  1. My theme (if you want to call it that) is: Stock appearing with some subtle updates and a dash of 'what the hell?' thrown in. No fender flares, lowered ride height, updated wheels and one kick ass engine = a lot of fun in my eyes 8) !M!
  2. Take a board or a book (something flat and hard), a bathroom scale and a stick (2X2, 2X4, broom stick, ect.). Measure the spring and cut the stick 1 inch less than the length of the spring. Place the spring on the bathroom scale, then place the stick inside the spring, then place the board ontop of the spring and now slowly push down on the spring untill the board hits the stick. Now read the scale. Really simple and it gives you a pretty good idea of what the spring rate is. !M!
  3. Pretty much. If you have used a torque wrench for some time, you will know what 45 lbs. feels like. If you haven't, then really snug the gland nut down, but don't put so much force on it that you are turning red in the face. If the gland nut bottoms out, then throw a washer(s) in the bottom of the strut tube. !M!
  4. Now that is interesting Someone had one heck of a vision 8) !M!
  5. A buddy of mine with a 280Z has 275's out back on the 17" Cobra wheels. They just fit on his unflared car. He does have coilovers though. !M!
  6. Ah... *stretches hands over head and cracks knuckles* it's so nice being self employed 8) . !M!
  7. Why reinvent the wheel? The JTR mounts are proven to work even in high horse power cars. Is changing the mounts just for aesthetic reasons? !M!
  8. http://www.pegasusautoracing.com/ Has the Hypercoils at a pretty decent price. I like going there to see all the neat stuff they have (they are only a couple minutes from me 8) ) !M!
  9. I now use http://www.digistash.com and have had no problems. !M!
  10. I typed in "crap for brains" and got this: 清水 Shimizu (clear water) 駿 Shun (fast person) !M!
  11. That is exactly what I was saying to myself. Beautiful fab work Matt. (what happpened to the dang "two thumbs up" dude?) I didn't make the ones Doug posted' date=' but I wish I had, they look really nice. I found the original post about the control arms I made. It was about 2.5 years ago. I totaly forgot about the loads from the sway bar. I would have to attach the sway bar to the strut tube. Adjustable control arm post !M!
  12. MSD Multiple Spark Discharge EDIT: You already got it Jon !M!
  13. That's the bottom of the control arm . The welding was blended in very well and all of it was painted very nicely. !M!

    Ummmm. yeah?

Looks so cartoonish It would be fun to pull some wheelies in it 8) !M!
  15. I forgot about those... just went downstairs and took a few pictures. It had been left out in the rain, so it's kind of rusty . This was just an exercise in engineering, plus I had just bought my welder at the time and needed something to do. It's still a good design, but I would make quite a few changes. Please ignore the crappy welds, I was a novice. Click the links: ACA 1 ACA 2 ACA 3 ACA 4 ACA 5 ACA 4 is a suspension piece that came off a cirlce track car. It's left hand/right hand threaded, so it's on-car adjustable. Maybe down the road I'll redesign these and try 'em out on the track, right now I'm just to dang busy to putz around with it. !M!
  16. After looking at it, I think the slope of the Miata glass fits the lines of the S30 better in my opinion. So... who's going to build it 8) A removable hard top Z car would be so sweet! Or, a fixed roof, just like the picture would be neat. !M!

    Renesis Engine

Exactly. Detonation or poor tuning, kills rotaries. Otherwise they can live quite a long life. As far as the Renesis is concerned, it's pretty new, so I doubt anyone has had the opportunity to adapt one for use in a Z car. !M!
  18. Can't remember the members name that did the Miata headlight photoshop, but it looked really cool. The picture was in the gallery before we changed over to the new software and lost all the images. !M!
  19. Dan, Do you have a problem with the emergency brake hanging up on the poly bushing's bolt that goes through the top of the Ron Tyler style differential mount? !M!
  20. Intense 5 with the center powder coated a gun metal grey or black. Exactly the kind of wheel I would like for my '73 unflared with coilovers, but in a 9" wheel. Love that deep dish look 8) !M!
  21. In my best Tommy Chong voice, "Wow, far out man" Click Here !M!
