  1. Olie, the battery is brand new, how would I go about checking how much voltage it is putting out? THanks
  2. I apreciate all the help, I didnt expect this many responses! I actually did have HOtsync running but after closing it, still no luck.(I just loaded the palmTune software on my PDA) Iv now gone through and tried everything you guys just listed. The serial port was working with my PDA, so thats good, the cable is from DIYautotune so I would hope its the correct one. I looked in the megamanual and it says I need a "straight through" not sure what that means though. I opened the task manager and nothing apears to be running that would use that. Mario, I went through what you told me to and I think its all set, if it worked with my PDA does that mean its all set? I ran throught the list of things on this website.. http://www.megasquirt.info/connect.htm and since I am so bad with computers, a lot of it doesnt make sense. I have a couple of really dumb questions.. Is the firmware already loaded into the PCB board? I dowloaded the latest MSnS extra frimware and went through the download instructions but when it finally came to downloading it, it said something about a boot jumper? After searching I think I figured out what that is but Im not sure if its something I need to do? I think my problem may be with when I downloaded everything, I probably messed something up. I keep going over everything on the Megasquirt websites but theres so much information its hard to take it all in, especially at my age. Again thanks for all the help and sorry for all of the stupid questions, Rob
  3. I will start by saying I am very young and have no experience with this sort of thing and I am especially bad with computers. I purchased everything preassembled from DIYautotune and have the PCB3.0. I havent even installed it in the car and Im already having trouble. I am just trying to test out megatune and use the stimulator to make sure everything is working. My problem is I have no communication with my laptop and the ecu. I have a serial cable(from DIY) hooking them together, I have the stim hooked up with a 9v battery. ON the ecu the first light is flashing the middle is solid and the last one on the right is off. When I actually try to open megatune a notice comes up that says something like... WHen I get into megatune I tried com1, com2..... and it says there is no connection. I followed the MSnS extra setup guide on the MSefi website. I searched on the MS forums and there is so much information that I dont know were to start. I WOuld greatly apreciate any help. Thanks Rob
  4. Thank you I had already found that. I didnt even think to check there earlier. Incase anyone else was wondering, after searching it looks like the Palm Treo 650 phone might work.
  5. Sorry to bring up such an old thread... I have a quick question, The screen on my laptop just broke so now I need something use with MS. I also just broke my cell phone... Not a good week. I had a full waurentee and since they stopped making my phone Cingular is sending $200 to get a new cingular phone. So I was wondering if any of these PDA/Phones would work with MS?... http://onlinestorez.cingular.com/cell-phone-service/cell-phones/cell-phones.jsp?q_isPrepaid=false&q_targeter=PDA&RFlow=A&source=INC230056&zip=04076 If so will I be able use all of the features with the MSnS extra code? I plan to have someone initially tune the car so I dont need all the capabilites of the laptop. Thanks,' Rob
  6. Mine doesnt look nearly as good as yours does and I am still not quite done with it, I want to do a better job of making it all look like one peice. This is an old picture but its all I have.. And ya its only a 2 gauge pod I dont actually know how to post pictures so if it doesnt work there might a picture of it on my cardomain site
  7. That looks awesome, where did you get that gauge pod? I molded in one for a 5.0 Mustang
  8. Wow.. thanks for the help Paul. What exactly should I be using to for finishing, sanding wrap? If so what grit? I really apreciate the help. Its a good thing I didnt work on porting that tonight or I would have pretty much done the opposite of everything you just said. Ill be taking a trip to the hardware store tomorrow.
  9. I already searched for this topic which answered alot of my questions, but I still have a few more questions. I just started porting the runners on my intake manifold, I also started porting were it meets the throttle body for my new 60mm TB. Im using an air die grinder. To get the rough shape so far I have been using a carbide that I got from work. Im not sure if Im using the right kind because every other minute it gets clogged, which makes sense seeing as its aluminum. Is there a specific carbide I should be using for aluminum? Also.. Once I have cut out the rough shape with the carbide is it alright to use griding stones to finish it off? I have dozens of them at work in all different shapes that I could use. I remember reading a long time ago in some type of hotrod magazine that when it came to intake ports you dont want to have a smooth glass finsish but you want it a little rough, this was on a carbed V8 so Im not sure if this applies? THank you for your help in advance, Rob
  10. KTM-EXC

    400whp L28?

I wouldnt suggest it.. It gets really anoying especially when taking low speed turns.
  11. You dont need to have a boost controller. But if you plan to change your boost levels you do. And a turbo timer really doesnt have anything to do with the turbo itself. It just keeps your car running for a specific amount of time after you turn off the ingnition. So NO, its not really needed if you just let it idle for a couple of minutes before shutting it off.
  12. This might help?? http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=109181&highlight=holset+turbo+install
  13. Thanks for all the help, Pallnet I will send you another email. And Garret, I enjoyed your singing on the show....
  14. Thanks for your help ZX... I have another question now. On his website he has 2 options listed for the Oring fuel rail.. Either14mm or 11mm with the supra Injectors what would I need again thank you for your help
  15. I know A lot of you guys are running the 7MGTE 440cc injectors. I plan to get a Pallnet fuel rail if I can get a hold of him. My question is... Will aftermarket injectors for the 7M work just the same? Im just worried about buying used injectors off of ebay so I was thinking of spending the money for some new RC engineering injectors for a MK3 Supra. Does this sound like a good idea??? Also, does anyone know how to get ahold of Pallnet (I think is real name is Pete??) I emailed the a couple days ago. Does he have a new email adress? Thanks in advance, Rob
  16. Hey, I have a quick question.... Since the 7MGTE 440cc injectors work with a Pallnet fuel rail wouldnt aftermarket injectors such as RC engineering 550cc for the 7M work too? Thanks Rob
  17. Good Luck with your build. THat intake looks sick. And I think you might just pass the 300whp mark
  18. Thanks guys for the info... What are you going to use for a LSD?? I just picked up a clutch type LSD in the junkyard from a Z31 with around 60k miles.. Only $150 I cant wait to put it in.
  19. Nice.. Have you taken your car to the track at all. Just curious because eventually I would like to have a very similiar setup. Thanks Rob
  20. Hey z-ya.. Nice car, sorry to change topics but I have a quick question. I noticed your located in New Hampshire... Do you own a shop??? If so were in NH are you located?
