  1. then you would have fuel starvation under heavy accel or steep hills, could you find a tank with the pickup and vent at the top of the cell? you could score a used cell with the metal box and the lines on top for next to nothing if you ask around.
  2. a real fuel cell, consists of a metal box around a plastic box with a bladder inside, it would need to have a ground strap, vent line and pickup line up top, plus you need the roll over valves/flaps. and a cage welded to the frame rails. this is of course if you wanted to be able to track day with a sanctioning body.
  3. I think we could rebuild the hoover dam with the amount of sidewall that tire has.
  4. PM me, I'm in thousand palms and ironically was looking to sell my setup..
  5. I used a trans-dapt filter relocation plate, NPT-AN adapter, -12 AN line to the cv products filter mount, from the mount to an oil cooler and from the oil cooler back to the engine.
  6. what about using an A/C system from a prius and using an aftermarket heater by itself?
  7. I'll sell mine as a complete roller for $1k only surface rust in a couple small spots on the front pillars and the battery tray has some surface rust. I'm in palm springs. http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=151974 http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v353/hoov100/v8%20240z/
  8. depends on where you have them mounted. if they are where they are supposed to be, they get in the way a little, but hardly noticeable when working on the carbs or anything.
  9. did you do any of the aero mods to the front?
  10. can't you get an RGB cable to hook up to your ipod, then just directly connect it to an amp?
  11. cheap running and driving pre smog s30's are all over the LA and OC craigslist right now.

also, the 4l60e needs a controller to be able to use it.
  13. king of the mountain, theirs a nice white and blue 240z racing down mullholland drive after being turned away by the guy in the porsche speedster.
  14. Alright, finally did a little more wiring, wired the brake lights to the switch and ran a hot to the brakelight switch, wired up the headlight switch, wired the ignition switch, got my battery cables sized up, so all i have to do is solder the connectors on. All thats left to do wiring wise is to, run a lead from the headlight relay's to the battery, run a lead from the alternator to the battery, buy senders for the gauges and run the wires to them, buy 4 push in light sockets for the tach and speedo, make a turn signal system, wire up a switch for the backup lights And wire in relays for the 2 speed fan!
  15. dude, you just made me hard, I LOOOOVVVVEEE 190e's and you just lined out everything i would ever want to do to one.
  16. lol, five layers of paint, didnt cut out the stock 1/4 panels when they put the subtle z rear flares on, riveted and glued the flares on, the covered it in bondo, molded a spoiler into the rear with rivetes and bondo, while leaving bare metal underneath for it to rust through, filled the rear vents with fiberglass resin and cheap lead, tried to use JB weld to fix a brake booster, tried to use house hold insulation to insulate the wires from heat, had the distributor 3 teeth off, hacked the wiring harness up all the way around, wired the stock tach to the motor, but didnt calibrate it, speedo wasnt hooked up, cut up a good 73 console to install some crappy auto shifter, put bolts where the grease fittings where on all the ujoints, destroyed the stock front valance by trying to mold in some yellow fog lights with all thread and fiberglass, used to short of a weatherstripping on the windshield which created a 1/2 gap at the bottom, had cheapo carpeting and insulation glued to the floor, exhaust was half ass'd and hacked up, too big of a carb, was using a point distributor and balast, wired in a Taurus fan to only be on high whenever the ignition switch is on, covered the surge tank and all those lines in a tar like substance.
  17. only reason I'm still alive.
  18. speeding, weaving, late braking, holding a line and practicing my heel-toe during normal driving, splitting the lanes, dragging knee in traffic on the freeway, doing 0-100 pulls on the on ramps, drafting a larger vehicle, drifting, bumping other cars bumpers...etc
  19. actually I ground to the body/cage on all my cars over the motor, if you have ever seen the diagram for jump starting your z, they tell you to put it on the shock tower bolt. I have also ran the positive cable through holes without grommets, unless its cutting through it i wouldnt worry about it.
  20. an ls1/ls2 is probably going to be the cheapest route in your part of the world, unless you can source an l28et locally. I have a v8 in my car and never looked back, never regretted it either!
  21. I say keep it and keep it how it is. selling it would be the biggest regret you would ever have, plus its already paid for!
  22. I run 40 degree's on cheapo 91 with almost no valve overlap, no thermostat, 9.50:1, no advance and it runs fine temp wise, stays at 210* with air temps being 115* on the freeway and sitting still. high oil temps will also cause a rise in coolant temp, but its most likely going to be aero problems causing the problem.
