  1. WOW! Way to turn this guy's thread into a pissing match. To the original poster, you might get lucky and be able to fit the bellhousing from an R34 GTR onto the transmission of the supra. My guess would be that it probably won't work but anything is possible.
  2. I believe it's the valve ATI supplies with their Procharger kits.
  3. I think that no matter which brand parts you buy, you still need to have them checked. A competent machinist should be checking the big and small ends of each rod for out of roundness. I believe that some people have just gotten a bad run of a certain product and it goes unchecked thus failing. Then they post it all over the internet and everyone starts bashing it. Bottom line, have all your engine components checked out thoroughly and any problems will become apparent. Brandon
  4. Stony, I think I know why all this happened, It was obviously your cheap Chinese intercooler. Just kidding. Sorry to hear. If you need a replacement turbo I've got one that should do you right. Brandon
  5. Here is where it gets difficult. There are two different events being discussed here. The problem being described by Mark is basically the turbos producing more air than the engine can process at a certain RPM. The surging described by Pirate is when you let off the throttle and you get a fluttering noise. Two different events that appear under two different scenarios. I'm sure Tony D or somebody more knowledgeable than I could jump in here and give a more detailed explanation of what is going on when you get compressor surge.
  6. The short answer is, that's what those turbos do on that engine. It's the turbos surging or shuffling as some people call it. If you spend some time on forums.freshalloy.com in the Skyline section you'll see people complaining of the same problem. The only way to completely rid yourself of them problem to my knowledge is to change the turbos, or increase the displacement of the engine. i.e. RB30.
  7. 19 posts and no reply? Where are you Pete?
  8. Nice! Any plans on doing a higher octane tune? C16,Q16,VP Import?
  9. Do get some footage of the pulls. You going to put some race gas in it this time or just pump gas tuning?
  10. If I had to do it over again, I would probably choose the AEM EMS. I am very happy with the Power FC that I am using but it does lack in some areas. The most obvious being the fact that using the commander to tune it sucks! The FC-Datalogit is a must to tune these but costs an additional $350-$400. It also lacks the ability to have more than one map stored on it. The AEM unit uses windows based software, has the ability to use anti-lag, and can control individual cylinder fuel and timing values. For us RB guys this can prove to be very useful as cylinder 6 has a tendency to run leaner/hotter.
  11. Happy Berfday Pete! How's the galant running?
  12. No worries. I'd rather see vids of it running than pics of the head anyway.
  13. Any chance we can get a picture of the port work on the JUN head?
  14. Dont forget the Power FC from Apexi. You can get the D-Jetro version for around 1200 usd
  15. You're not the only one. I've thought of selling my RBZ about a hundred times this year and it is also almost done. Someone needs to start a support group for people who are frustrated with their project cars. The thing that I have found that helps me is to just let the car sit for a while. That might not work for you but something will happen that will get you motivated. Hang in there. Brandon
  16. Stock Isolators, Castlemaine Rod Shop mounts.
  17. As you already know you can take a wrx transmission and weld the center diff to make it rwd. The problem is the stock 5 speed transmissons can only take roughly 300 whp. Some people have made them live at higher power levels but it's only a quick shift away from exploding. If you want to use a subaru trans, find a 6 speed from an STi. They are expensive but MUCH stronger than the 5 speeds.
  18. I would use a Bosch 044 pump in the cell and in the surge tank.
  19. 30 spline. I believe I got my yoke from the driveshaft shop.
  20. Think you could put together a price for a kit that would include most of the hardware one would need for a complete rebuild?
  21. Polyvinyl chloride, (IUPAC Polychloroethene) commonly abbreviated PVC, is a widely used thermoplastic polymer. In terms of revenue generated, it is one of the most valuable products of the chemical industry. Around the world, over 50% of PVC manufactured is used in construction. As a building material, PVC is cheap, durable, and easy to assemble. In recent years, PVC has been replacing traditional building materials such as wood, concrete and clay in many areas. Despite the fact that PVC production negatively affects the natural environment and human health, it is still widely used. Apparently the PVC is no good.
  22. Anybody have a reason why you wouldn't want to wrap it?
