  1. you even have hand formed fenders??? lol I don't think too many people are brave enough to do that...
  2. I never put mine back on when I put my car back together. I will be putting it back on though. I can notice a little extra body roll in the rear as well. I thinks it helps the car understeer though. having a stiff front suspension and a soft(er) rear suspension is what does it. I was thinking that having the front suspension stiff would make it respond better but it also makes understeer. When I stiffened up my rear tocikos and made the fronts softer it improved the handeling a lot. The car is really neutral in the 30-50mph range on very curvy roads which it was not before. Before it was understeer city becaust of the really stiff front setup.
  3. just be sure to get the warranty with the HF helmet. I have seen a few HF helmets go bad. The owners had a warranty so they got to swap for a new one. My first one I completely burned up and finally got holes burned it from doing about 120 hours of flat, horizontal, vertical stick welding. 60 hours of all positions mig, and like 40-50 hours of tig. That is all actual weld time over one and a half years. The last six months of welding school I had my new HF helmet that is highly modified. I'll get a pic of it.
  4. that is really nice...and different.I like the bulge coloring.
  5. eh...not a two-tone green...just a two tone...I'll post some pics... here is a modified pic of my car...it is green...lol I'll try other colors. here is 240hoke's Z... he just painted it blue. He is standing behind the car.
  6. there are quite a few things that set my car off from most most any other Z on here. I think I am the first person ever to attempt a two-tone with a roller method of applying paint. I have "hand formed" lol fender flares. I have these mounted in my fender: I don't know of any other 17 year old (last year) that has dissassembled a transmission, diagnosed the problem, and repaired it. I have this very unique header when I put my coilovers on I put the front struts on backwards. I had them all bolted up and everything and then noticed when I tried to put the brake caliper on that the bracket was on the wrong side of the strut... DOH! no pictures of that though... here is my last one...got to show my loyalty!!! I am making my own custom wiring harness... Attached pic is new fuseboxes and new relays
  7. that looks pretty cool...just have the black part flat black.
  8. nope... not yet. I'll come up with another...I thought that one looked funny...
  9. can't go wrong with a HF helmet...and their warranty... I used a HF helmet for about 40 hours of actual weld time in the overhead position with stick welding and it is pretty scorched but the electronics work good still.
  10. haha...lolI've never seen the movie but my brother said there was a Z in it but he did not know if it was a Z or ZX...lol go figure...I have obviously failed in teaching him about Zs... the 2+2 was probably cheaper too...
  11. you need to figure out how to properly do green...like british racing green but better...hmm...that would be cool. maybe a black with green metalflake??? hmm?
  12. the mouth may be too big...opinions?
  13. new sketch uploading...had to finish the car before I could do the paint outline...it is not finished eihter...I think it needs some revision.
  14. :-D:-D:-D:-D:-D:-D:-D:-D:-D:-D:-D:-D:-D:-D:-D:-D:-D:-D:-Dthat is just pretty nice...actually it is really nice... incredible...
  15. yeah...I am just this little humble country boy with an electrical engineer dad... some day when I do a turbo or supercharger project I may have him do a fuel control but it may just be easier to get megasquirt. there is a lot of development time involved in it. The stock system is really simple but making the DIS will be a little more complex with the crank trigger and multiple coils...
  16. lol...I have to quit my sketch as the F.O.R.D. Exploder needs some work...third taillight is out...
  17. I doubt it... I have some bigger plans...my dad is starting a project where he is going to learn about how to make an ignition module..he has all the parts except one and he ordered that. he then will be able to develop my fully programmable distributorless system.
  18. haha... my parent's would probably kill me if I put a rising sun on my car...that or a confederate flag...
  19. hey!!! if you would stop posting so much I will be able to finish this sketch!!!
  20. and you took my rising sun idea!!!!!! J/K...lol
  21. yeah... we really need a drawing sub-forum...wink *cough* admins *cough* wink nudge nudge......
  22. cool. I may start masking off tonight...I am really bored and don't really want to do much electrical work as the ign. unit I have just died...well...I killed it... doh!
  23. I don't know if this has been done on a z before but I think I am going to do it...I am going to get some of that pearly white rustoleum to do the teeth. I have red and black. Of course the huge mouth will be a natural candidate for this mod. I may paint the radiator crossmembers red to match as well. I have been pondering this idea for a while buit haven't thought of a good way to do it yet. Now that I am a rustoleum guru I think it can be easily done. I may do the rest of the car in rusto-rod fashion. I am just not a body prep kind of guy. panels are not straight, gaps are off...I am rolling paint on a car with a roller!!! what am I? definitely someone that wants to do cool stuff for very cheap. $$$$ is going into go-fast parts and I don't want to have a two or three grand paintjob that someone is just going to slam their door into since my car is not a "show car" and never will be. If I can be cool for a 10th of the cost or less of the go fast parts then I'll do it...that means rolling paint and doing radical designs with it. I am building this road warrior to be underestimated. Most v8 guys laugh at the chunks of 1/4in. bondo that are showing hanging off. I don't really care...I can beat lots of v8 trucks, cars, and whatever but once I hit a curve they are history. They just think that since they have a v8 they are fast... time to put the proper face on this road warrior. I am also getting a proper exhaust tip...machine gun style. one day my car will be a nice track day car but not now...now is rat-rod style...
