  1. I use a tri-mix of 90% helium, 7.5% argon, and 2.5% CO2 when MIG welding stainless. Roberts Oxygen recomended it for use with the MIG machine. I have used 100% argon before, but i figured they would know better than I.
  2. I always thought of using some tubs from a school bus. They are pretty big seeing as how they fit two tires in there. You'd just have to cut them out. I don't know how well that would work but it's a thought.
  3. I honestly don't remember if i got the ford or chevy type. I plan on welding mounting tabs on it like 240z Master did though. I got mine in the 24 inch width. They also have PRC radiators with built in heeat exchangers for those of you that want to run an automatic.
  4. http://www.randys-racemart.com/prcdopara.html This is the one i am using. Good price and it has the inlet and outlet on the same side which is perfect for the RB engine. It looks really good too.
  5. I saw a couple of badass V8z's at my local track, turned out to be Jody (JBC3), and David (qwik240z). Jody was wearing a HybridZ T-shirt so I decided to check it out. Haven't left since.
  6. Could you be talking about an arm coming off the rear end and mounting to maybe a bushing on the trans crossmember? The 80's camaros had a setup like that i believe.
  7. i got mine from some guys here in Maryland called Mid Atlantic Motorsports. Their website is www.jdmfresh.com.
  8. Nope, right-hand threaded. I just hit mine with an impact gun and it came right off.
  9. Hey Mike, if you get it translated could you post it up. I too am looking for and english version.
  10. Try using an air compressor and applying pressure to the wastegate line. If its an internal wastegate, look for the actuator arm to move. If it's an external gate, take it off the car and look to see the valve move.
  11. The name of the shop is Andrewtech Automotive. You can reach him at 240-683-1000. He does phenominal transmission work.
  12. If your hung on keeping a manual transmission you can always go this route. http://www.ppgearbox.com.au/html/products.htm#2 There is a guy here in Maryland who is a dealer for PPG gears. I've seen these sets in person and they are definetly no joke. Haven't seen a set fail yet in any of the WRX's he does.
  13. Here's the link to the thread. http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=101321 It is a combination of an oil pan and pickup thread. Very helpful for me. I have to thank J.Soileau for helping me find this thread.
  14. Just got this today. It's the D-jetro model and it solves the problem of me not getting any MAFs with my engine. The guys at work thought i should have it.
  15. Well i bought a 200zr pan for my Rb swap and had intentions on fabbing an extended pickup. Then i ran across an old thread detailing an external pickup mod that JaimeT and J.Soileau have done with their custom made oil pans. Rather than ditch the newly purchased 200zr pan i came up with this solution.
  16. Not bad at all for the first try. The first one i made was way off. How do you plan on welding the collector together? Trying to get the tig torch in there looks difficult.
  17. Could someone try photoshoping these onto a Z. They look badass!
  18. Looks good man! You definetly need all that meat.
  19. Here's one. http://www.300zxclub.com/showthread.php?t=88855
  20. I do a lot of work with stainless and i use a chemcial called compound 302 to clean up the welding area. Takes away the discoloration from the weld and surrounding area. Nasty stuff though i always wear rubber gloves.
  21. Gorgeous car man! Is that a D-1 or D-2 procharger?
  22. If you plan on using the factory ECU you're going to need to go back to the junkyard and get the pedal assembly from the 350z. It should have the sensor on it you will need for the Drive By Wire. Then you'll have to find a way to graft it onto the Z pedal assembly or use the entire 350z pedal in your 240. I thought about this swap myself and that is one thing i just didn't feel like dealing with.
