the 3in exhaust but more important non car stuff had to be taken care of. Damn those non car things lol.
  4. But a 240z is a performance sports car, its just old a heck. Any who give this a try http://forums.hybridz.org/topic/82371-my-notes-on-the-na-l28-to-turbo-swap/ I gave you the link in my previous post but in case you missed it here you go, now get to reading.
  5. Freakin Awesome! Continental knows how to treat a lady!
  6. Plenty of People on the forum have gone the turbo route with N/A and Factory turbo Motors with good results. you could source an l28et or just buy bits at a time and put the motor together when you finally have everything needed to put it together, the mater of cost is really kind of tricky, for instance I bought a complete l28et long block with fuel injectors, turbo distributor ect... for $700 bucks, still wasn't everything i needed but it worked for me at the time. MY good friend on the other hand got a smoking deal on a custom manifold/turbo and intake setup for about 400 bucks to put on the motor in his car now, different route, same goal.you're gonna have to plan a budget you can work with and scour the forums for sale thread,Ebay, craigslist,Junk yards, Garage sales, anywhere really, you'd be surprised with the stuff you can get if you know where to look. google Hybridz then L28et into 240/260/280 and or L28 n/a to turbo conversion and you should get some good results if you can't find anything using the Hybridz search.
  7. ^^ I"m gonna make a shirt to explain to my gf that will say "Tony D made me do it!" so I can't get yelled at when I spend money lol.
  8. Old Pic of My Pita! has been Cleaned up a bit I'll get some better pictures up when I can. my Current cell phone has a horrid camera.
  9. x2 TurboMania is awesome! It Gives you real world results for whats going on and not a bunch of fluff. just Be Careful,it may make you want to buy a set of Dellorto Carbs. Even if you have no use for them. LoL. If it wasn't for my Sk's I think i may have.
  10. I thought I broke something lol. I was like " Hey what happened to Hybridz?"
  11. yup, it wasn't until I did my fuel system I realized "I could have done the oil feel line" lol
  12. I'm using the kunigawa oil feed line on my car, its been good so far and for the price I can't complain either.
  13. i'l look at my setup im running sk45's i have a spare with the top half already off i'll do some investigating. as of now i have the chokes feeding back into the surge tank much like the Sk setup was designed.
  14. I know, i orderd it after trying to fly blind lol. now its just the waiting game. I know elevation has effect and this damn weather change. vegas sucks lol it goes from dry 115 one day to muggy 105 the next.
  15. Poor TonyD more of us are coming out of the woodwork to bug you about blowthrough stuff lol. I think I'm doing something wrong because my jetting is exact to kennymonster's specs aside from the mains i'm at 170. 145's and 150's didn't seem to work, if my dang afr gauge ever showed up I could finally see what was going on lol.
  16. I recently did an l28et swap into my car, before the swap it had an l28 with N42 head/block i mocked up bits from the turbo motor and all bolted up as if it was the turbo motor. 1. yes you will be fine with your N42 head. Head work and turbo's go hand and hand, you should yield better power results then if you had a stock head. Tuning will always play a factor as well. 2. if you're going to use the turbo distributor don't forget to swap out the oil pump/distributor shaft from the turbo motor, this is a must if you want to use the turbo distributor. the swap is rather straight forward just be sure to make sure everything is lined up when installing. If your going to be doing that I do recommened swaping over the turbo oil pump as well if its in decent shape, if not a new one couldn't hurt. 3. if you swap over the turbo oil pan I think you may need to swap over the oil pick up tube as well but I could be wrong on this. The turbo Guru's could help us with that one. This Forum is all about "Backyard Creations" but remember "BackYard" and "Half Assed" are two completley different things. Ive seen some really nice Builds come from people's own garages and Backyards, just take your time and do as much research before you go do anything, this will save you both time and money.
  17. DIdn't know this thread was still going! Stock L28 N42 head/Block 83 280zx non turbo distributor mated to msd 6al, Don't remmeber the timing off hand. Sanyo kiki 45 TWM units with weber jetting tower Sanyo kiki intake manifold 36mm inner venturi 4.5 outer venturi F11 emulsion tube ( soon to try F2) 145 main jet 185 air jet F9 60 idle jet Oer/sk version 50 Pump jet Oer/sk version Car runs well , no major poping/bucking, smooth transition and smooth revs to 6000 rpm. Idle seems high, about 1300 rpm ( read that's Normal?)I think it may have something to do with my 240/280 tach conversion for the msd. My roomate is running the same setup and has a dead even idle at 900rpm, I'll know for sure once I get an aftermarket unit. my jetting will differ soon as I'm finally gonna install my blowthrough turbo setup I'll post up the results if all goes well... or catastrophically wrong lol.
  18. Took long enough, but I Have some pics!! the Corner Piece I was refering to in my previous post. I took it to a self service car wash and sprayed the heck out of the doors. It held up well, my seats were dry for the first time after a wash!
  19. Hello all, I just installed front Door seals from a 2003 hyundai elantra GT, and a Hatch seal from a 1990 Honda crx. With a bit of trimming everything fit fine and seems to seal rather well. the Elantra Trim also has a nice ear piec that sticks right into the corner of the door frame. I don't have internet on my phone but I'll try and snag my gf's to take some pics and post them up.
  20. Thanks, that made my wing decision a whole lot easier!
  21. I have a bunch of twin turbo manifold pics saved on my laptop. I will dig those up too.
  22. Twin set up from the anime. The Sss car had two setups from what I've discovered. The single big turbo setup and the dual tdo6 setup. I have the complete first and second series videos. All 4 series had cars built by different shops. The first as we all know was the Sss z the second lesser known z was done by http://www.ms-musashino.co.jp and is still used on the cover page. I'm not too sure about the other series cars. The Ms car was a twin turbo efi setup using a Sanyo Kiki Itb system and one off surge tank. I have the same Sk manifold used in the film. It was used in the 1998 series shin wangan midnight which also had the top secret R33 GTR as the main rival. I will scan through the movies and post some findings. I'm looking for the third series as that devil z is suppose to be a high power N/a car. Those crazy wangans.
