  1. Tons of info on the Rotas in the Group Buy section.
  2. Zrossa thanks, I will try looking around at race forums for old parts. But really, as you have said, many cars use flat plane cranks. It cant be all impossible to get one to work in an SBC or a nissan v8. What is the trick to making them manageable for street cars like ferrari, lotus or tvr?
  3. I know Ferrari has flat plane cranks, thats why i dont understand why its almost like black magic to have one made for a motor. I might try contacting Scat again. I really think this is a fun idea if i can find a company with experience and drive to make it happen. Crower didnt say that they had tried a VH45de flat plane, they just said that the motors they did try shook way too much. Clifton, you have any links to companies that were at SEMA that might be interested? I am wore out from searching the web for a while. Who wants to find the secrets of the Ferrari engine enternals, theirs dont seem to shake too much.. why?
  4. Cams for a vh45DE flatplane crank arent even going to be an issue for me. Well I started shopping around for a company that woudl make me a flat plane crank for the VH45DE and Scat didnt get back to me but Crower did. Crower told me that they WOULD NOT make me a flat-plane crank. That they had tried in the past and the resulting motor shook too much. So if the pros wont do it for any price i suppose there isnt many more options for myself on making an engine with a flat plane crank. Please chime in if you have any other options!
  5. I may have missed it being discussed. But about the Flat-plane SBC, what sort of cams would need to be created? or is that even a big issue for a cam maker to create? i think the dimensions BRAAP listed could work, but I am curious about the rest of the compnents to make it run.
  6. That is really quite encouraging to hear. I cant wait for my motor to be back from the machinist so the fun part can begin. what setup do you have and can i borrow your msq just to have a peek. It would be nice to get an idea of what a decently tuned setup looks like in megatune.
  7. Yeah, I remember reading a few threads but never really paid too close attention cuz i didnt think it pertained to me. Too bad theres no search function at supraforums.com now. I dont frequent that site much after finding this one Has anyone else experimented with the L28 and removing the shroud on the surge housing of an HY35?
  8. Well I just got my Holset in today. It is off of a 2007. I got lucky and got it for $230 shipped woohoo!!! Anyhow, to all those already using this turbo, did you remove the cover on the surge housing? It looks to have a metal shield over the surge portion of the housing. Is there any benefit to removing it? Also, can someone point me in the right direction as to what type of grinding tips i should use to port the wastegate hole?
  9. That is a good guide. I may try this. My turbo manifold is begging to be opened up and smothed out. Cygnus , have you tried this out?
  10. Holy Crap! that setup is the thing dreams are made of!!! You think you will ever get traction? maybe over 100mph?
  11. alright, that makes the decision easier. My plan is to use the stock turbo to get a rebuilt motor running on megasquirt and through emissions and such and then upgrade to the GT35R. As you guys said, no sense upgrading the stocker, specially when i already have plans to get a better turbo later.
  12. When rebulding, is there any place to buy a new upgraded compressor wheel so that it can go back together as an upgraded turbo? I have looked but could only kind one supplier for wheels but their site doesnt give any guidance as to which flows what. heres what i have found. http://www.turbocharged.com/catalog/comp_wheels.html
  13. So where does one get the "Victor Reinz intake/exhaust manifold gasket for the ’75-’76 280 Z" I am in a similar situation to and will be needing this gasket fairly soon.
  14. NA-T seems to be the cheaper route to having fun. Unless you want rediculous power (over 500whp), i dont think you will have issues with the 2jzge.
  15. try browsing and searching on www.supraforums.com there is an endless supply of info in the NA-T section. i do believe there are some differences in the pistons and such.
  16. Just curious , why do you say it will need to be redone yearly? fade? chipping? I am still debating whether or not to go the Rustoleum route.
  17. Just curious, has anyone tried any blue shades of the Rustoleum. I kind of like the Navy blue. I am also curious about maybe mixing Navy with the Sail Blue to see what that makes. Any input?
  18. He said he had other projects that are taking priority. That was about a month ago though.
  19. If a group buy happens for a R230 mustache bar I am in. When i contacted Arizona Z Cars they said that the R230 bar was on hold.
  20. Congrats, i cant wait to have a running car. That motor looks really cozy in your ZX.
  21. looks like it is coming along well. is that a pallnet fuel rail? i have mine on the way. I hope to be following in your footsteps in a couple of weeks. keep the pics comin'!
  22. ok! thanks alot. so i am getting from that thread that there isnt a good source for stock rods? i have to get aftermarket... and pistons too... this is getting pricey
  23. Why am I having such a hard time finding a good source for parts? I cant find any one that sells L24 rods. I wanted to do L28 crank, L24 rods and KA24 pistons.. but i seem to be at a loss for finding those rods.
  24. What width are those rims. I want to get those rims in an 8" wide size and want to see if they are wide enough to fill in a ZG flare.
  25. So is the puller program still in effect? I am ready to pull the pins on my car. One question though, when reassembling, do i need to put them back in? or can i just leave them out?
