  1. you can put a fwd sr20 into a z fwiw, someone made an adapter plate for the fwd sr20 block to the Z tranny.
  2. I've been busy today... I also did some work on my intercooler endtanks. [pics to come.]
  3. My name is Hanson, and I approve of this smily.
  4. This has happened to me about 3 times now. I've got a lincoln PT185 with a #17 torch, and when i use an alumina type gas lense cup, the front part [where it starts getting smaller] breaks off, its happened on old lenses, and new lenses where i've only gotten a few minutes of welding in. My cameras dead right now, but if you need pictures to understand, I can get a camera. What gives?
  5. fall audrey hepburn or some other girl.
  6. Im reusing an old thread instead of starting a new one. Ive made a little progress on my intake manifold now that i have a 50amp breaker for my tig. I was throwing the breaker at 185 amps, still, but I could get a bit of welding done before it shut off. I just jumped right in and welded the base of the intake manifold onto the cast runners. its not that pretty but it didn't crack So now i have to open up those holes. Any suggestions? I've been using files and a carbide bit in a dremel, but that keeps filling up with aluminum, and its gettting pretty annoying having to take the bit out and clean it. It'd take at least a few hours to do it if i kept going at the same rate.
  7. s15 tranny ratios taken from the fsm 1 3.626 2 2.200 3 1.541 4 1.213 5 1.0 6 .767 I have one. [car doesn't run yet] I like shifting.
  8. that thing needs some wheels to fill out those flares.
  9. wats would be right around the same price. all in all i paid about 2300 for mine. my 16x9's weighed about 20lbs
  10. you could look for some wheels made for 240sx's the 4 lug versions are 4x114.3
  11. it will sit long ways, the bottom is angled down towards the back
  12. surge tank partially done. i need now to weld on mounting tabs and the AN bungs
  13. Here' some of the progress on the suspension. I need to get another 280z stub axle. i mushroomed one of them trying to remove it from the car in the picknpull. I think i'm going to redo this arm, i got kinda crazy trying to makethe weld smooth, but afterwards decided it wasnt such a good idea. this is a bit of assembly i did on the shortblock...
  14. WHEELS I'm not really rich or anything, I just spend all of my money on my car. The wheels are the same as austin's 16x9.5, and 16x9, tires are 255/50/16 for the rear and 245/45/16 on the front. I didnt realize the 50s would be so much bigger, but hopefully they'll fit up there. the wheels will be further out than that, once i actually have the suspension in there. and the zg's mounted... right now ive been focusing on being able to roll this thing around before i leave for school in late june. I've got most of the suspension assembled together. But I just dont work on her enough.
  15. Yeah the chunky oldschool look was kind of what i was going for. Idk yet if the sidewall is too much yet.. I guess i'll see once i set it on the ground again. I'm not the hugest fan of the stretched sidewall look...and i didnt really like how i would have had [ if i had done what everyone else chooses] wider wheels in the back with the same sized tire as the front. kinda pointless imho. anyhow, we'll see how it looks in a bit. p.s. I was inspired by zguy95315's car in this pic. I like the amount of sidewall there. p.p.s I got the front wheels from 240zmaster "quoc" and the rears are 240ztt's old [barely used] wheels, that i found in the classifieds.
