  1. yeah. hopefully. i finally decided on what style to make. [pic is of a header made by full-race] the only difference is that my wastegate will be pointing up, to make it flow easier. this will make it pretty wide, so that's what prompted me to do the dual master cylinder mod. i got the pieces marked for the collector, now i figure out how to cut them...
  2. Funny this topic just came up. I've just started trying to make a turbo header for my SR20vet. 1 1/4" 316/316L sch 40 tubing. Working on the collector today. i'll get some pics when i actually get something done!
  3. mine is .063" as well. the penetration isn't super great so i'm going to weld on the inside too. I'm a sheetmetal worker by trade so i had access to a roller. I got laid off 2 days ago which sucks because they were giving me free material. hopefully the next shop i go to will have some extra aluminum too . i want to leave as much of the aluminum look as i can, so hopefully a cover on just the top will suffice.
  4. I just tested it outside and the sun has to hit them directly for them to glare,so the light would have to come in very high on the rear hatch, it may not even be a problem with the angle. I'm planning on having a slight tint so i dont think its going to be a problem for me anyways.
  5. the center console/center of the dash so far weighs around 4-5lbs [my scale isn't the easiest to read] i'm guessing it should be around 10-12lbs when its done. i dont see it weighing more than 15. the weight will be including the dash and center console. i had a suede half-cap style cover in one of my other drawings
  6. You're not mistaken, they are seat belt retractors. I've seen them in a Z at the pick'n'pull.
  7. those look pretty similar to the engine cover handle on my 74 volkswagen beetle. maybe they could be made to work somehow.
  8. I'm hoping that brushing the finish will make it dull enough so that it won't glare. i'll do a test soon.
  9. I've got a Z5 and my brother has a Z6, and we couldn't be happier. they offer a lot of functionality. and are pretty easy to use. low light focus tends to take a while though. i would consider them intermediate. as in, in between a DSLR, and a small P&S. here's some of my favorite pics. not perfect, but overall a very fun camera to use.
  10. thanks. heres a concept drawing i did a while ago of it. [ and a lotus elise style diffuser i've got in the works as well.] with any luck it'll turn out looking like it.
  11. ^^ those wheels look CRAZY! ^^
  12. no, the fwd/rwd dont bolt up. ive tried it personally. with a sr16ve block/ and a 6speed tranny. maybe half of the bolt holes line up. the accessories are different too. you'd also need to get a rwd intake manifold. there is however an adapter plate for using a fwd engine with a Z tranny, search on SR20forum.com to find out about it. or you could use the fwd head and get a rwd sr20 shortblock/tranny/intake manifold
  13. I think the confusion is coming from the mention of heat, in a discussion that regards areodynamics. Which seem to have nothing in common.
  14. Like a few other people I'm making a custom dash. I finally got around to starting on it this week because of the time i got off. I'm either going to weld on the inside, and smooth the outside to make it like one piece, or i'll [still weld the inside] and do a second pass to make the bead look nice. what do you think? the finish is going to be brushed aluminum with possibly a suede half cap going along the top. this is what its supposed to look like, i haven't got the end pieces cut out yet though.
  15. I love seeing pictures of completed Z's...looks great.
  16. thanks a lot for posting that engine adapter site. I was looking for something like that because I've got a '57 oval that i plan on chopping the top on and doing an early ford front end coversion on. like this http://www.socalook.com/gallery.shtml i thought it would be so cool too see an old flathead V8 peeking out the back to keep with the rat rod theme.
  17. try a search, the info is out there for this subject
  18. i just welded in one of my rear camber plates. planning on doing more though.
  19. if it helps any... i think the R1 looks cooler. therefore, it would make you cooler while riding it.
  20. i just spotted one [an S30] in the traffic of a trailer for a new movie, about an hour ago, i didn't catch the movie though.
