  1. Route66 is the best car show ive ever been to and have been to everyone for the last 4 years. The SuperChevy show was a semi-close second. I highly recommend it. The atmosphere is great and they have over 2100 cars per day. Open header cruises, burnout contest, a long cruise route thats busy ALL day long and much more. I;ll warn ya tho..its gonna be HOT! Last couple years its been in the 100-107 range so leave your Z sweaters at home
  2. OMG that poor Taurus! ROFL...what a well thought out choice of bolt-ons. The bug deflector really sets it all off!!
  3. Cool pics. I gotta get back to the track myself. Just isnt the same without a car to run tho. Soon hopefully! Jason
  4. Its good that Chevy is showing new efforts towards performance on different platform with different methods. But, how many people are going to pay an est. 47K for a bulky SUV with that kind of power? Not many i'd imagine. On another note, if they can do this to a SUV, then WHY are they cutting the F-body line without a fresh try at it first?? Hello...GM? Redesign the Camaro to be more reliable, refined, agile and give it a hot new look...and then give the customer a 400+HP powerplant like this one and sell it for a competetive price. Performance people want SPORTS CARS with alot of bang for the buck..not $50,000 land yacht's. If they need sales..they better start designing what the majority wants. I think its great that they are designing boosted powerplants with the chance of actually making it avalable to the public. Its been along time since they've been so bold (smart). The GN is still a well known, desireable car. Then we had the Syclone/Typhoon, and although plagued with problems, they were great little trucks that got GM noticed. But, lately, all the low priced domestic boost has come from the Ford camp. Ford has surpasses Chevy in reliability AND sales (gee, imagine that ). I was once a DIE HARD CHEVY GUY..and even I drive a 2000 Ford F150 now. It's time for the longtime comatose GM camp to wake up and pull thier grilles out of their exhaust tips! Build it right for a good price and they WILL come. Jason
  5. Hey gang, Finally found the RIGHT elbow fittings to run as a feed point in my stock tanks drain plug hole. I got all the shiny new AN goodies and socketless hose sitting here. I'd like some opinions on fuel line and fuel pump placement for my 71 240Z please. Im was lookin at the space between the tank and the subframe for a possible mounting point for the fuel pump. My pump is close in size to a Holley Blue. Its a 140gph Summit pump. Pics of brackets, mounting and line placement would be great! Thanks guys, Jason
  6. Found this on Ebay. Looks to be a very nice car with good designing ( Atleast until you wanna roll up the windows and use the rear view mirrors). I thought it was well executed and you all would want to have a look. Enjoy! Jason http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=1847805790&indexURL=1#ebayphotohosting
  7. doh!!! Being a Chevy guy I have to give ya a big for that response.
  8. Hey Zya, Sounds like you arent so worried about the dyno numbers anymore eh? Mines next and crapstangs better run!
  9. I STILL can't believe Dan SOLD that CAR...
  10. I had some work done by a place in Kearny Mesa called BLUE CHIP. They did excellent work on my 96 Prelude Vtec..couldnt have been happier. I got recommended t them by a friend who was also very happy with the work. They do ALOT of high-end work for dealerships (Benz, Jaguar, Porsche etc) and I saw some pretty nasty wrecks leave their shop looking like new. Its been 4 years since I went there so Im not sure if the staff has changed, but i wanted to give you my input. Good luck on the route you take and sorry about your Z. Jason
  11. BRAVO!!!! Very entertaining! I want more
  12. ROFL! Yea thats just ALITTLE obvious. Nice dash (among many other clues..)
  13. You said it Terry! Everyone should take this as an eye opener. We all work hard to make our cars the envy of other people..be it by speed or looks or both. Going hand in hand with this is enjoying people looking at our cars and complimenting them. Just a reminder that they might like your mods enough to wanna make them THIER mods, and giving the opportunity to see an easy way to do it...these azzholes WILL! Take care of you and yours..I would hate to see this happen to any of us. Jason
  14. OMG ...me WANT! Those are shweet! Which are you going with? And would you be willing to sell the set you arent going to use? I dunno if you saw my last post but Im also in San Diego. I would most definately be interested in either of those rim sets! If you do end up selling a set...id like first chance at them! Jason
  15. Well WELCOME BACK stranger! I was starting to wonder about you. Did you get the message(s) I left ya? Just wanted to check in and see how everyone was doing. I hope all is well with everybody. I miss you guys. Got room at the new house for a new Z? Bigger and better, baby! Call me when you have time. I'm sure you got lots to say! Jason a.k.a ********
  16. Hey Datto Dude, the car turned out sweet! Thats almost exactly what Id like mine to looke like when Im done. Unfortunately, I wont be able to go quite that low due to exhaust off the V8. But the rims and ZG's look...vicious. Car looks like it means buisness. Inspirational for me..you are now officially my new wallpaper. Hope fully that will get me off this damn PC and back into the garage. BTW, Im also in San Diego, out El Cajon way. Maybe we could hook up sometime. Id love to see the car in person. Jason
  17. all i got from that was audio Am I the only one?
  18. what? NO VIDEO??? tisk tisk Man that would have been great conversation material for a lifetime!
  19. Oh, and... Trap speed is the actual speed measured over a set distance. The car breaks sensor beams at the finish line and at a set distance after the finish line. The computer uses time and distance to calculate the speed. For this reason you want to accelerate through the traps and beyond for an accurate MPH Regards, Jason
  20. OK ill jump in here. In my racing expoits I have indeed seen a slight improvement (sometimes) on MPH when i cut a better 60ft time. Makes sense to me because the 60ft time being faster means you have accelerated faster and have the opportunity to reach a higher speed because u are achieving speed (accelerating) faster by cuttin a better 60ft. However, MPH is a product of HP. You might gain or loose a couple MPH due to the cars line down the track, 60ft time, traction, chassis reaction etc..but even if you loose a full few tenths on the 60ft time, you should still run right about the same speed as if you ran a quicker 60ft. The 1/4 mile is enough distance for the HP to achieve roughly the same velocity no matter the traction at the line (within reason). my .02 Jason
