  1. Search damnit! There has been a very good write up on installing the S2000 start button in the cigarette lighter. !M!
  2. Reminds me of those Hypercolor t-shirts that were cool about 10-12 years ago. The paint isn't all that expensive either. I like it! !M!
  3. Yes and no. I should have been more clear. The '88 SS (white with white wheels) has a viscous limited slip that can be swapped into your 280Z IF you have the correct half shafts to go along with that particular differential. Here's a list so you know what car had what differential and what gear ratios: Differential listing !M!
  4. I know this is Hybrid Z and all, but how come a switch to the N/A engine? !M!
  5. '85's did not come with a limited slip differential from the factory. Limited slip differentials came in the cars with the build date of 4/87-89 (turbo's only). Within that time, the '88 SS edition (white with white wheels) is a viscous limited slip and requires different halfshafts. !M!
  6. Aw, nuts! I wish I knew you had that Scottie. I need a turn signal switch, mine is shot. !M!
  7. Sweet car, but my sister thinks they look like a Hurse. !M!
  8. I love the looks of them! But was instantly turned off when I heard one with an aftermarket exaust system, and it sounded like crap! Like a small 6 cylinder... come to think of it, are they offered with a 6 banger? !M!
  9. Figured I would throw this link into the discussion: Early Z Aerodynamics !M!
  10. Ah, Mike you could have done worse. My cousin who was 17 at the time, was in a similar situation. Water was only about three feet deep and he was driving a friends mid size car, I think it was a white, mid '80's Grand Am (this was a few years ago). Well, from what a spectator told the police, he turned around and got a running start at the water... about 70 mph. Car hit the water and hydro planned, then started to turn to the right and was completely sideways when the car lost momentum and the tires grabbed the pavement below and with the help of the water, flipped the car several times. Car came to rest on its roof, underwater with the driver, my cousin knocked out. He was pulled out by the spectator and is lucky to be alive. Had that person not been there to witness his stupidity and have the right mind to help, my cousin would have drowned. To this day, he doesn't remember any of this. I believe there is a picture of the car under water in the local news paper with this story. !M!
  11. Looks like a professional install, pretty sweet Love the prop for the gauge !M!
  12. I think you linked to a thumbnail image, unless you want all of us to get out our magnifying glasses !M!
  13. This is what we get when the link is clicked: No photos are available Sorry, mclark998 has not enabled any public albums in their account. !M!
  14. If I remember right, Jap spec 300ZX (Z31) turbos had differential coolers factory installed. Might be worth checking out. !M!
  15. I tried searching but didn't find what I was looking for. Here's the deal, I went into a local driveshaft shop and asked if he could shorten and balance my driveshaft. He looked at me and said, "You're supplying the parts, right?" Didn't know I had to for $71. I have Scottie-GNZ's old drive shaft that I can use for my GNZ, but I don't have the 'Vette differential. I have the drive shaft adapter flange from JTR for the R200 differential, but what part do I need to buy for the drive shaft? Something that will use a DANA 1310 U-joint. On a side note, the amount of metal that holds the u-joint on the drive shaft adapter flange from JTR, doesn't it look pretty thin? I mean for the amount of torque that goes to the rear end, it looks like I'll break the u-joint right out of that sucker, but I have not heard of that happening before. !M!
  16. You have to make your album publicly accessible, otherwise we can't see the pictures. !M!
  17. First, I got to say, Mike the dash is turning out pretty damn good! Keep us updated. Secondly, Owen, when you're in Carlsbad, my buddy just moved there, so if you see a stock black Subaru WRX, tinted windows, and plates from Illinois, show him what a Hybrid Z is, would ya? He's been calling me almost every other day telling me how great Cali' is and how many Z cars he has seen. !M!
  18. Then attach the strut rod to one '99 F-150 and the strut assembly to a '95 Chevy 1500 and floor the Chevy to pull them apart... or in my case, drag the Ford. !M!
  19. Thanks! I can't wait to see it running either. Scottie's engineering and parts now live in mine, so in a way, you can see his . It won't be anywhere near as fast as his this year, but out accelerating and out cornering 99% of the cars around here should be a lot of fun . !M!
  20. I saw the video on the news, but that picture puts things into a whole new perspective. Poor people !M!
