  1. I'll be sure to post them. Might be awhile tho as life has been busy lately. One thing that kinda erks me is the ol "zero offset is a must". I've heard that the Street Flares are 3" rear and 2" front, so to keep the tires in front and rear the same distance from their flares Im gonna have to do a 17x8"-3.5" BS front and a 7x9.5"-4" BS rear. Obviously neither front or rear are close to 0 offset, but I dont think .5" difference BS between the two will do anything major. But, Im no suspension pro...I guess Ill have to learn the hard way and hope for the best
  2. Yea Zya I feel your pain. Ive been the same indecisive way with the design/look of my Z. I think I am settling on doing 17's with MSA street flares (bolted on). 17x8 front and 17x9.5 rear with the tires tucked into the flare. I havent seen a car on 17s with these flares yet, so it would be some what unique. Also, Im VERY much a drag racer at heart and thought long and hard about the loss of sidewall with 17s and came to a conclusion. #1 is I shouldnt be draggin on the streets often enough to need a drag tire! #2 is 10" width of soft compound street tire should able to do the job as long as I dont mat it. But..if for some reason the car is a smoke show..Ill have to seek alternative means of traction. Either way it should look tuff i think
  3. Hey Greimann, Sounds like a sweet deal to me. Where did you have this done? I might have to tow the beast up there for a deal like that. Jason
  4. Ok thanks everyone. I suspected it would be a mixed response. Unfortunately the rims I want that are on sale are only available in 17x8...so Id have to get coilovers to make them work. Now I have to decide if its worth it. Save $$ on rims...and dump it right back into coilovers BTW ZYA, What ever happened to your convo-pros? Jason
  5. I have looked throught ALL the archives using search and I found very little info about 17" wheels with stock struts (tons regarding coilovers tho). The little info I did find was conflicting or vague. It looks like the max BS is 4"-4.5", and I havent found any info regarding an 8" rim fitting in the stock wheel well. Any help would be greatly appreciated here. I need to act fast!
  6. Well i got a vague reply. Not worth repeating here. Sounds like they do NOT have any other sizes besides whats listed and they will NOT change BS unless they happen to have the parts in stock to do so. Im with Chris on this one. WILL A 17X8" RIM FIT A STOCK 240Z WITH NO STRUT OR FENDER INTERFERENCE? abd btw i thought zero offset meant the BS and FS were identical?? So wouldnt a 8" wide rim with zero offset have 4" off BS?
  7. Hi folks, I'd like to order some 17x8" wheels but I need definitive answers on "YES they WILL fit....you will need THIS BACKSPACING" or "FAHGETTABOUTIT JASON" My 240 has stock struts and brakes with unmodified wheel wells (so far anyways). With the short sidewall of a 17" tire can i squeeze a 17x8 in there with no rub? Thanks! Jason
  8. Len, I just fired off an email to them enquiring about the same thing I like the Rhinos but I want something like 17x8" front and 17x9.5" rear for ZG flares. I just need some of the resident gurus to tell me what will fit best. Ill reply when I hear back from them with the info regarding custom Rhinos Jason
  9. Thanks much Phil for the heads up! Im looking real hard at the 17" BILLET RHINOS. I'd love to see them photoshopped onto a 240...but Im guessing they would look sharp The LOTUS might look good also. I want to do ZG flares with STOCK struts..I need to find out PRONTO what rim size and BS for the front and rear will fill the flares to the max without rubbing. ANYONE? I want the tires to fill the flares but NOT protrude or rub on compression HELP!
  10. From the time between gearshifts its sounds like maybe a 14 sec car...maybe. Ive seen tons of these econoboxes at the dragstrips and the fast ones (11s or better) 1-2 and 2-3 shifts come ALOT faster then that.
  11. Well this has me curious as to how my stall convertor will work out. It's yet to be proven as the car isnt quite ready to drive yet. I have a Xtreme energy 268 hyd cam and the stall is 2000-2200 I was told by tranny builder. Its a rebuilt Corvette convertor. He says it should stall at atleast 2000rpm behind my 400 horse 355. Zya, what was your issue with your current convertor? Did it require a high idle rpm? Pull through the brakes at stoplights? Just curious. Jason
  12. The type-R is an awesome car? I'm not talkin chit here..please no flames. Maybe they revamped it since I played against them? I had a 96 Prelude Vtec and I used to just walk on them..out cornered them too. Hmmm maybe they are a new beast(??) now?
  13. I recently bought my fiance a 87 Maxima V6 and it has the voice in it. Drives me nuts but to each their own.
  14. agreed on the late model Camaro with the LT1. My neighbor has one and I got to watch him change the plugs. Dropped both exhausts, the alternator and then some. GREAT design!
  15. I agree with Jim here. You should host it online and post the link. That way we mature *cough* adults can view the evidence and see to it that you get the knowledge to do it RIGHT next time. Ok...wheres the linky??
  16. I will concur with Greimann and the rest of the boys here on MOTHERS in the red can I too have used several brands and nothing works like the Mothers! Its awesome stuff...try it! Jason
  17. Cool deal. What are you going to do for engine management? The harnesses are butchered I see
  18. whoa...nevermind. Just took awhile to load. nice!
  19. Am I the only one that doesn't see any rims?
