  1. I call this one Formula Z...This is very close to what I want to do for my Z. Notice the headight covers aren't standard ones but are "pushed in" a little bit I'll have some more good ones coming up soon. Once I get exactly what I want to do then I'll start doing some color. The car willmostlikely be gloss black with some Xbox green accents used VERY sparingly. Maybe a thin pinstripe and then a little on the interior. The motor will be rediculous though.
  2. The mustang T-5s are known for exploding third gear from a couple articles I read a while back in grassroots motorsports. Somehow I completely missed this thread. I guess I was at college trying to get an education. Well I am guessing that your closet of Z stuff will be a little more cluttered now...
  3. click on the link in my sig for pics. I am trying to start a group buy of custom dashboards. If I donate a dashboard I would want it to be used on the actual race car. If a build were to start we could then decide half or full dash.
  4. If there is ever another Z on pinks for HybridZ I'll donate a custom dashboard to the cause.
  5. I have done the suspension on my Z with coilovers with 225/250lb springs and illuminas all the way around. Also poly bushings except for the T/C rod. The improvements that that made helped big time. I am now starting to work on my aero improvements. I have a splitter cut out that goes back to the engine cradle crossmember. I am trying to figure out what I am going to do for side skirts and rear diffuser. I think for sie skirts I'll use some thick rubberand once I get my fuel cell mounted I'll then do the diffuser at the rear. Also putting the exhaust out of the diffuser airflow so that the car doesn't lift at shift points. I am robably going to be widening the body on my Z by 2" on each side and use the space inbetwen the panels to flow air from the engine bay and exit at the back of the car.
  6. stock drivetrain with an automatic tranny!!! driving that would be like...like... kissing your sister. why would you do it? lol
  7. ooh...I think this car can be pretty quick...plans?
  8. Here is a picture from that shoot. I'm even wearing the funky safety glasses. If I had thought about it I would have brought my good safety glasses. I also got loaned the shooting jacket so that was cool. I was wearing ear plugs under the muffs...
  9. Well we could have won but there were problems during the build that things were not done until the last minute that could have been done earlier. There are other things of why we lost but those aren't important now.
  10. Thanks John. I guess it is a bad habit that carried over from paintball which I have played much longer than I have been shooting the real stuff.
  11. If we are playing paintball...I can usually put one on your chest from a good 120 feet and it will burst...generally I use a 2 shot burst in case the first round hits a branch or is off-round and pulls to one side. My sniper rig is a Tippmann 98 basic with a super long 20" barrel and a bushnell 3x-9x scope. I also use a little red dot HUD scope. I made the ghillie myself. Also included in my arsenal are some weapons for psychological warfare... Sonic Grenade (130db siren in a special military fire resistant grenade holder) High gain listening device so that I can listen in on the opponets conversations and then radio back to my team their plans. I am working on a camera system for my little electronic spyder so that I can poke it around a corner and look at a 1" camera style monitor mounted on my visor.
  12. right click, save as for all of these http://www.volksrods.com/ReubTrack2.mpeg http://www.volksrods.com/ReubDriveby.mpeg this one below soundes a little like my z did from the inside. don't know if that is bad or good http://www.volksrods.com/Dayzwalker1.mpeg
  13. no no...there is a swap to put a VG30DETT on a vw tranny...were talkin a 1000 horsepower vw bug... never mind.. well here is the site with the WRX powered bug. there are a bunch of cool chopped, raked, and rodded bugs here. video page: http://www.volksrods.com/id107.htm
  14. Well since the fiberglass bodied dune buggies are lighter it would be easy for them to do. There are some videos out there of a 2.5 liter WRX powered beetle and it is completely insane. Bugs weigh like 1400 pounds stock and stripped down they are like 1200 plus whatever big fat motor you attach to the vw tranny. There are engine swap kits for anything from a rotary to a trition V10(for the pricey mendeola trannies). I'll try to find that other video
  15. are you using A/C? I say strip off everything that you can since you don't have to take an emission test.
  16. ok...I heard of a place over in Lilburn that does headers and thought it might be them. Sounds it will help flow a bit being polished on the inside.
  17. Just have it pop up for everyone under 150 posts and then for the rest of us for the next 50 posts...That way everyone gets bugged enough by clippie or whatever that paper clip's name is.
  18. and this one http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x7qFP9aPRD8 classy little car...I'll build one one day.
  19. I know of one member here has done a model of an S30Z but don't know of anybody that has done a ZX. I think it was AK-Z that did it and he did an AE-86 as well.
  20. Thanks guys! I had just learned the proper way to shoot prone the night before I went to that shoot. That target is a 300 yard reduction for a 100 yard range FYI. I have a little 3x-9x bushnell scope on my paintball gun under all that shag. That gun shoot was mostly AR-15s and M1 garands. There was one WW2 Japanese rifle and a few cool Russian ones. I had an M1 Garand clip come flying and bounce off my head right as I was about to fire on one of those. I think it is the one at the very bottom of the pic. lol I hope to go again soon. I got the best first timer award and won $5. I think there were 5 or 6 first timers and 30-40 experienced guys. I just had a lot of fun that day even though it was freezing cold.
  21. I have a way around the T3. I have thought out a way and I'll have some sort of valve to engage the instant pressure turns to vacuum in between the T3 and the bigger turbo. It will be a simple vacuum switch that will open a passage around the T3 when I am at WOT in higher RPMs. I have been playing with this consecutive idea for a while but the restrictive T3 was holding me back from thinking it usable. When I woke up one morning and had the idea of an intake bypass wastegate kind of idea to pass the T3. There was a thread a while back where the restriction was discussed and nobody came up with an answer to the problem on a consecutive turbo system. I spent plenty of time in my school library reading about turbocharger systems and there was a CAD picture of a consecutive system for a truck and that is when I saw that an "anti-vacuum valve" could be placed around the high pressure turbocharger and vent air to the low pressure turbo when the high pressure turbo has reached full air flow.
  22. do you have to pass emissions? if not then rip all that junk off. I am soo glad I don't have a 280Z just because of that pile of mess in the intake.
