  1. Ah. It will have to be april's meet I go to.. my car will be receiving a transplant next weekend. Also, got my MSA h4 lights dialed in.. much better than stock. Also got my lokar throttle cable in.
  2. Productive day! Bought all my exhaust studs, ported my intake mouth for the 60mm TB. Got the intake tapped for vacuum and found out why the map sensor wasn't working (it was soldered in backwards ). Going to have my 14mm fuel rail converted to 11mm, and had the J pipe dropped off to get the IAT bung welded on.. good day. Hoping to have everything ready this week, don't think it will go in till next weekend. Whens the next meet?
  3. Bloz... please let me see your car in action..
  4. Not sure bud, I'm going to be using the 440cc injectors out of a 7mgte.. they are cheap too. Also, with those HP goals? Why not turbo?
  5. Source the towers from another engine if you can.
  6. Heres a video of some progress: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cuSGr1iIsTs&list=UUxfaXVq0Q6N1ufKDkOVWiSA&index=1&feature=plcp
  7. Just posting to say you have one clean looking zx.
  8. Timing cover painted. Gotta work on stripping the valve cover and painting that too.
  9. Block and oil pan painted. Oil pan came out a little runny.
  10. 3.1 Turbo has been done.. makes it a lot easier to get to 400 hp if that's what your looking for. As far as it being worth it.. well.. thats really up to you. It doesn't cost a terrible amount to go stroker, what costs people a lot when they go 3.1, is all the other stuff because they are going a high compression N/A build..
  11. well. if its a t3/t4, get an adapter and put in othe manifold.. as long as there is clearance it will work.
  12. If you can get dished pistons, your compression would remain the same. However if you have flat tops, I believe the compression is 8.4-9 or something like that.. still safe on low psi boost.
  13. Heres a shot of my white ZX next to my dad's 83 s130.
  14. after a little more digging, I didn't search enough. From what I understand, I need to lock the mechanical advance but leave the vacuum advance alone?
  15. Just bought my 280zx today, I have s30 as well. Heres the pic next to my dads s130 (mines the white one)
  16. I will have the engine assembled on the stand by next weekend.. and I'll snap some pics of the new z.
  17. I am very close to doing my turbo swap. I have a N/A ecu and wiring harness, along with a N/A dist (although I do have a turbo dist). I will be using megasquirt to run my fuel, however I have no way to hook a turbo dist up.. so my plan is to use the N/A vacuum advance dist, while having megasquirt manage my fuel.. Will this even work?
  18. Oh boy. Just bought a 82 zx rolling chassis from my brother. Interior is pretty dirty but surprisingly complete. Body had minor dings, but not bad. Looks like I have a second project now. I'll end up putting a l28et in there as well... all in good time.
  19. Going to get my valve cover and the rest of the oil pan sand blasted. Also going to have to tap my shaved manifold for my boost gauge and one for my brake booster. Going to purchase a throttle cable kit this week, because im ditching the stock linkage for the 240sx TB set up.. I feel like thats going to be a pain to fab. I also have to build a case for my megasquirt. Also.. bought a new fan today for 10 buck from another member who had a sweet 280zx...and found a 15/16 master cylinder lying around in my garage, yay.
  20. Also, thoughts on an aftermarket fuel pump (walboro 255) with the stock FPR? Edit: Screw it. Bought a walbro 255, also purchased a new center console to go with my dash cap and new door panels.
  21. Just purchased my LC-1 Wideband o2 system, boost gauge, megasquirt harness, IAT sensor.. and a sachs flywheel + pressure plate and clutch from o reillys. this baby is ready to go in. I might have it in by next weekend. This weekend I will have all engine components painted. Oh.. and ordered my red taylor hi pro spark plug wires and finally some upgraded headlights.
