  1. It's not a personal thing, I just wanted a 10 sec. daily driver. You have to remember I've had mind on the road for over two years, and it was begaining to feel normal to accelerate from 0 to 60 in 3.7 seconds. Took it out for a test drive and it need tunning bad. Maybe this weekend. Mike thats what I'm looking for, but more semeterical in shape. About 11" wide and 14" long, with about a 3/4" inch rise, and a rounded back side.
  2. OOh more HP, just what we need. I've got the Magna Charger almost install. Should have about 420+ to the wheels in a few weeks. It fits under the hood ,but I only have about 1/8" clearnce. I would like to fine a bolt on or tape on hood scoop to go over the charger to give me a little more clearnce and some cooling air to reduce the heat. Any one know where to get scoops?
  3. On the LS1 you have to set both speed and RPM of the shift, and both requirments must be met befour a shift will happen. When I had mine LS1 edited it kelp hitting the limitor, came to find out I was 2 quarts low on fluid.
  4. Stock LS1. All aluimum, 6200 RPM stock, 300 RWHP stock, 25MPG stock. :DI am looking for an engine that I can pull 5500-6000RPM and maintain for extended distances as it is just plain FUN!
  5. On that o2 sensor. I had a problem like that on my LS1 crate motor. Turned out to be missed wired wiring harness. The left o2 sensor was controling the right side injectors, and the right side o2 sensor was controling the left side injectors. So the richer the one side would get the othe side was being leaned out. If I went WOT ever thing would get better , but after I killed the motor and restarted I have that problem again.
  6. Lets not forget the truck line of LS1's, iron blocks from 4.2l,5.3l to 6 litter bored and stroked out 427 cu in 's, SCed or Turboed to make who knows how much HP. IMHO give me the LS1 or give me death. I truly believe the LS1 and the 240Z were made for each other, just 25 years sepperared them!!
  7. Bill you need a 15 to 20 mm positive offset for those tires. My Pansports are 0 offset, and I had to roll the fenders to get them to not rub. I have about 3/8" + between the tires and the struts, but the fenders are close. I believe the snowflake wheels have the right offset if you can fine a set of those.
  8. They seem to know there stuff. I know of no other LS1 powered Z's. Just order the Magna Charger today, they said it takes about two weeks to get here. Also found out that this charger won't work on the F-body motor's pully system, so I'm changing mine to the C5 configeration. The C5 belt runs about an inch closer to the motor. It's going to be close as to the hood clearence maybe a 1/2".
  9. Opp's my bad that's a 225R4514 I was looking at it's only 22" tall and with my 3.36 gears I was hopeing for a little higher (closer to 6500 RPM's) trap RPM's. Goodrich says that these DR's don't depend on side wall flex for traction. I was also looking at the 235R6015's, but if I go that route, I might need the 3.7 or higher gears. Mike if your going for sure let me know. The only thing I don't like about fast fridays is that they tech your car and tell you If you go 11's your out.
  10. Well BF Goodrich has a new DR out with a 245R5014 that should take care of things. July 25 is Ultimate Street night, I don't think the import racing has a class for V8's. I still have to get this pass one more major hurdle, ( THE WIFE ) will see $5000.00 a little steep! Maybe for the next five years birthday and X-mas presents.
  11. Well Scottie inspires me, but low 10's might be a little to fast.
  12. http://www.magnacharger.com I'm amost 99% sure this will fit under my hood
  13. Same motors, both will work with F body LS1 trany. Computor must mach with year of wiring harness. The T56 has no connection to ECU as for as I know. An ECU from a A4 car is needed to run a A4, but either will work with the T56, but you might see trouble codes if a A4 ECU doesn't see the A4. All of this can be edited out.
  14. Cool three post in a row and I have not seen the dreaded Invallied session.
  15. I've heard a lot of LS1 M6 do that, but I can't say I remember mine ever backfiring.
  16. Some how I dont think thats going to help my ET's. How ever the car would be lighter, but would have the same or even a little more mass, (you know the stuff that has to be accelerated).
  17. Well not realy power steering, but it fells like it. Removed front bumper 34Lb's, AC system 55 lb's, relocated battery to the rear 38 lb's. That's 127lb's off the front end. The front end was about 1 inch higher, and the steering fills a LOT lighter! Any body know of any other pratical weight reductions? How about that little vapor recoverery tank on the right rear of the car? Is that tank and hoses really needed?
  18. You just got to love the LS1. Using a 1/4 mile hp calulator and my time sheet from last Friday my car is making 318 RWHP. I have been putting my car on a serious diet. Last Friday it weight in at 2875 lb's with me in the car. Since then I have found 185 lb's that I have, or can remove for race nights. Surely this will get me into the 11's. Also I moved the battery to the rear of the car for a little more traction. Maybe we can all go to Ennis for the next Ulitamate street night July 25. Nice numbers by the way, did they do any tunning while it was on the dyno? If not their ar still a few more ponies to be had.
  19. Three kids walked by the other day a one kid said to the other " look at that old GT40 sweet car". I just smiled. :
  20. I've had AOL for about 6 years now with little or no problems. My problem started when this form changed to this new format. If this goes through it will be two in a row now! heres hoping.
