  4. when i first bought the car the power steering was draining its tank in 20 minutes, so i cut the belt and forgot about it, well now its tiem to get back to it, all of my PS lines are shot the pump is shot and the rack needs a rebuild, now at the local jyard their is a rebuilt manual rack that i kinda stashed inside another car for future purchase, now would a 240z rack fit in its place using z31 tie rods? or is there more involved? or should i just buy another z31 PS rack and convert the rack to manual?
  5. leaking seal on the turbo i suspect. is it a BOV or wastegate?

  7. basically shove the hose into the water neck and pour water through the block, if that doesnt work block off the lower radiator hose and let it build up pressure.
  8. right now im trying to unscrew those two caps that hold it all in place, but nothing i have seems to fit.
  9. the bang you heard might have been the head gasket giving way, pour some water down the water neck and try and find the whole.
  10. its the shift tower thats the problem, the trany is fine, when i put on a different shift tower it works flawlessly.
  11. i have a 3spd t90a tranny out of my jeep, the trans blew up and the jeep was parked, now after i put a new trans in it, it wont go into second or third, i pulled the shift tower to find that the shift fork for second and third wont go in or out, it still moves freely from side to side, but not forward or backward, any help will be greatly apreciated.
  12. so much pressure built up in the cylinder that it blew the head gasket, which forced a LARGE amount of air into the cooling system which in turn blew something the ♥♥♥♥ up? all cause by a clogged exhaust system more or less..
  13. my turbo has been sitting on the shelf for about three months i poured a little oil down the inlet and let it sit over night, then i come out to find that it poured out the exhaust housing, so i cleaned it all up drained the oil and re filled the inlet hole up with oil again and let it set overnight i come back to a nice and dry exhaust housing, could switching to synthetic have caused this? or should i go to a higher weight oil? im currently using 10w-30 mobil1 synthetic, but this turbo was fine before i pulled it off.

  16. the only 4cyl i would every consider putting into a small car would be the sr20 .
  17. i love how they completely miss how much engine configuration helps with achieving HP and TQ...
  18. once you have everything off and undo those two bolts does it simply just spin off or is it more complicated?
  19. simply put, my uncle is/was a HUGE z car fan, he was the original owner of a 77 280z, well we drove it down to mexico once, then he bought a fairlady 240z, well he parked it in his shed and i tinkered with it until 03, then he finally gave it to me, so i drove it around and blew the head gasket, which warped the head, so it sat in storage for another three years before i sold it to the owner of the storage place, now its getting a resto. and possibly an RB..
