  1. but I am not diong side by side turbos...my setup will initially us a stock turbo manifold and mostly stock turbo with a huge wastegate. then all the exhaust will go into the holset turbo. I'll need to fab an elbow from the t3 to the hy35w and all of the wastegate tubing. the first wastegate will dump into the holset to help it spool sooner. I won't be making much boost overall (maybe 15psi top) but I will have good boost for most of the power band. Better to have lower boost with no lag than to have high boost and lots of lag.
  2. Well The burgers here at college are pretty good so and I am thinking about getting a blender to use. I think I'll sell my bike since it is in really good condition except for the fact that the derailer needs to be adjusted a little bit... It has a front disc brake and rear caliper, front and rear suspension, 21 speeds, 2" wide tires... Was $200 new..will take $75 for it...aluminium frame...pickup and cash only...lol
  3. Thanks a lot guys yeah...trying to get a safer means of transportation first since the Z will be down for a good while...
  4. It was a mountain bicycle. and I have some good pain meds. They gave me morphene at the hospital... liquid diet for a few weeks at least. getting my jaw wired shut tomorrow
  5. well I was riding my bike to panera bread to hop on hybridz for a little bit but something bad happened... I was accelerating going downhill and when I stood on the right pedal the chain came off of the front sprocket and when my foot went own very fast I pulled right on the handlebar which directed my front wheel into the curb. I went straight down the bike lane and landed on my jaw at about 20mph. It is broken at each rear side and just to the right of my left incisor tooth. I am going in for surgery on Monday. I really need a vehicle now and will probably look at getting a new ranger or B3000 to drive.
  6. well While I have been away at college the transmission and other parts that were on the garage floor got condensed down into the car. The tranny is in the passenger seat and the intake setup is in the trunk area. The 944 can now reside in the garage along with the Z... Still looking a rebuildable F54 block since a certain member decided he did not REALLY want his name on my Z...J/K there. Anyway I really am looking for an exhaust manifold and turbo to begin mocking up a turbo system on my L26. The plan is to do soething completely different. Ithas been discussed on here before a long time ago. Consecutive turbochargers. I will probably use a stock turbo and then an HY35W as the second stage turbocharger. The plan is to always be making boost from 2300 to the top end. I have made several different ideas to keep the primary turbo from starving the secondary turbo of air. Lots of cool ideas brewing in my brain here at college.
  7. Does E-radatz do motors? I am guessing not but the PO of my car said they rebuilt my motor...but he also said it had dual webers but it has SUs...lol
  8. well I rode my bike down to panera so I'll be here for a litle while. I have made a couple more sketches and will try to upload them.
  9. Yes I am dorming..The whole college is wireless but Only 150 web sites are allowed and they are all related to the courses being taken...I can go to the Panera bread that is like a mile away and have unlimited internet... I don't mind...I'll be back full time during christmas break when I am trying to get some sort of engine back in my car and get it driving..
  10. all right guys...I am about 90% packed and leaving early tomorrow morning. Z forever!
  11. I saw this and was thinking it was just a hybrid someone had done with an old car...boy was I wrong. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UQ1tIWJOWP4 watch it...
  12. I think the late 260 has the suspension identical to a 280. I have an early 260 and it has the 240 suspension.
  13. looks like you need to pull out the lawn mower buddy...you might find a car...
  14. yeah that is it..I was thinking mopar for some reason...thanks for correcting me. I ran my coilovers for a while with the rear end lifted way up and it was pretty cool. I changed it back to lower because it would handle weird through hard corners...
  15. It looks like you are dropping a lot of spark with that. My stock Ignition unit would do that and I replaced it with the bottom of the line MSD unit and the car ran better than it ever had. No sparks dropped at all. My setup is completely different though (N/A 2.6, SUs...). That is what makes me think your ignition unit needs replacing.
  16. check over on zcar as someone took some stock mopar springs and modified them to fit on the Z. You could just put some spring spacers in your OE springs and then lift it up. Or you could do coilovers and have huge adjustability...
  17. I was thinking something like one of those GT wings would be great with the chopped top. You would want to mount it to your frame under the hatch that you welded. (you probably knew that) 300 pounds is not bad at all. The problem with Titanium is you have to TIG weld it in a closed chamber filled with Argon. What is the AlBeMet? I mean what are alloy componets?
  18. so Boodlefoof, what are you thinking for a rear wing or are you going to have one at all? Your car is going to be sweet if you ever get a windshield made...I think the windshield is going to be harder to get than your space-frame... I love that pic of the body of your car on the ground. I would like to do something like that one day but built like the Maserati Birdcage with small(er) sized tubing. *addition* I think a lighter frame could be built with the smaller size aluminium tubing and lots of triangualtion. you could probably shave a hundred pounds off of your frame by doing the small tubing. Here is a picture of a birdcage if you have never seen one. Of course it would have to be TIG-AC welded. I'm not critising your design at all as yours is just fine. You probably know a lot more than me about frame design. And since you don't have a full frame jig to build off of it would be hard to make the birdcage design cage.
  19. whatever you want to use and what you like. I would use the Autometer "Z series" on a stock dash. It has a plain, easy to read black face with red pointers. Plus they won't break the bank to buy. Just my opinion. I don't like white face guages at all on a Z.
  20. Try it on a scrap piece of aluminium before you do it on paint... I used Mother's aluminium polish to finish my paint part of my Rustoleum paint job. Worked pretty well.

    color

well...the white one would have an advantage..less bodywork since the white paint hides imperfections so less bondo is used...less bondo means less weight...less weight means a higher horsepower/weight ratio... Can't think of any HUGE difference that would be noticable at all.
  22. there are so many things you can do with a good ol' VW Bug...lol
  23. I think Rustoleum makes a roll on primer as well.
  24. black gold..with a Magnum P.I. look-a-like.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=owK0sWEMN3k
