  3. wow, 24 plug wires and 4 coils, that would not be a cheap/easy tune-up job.
  4. according the parts store and the local nissan dealer, the difference is in the bypass spring, the auto's have a stiffer spring then the manuals, so thats why i would assume that the turbo auto's would have a higher PSI then the manuals.
  5. FYI. a microturbo wouldnt work with todays RC car motors, nice work though.

  7. i know that the turbo oil pumps do have a higher pressure, but comparing the spring inside the pumps, it appear's that the spring from an automatic is noticeably stiffer from the manual trans, would i be loosing pressure and gaining volume by going with the manual trans spring, or should i stick with the automatic one??
  8. rust is the absolute last thing you even have to look for down here, if your car came from here anyway, there used to be a datsun dealership over here, now its a carpet store...
  9. those two grab handles fell off first, then the wheels came loose, then the four arms that hold up the little round plate then the little support bar on the bottom, then the pump started leaking, then the little universal joint broke.

  11. i have went through four of those damn things, they never lasted more then a week and they always kept falling apart, then i tried the aluminum 4 ton floor jack from sears and the only problem i have had with it was that one of the grab handles fell off. keep in mind that it gets used 7-8 times a week and about 14 times a day saturday at the track.

  16. pull the pan and wiggle/pull the rods, if its loose you have a spun bearing or loose con. rod bolts..
  17. if your motor is in good condition with a good service history and under 200k you should be fine to swap on the parts, but theres a small list of things to do "while you at it"
  18. or just build a stroker and have more power to begin with..
  19. i would test the throttle position sensor and see what the fuel pressure is before the fuel rail.

  22. usually the junkyard is the pace to go for a l28et around here, i found ONE 280zx turbo parts car in the past 5 years in riverside county..
  23. whereabouts in the IE are you located? im over in the palm desert-ish area.
  24. theres a mostly rust free (front floor boards, lower dog legs) 5/71 240z with those solid alum. wheels at the local junkyard..
