  1. You may want to try something else. Unless you are running a tubular front end I would not reccomend it. Maybe if you made a big hoo out of tubular steel like 4x4 guys use except mount it on the inside of the fender for support.
  2. thank you...I may want someone to powdercoat some of this when I get it finished...or I may just polish it...
  3. never mind...the pics just showed up. You may wan to wetsand a little more so that it is all even. I used 400 grit and it does a good job after the first two coats. It looks good!
  4. cool...dead pic links btw. I'll check your gallery.
  5. I'm right with you pete. IO have a problem whee two of my vertrabre are still cartilage so they are soft. I can't play any heavy contact sports like football or hockey. Several years ago I was rollerblading in a park and while I was going down a paved trail I hit a bump where a root had gone under the asphalt. I fell straight on my rear and that is when things started. It was an hour ride to the hospital in horrid pain. When we got there I sat in a hard all steel mesh wheelchair for more than an hour. They finally got me into a room where I stayed for about 3 hours. I was having horrible back spasams that would really really hurt. They tried giving me childrens level painkiller since I was a minor but that was like giing me a tylenol. I finally got a shot in the rear and that took about half the pain away and they sent me home about 6 hours after I got to the hospital. I was in pain for more than a week so I never want to experience anything like that again and hope you recover quickly in time for VIR.
  6. yeah...plus the front end was stretched out like 6".
  7. I am thinking of putting another layer on this stuff above the air dam to help block off the huge mouth. Comments and suggestions welcome anytime.
  8. the new low...time to install that splitter now that the edging is in place..just if I had metal cutting tools...I trimmed that passenger side that is too long...
  9. make sure you want your z down for at least a month while you wire it...lol...there will be complications in wiring. I plan to get the wiring completely finished by mid July. I had about 6 or 7 wires crammed under fuses running ghetto wiring for stuff like fuel pump, radiator fan, fan timer, etc...I finally decided it was enough and ripped the corruption out.
  10. it seems that that viper Z is the same as it was last year...go figure...
  11. he saw my Z in a million pieces in the garage and says he has a friend that has like 5 Zs...and he proudly pronounced that he is a honda guy and has a prelude that runs high 14s...I just mentioned my crappy ol' L26 with SUs and that lost him...lol I like it when ricers think their stock car is fast since it does not "need" the vtec on their old junker...I just told him that I had never raced on a drag strip...
  12. thanks. I have noticed several weird things with teh original harness plus wires were corroding very fast. This will help keep everyone from commenting about the wires hanging down in the passenger side floorboard.
  13. aha...I am justgoing to buy the mr2 illuminas for the front and move the front ones to the back and try to sell the rears. There are only a thousand miles on these illuminas and there will probably be 3000 or so when I want to sell them. If I were you I would mount them about 8 inches down since you like that stance. It is still not low enough for me. The height would be great for a daily driver since I hardly ever scrape anything. I am mounting my garden edging today and maybe my splitter. It is just so hot out there. Yesterday it was around 100 and no wind. it is so humid too.
  14. use 400 after the first two coats.. then move to like 600 after two more coats and use 1000 and 1500 after your final two coats. I only have 400 grit but lowes just got some 600 grit so I am going to go pick up a pack of it. Now I need some 1500 grit... all of that by hand.
  15. I just installed new carbon-metallic shoes and adjusted the e-brake. I am going to make a better video once I get my new electrical system made up.
  16. If I were to tell you how I did it that would not be good. I would highly suggest getting the strut tubes sectioned and then do the mounts. I may go ahead and section my struts next year since my front struts are sitting very low. I have like 2 inches of strut above the top of the strut cap so you should definitely section them. I am going to raise the car back up a little so I don't have to worry about bottoming out since I don't have bump stops. My ride height is actually too low for the stock length struts. I used 7" threaded collars that were positioned where the bottom of the collar was 8" from the top of the strut tube. The 10" springs are roughly 1" from the bottom of the collar. I am going to get real upper spring perches rather than my ghetto ones.
  17. yeah...you cam blow up a 180x135 photo all day long but you can't increase the resolution...I looked all over that site and found no other photos...you should not need them that much though...just place it where you want it and then make braces out of aluminium tubing.
  18. nice looking. I have diamonds on my Z as well
  19. the ad says RB20... it also says ZR-2 2/2. No price though...

  21. most of the time around here people are honking, not paying attention, on the phone, or saluting (the road salute...) so it is funny to see something different every once in a while.
  22. here is the progress so far. I am getting ready to put connectors on all those wires.
