  1. Dude thats a really shithouse deal. One drill hole and 20 minutes worth of die grinding is not worth AUD350. Dave
  2. Despite having one in the shed I'm afraid I can't help you there. Someone else I'm sure will though. Dave
  3. Some minor points: A 240Z is significantly lighter than a VL. A diff with a bigger number is termed `shorter' because for a given rotation of the input flange the distance travelled is well.. shorter. (Yes I know that definition doesn't work for taller, so sue me.) Dave
  4. I put a S14 SR20DET box onto my L28. Mate has put an S13 box on using identical procedure. Tutorial is at: http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=105982 Answers most of your questions I think. Dave
  5. The Series 2 RB30 blocks are identical. Series 1 N/A (as previously mentioned) don't have the turbo oil feed plug. Dave
  6. As an aussie thats kinda funny to me. Mind you, you guys get F54/P90s, we get RB30s. Shame I prefer the L. Best of luck with it all Brian. Dave
  7. Motec is arguably the best system in the world, everything else is a compromise for $. Dave
  8. What makes you think thats changing the spring's rate? As far as I know the rate of a coil springs is determined by the number of coils per unitlength, the cross-sectional area of the metal tube, and the specific metallurgical characteristics involved. Dave
  9. Horses for courses. Can't beat a forced induction big displacement engine for power, but you can beat it for application. Dave
  10. DemonZ, As far as my small brain will let me see, it won't make the Z any more of a wing shape than it already is. And by letting the air flow undernear the car faster, you reduce the pressure under the car, and thereby reduce the lift (wing) effects. Dave
  11. Very nice. From what you have done, do you think it would be prohibitively difficult to continue backwards and end up with a completely smooth underbody surface? Its been a while since I stuck my head under my zed, is there anything major in the way that would stop you? Oh and on another note, I notice the way the splitter tapers inwards. As the idea (from the previous air-dam discussion) as I understand it is to get the air flowing under the car as quickly as possible, I wonder if there would be any benefit adding some sides to the splitter to stop air spilling out. Or am I on the wrong track here? Do you want it to spill out into the wheel well? Dave
  12. Looks pretty nice to me. I don't think you could get better and have the turbo so close to the original position. I'm saving all the pics for if I ever get sk11lz and want to make one. Dave
  13. Update, I don't think you can even buy M10x1.75. Did you mean M10x0.75? Dave
  14. Ed, M10x1.75 is not a fine thread at all. In fact 1.75 is a very coarse thread. 27/28 thread pitch is closer to 0.9mm/rotation. Maybe your block was retapped by someone else? Dave
  15. I like the idea. Good to see something different. One thought though, reciprocating mass has more or less of an effect on rotational inertia than rotating mass? I think it would be more. Dave
  16. Good point Doug. I knew they were close, and I know that one of the sizes match both size and thread pitch in both BSPT and NPT and I thought it was 1/8. Nevermind. You could also consider re-dieing the fitting to BSPT assuming the dies are easier to get a hold of than the NPT tap. I run -3 turbo feed line and -12 return. Dave
  17. Hmmm.. The contact area will be less with straight cut. Example: - is a shorter line than / though they both occupy the width of one character. Dave
  18. Could someone explain why lower angle helicals make the gears stronger? I always thought it was more to do with the energy losses and the force that is applied to the casing? Dave
  19. Oh sorry. Never used photobucket before. 2 secs.
  20. http://s58.photobucket.com/albums/g275/thehelix112/MSA2006ZShow/ And a few more from moi. Nowhere near as good coverage though. Dave
  21. Oh you wanted pictures? Then I'm out. Sorry. Dave
  22. Oh and spec page: http://web.archive.org/web/20050213150905/park20.wakwak.com/~kaicho/spec/spec.htm N42/P90, HKS GT3037S, etc etc. Dave
