  1. if anyone wants to take a look, there are a lot of pics from local Z events (most hybridZ), drag racing, AMA superbike, offroading trips, autocrosses, etc. http://www.datsunracing.com/gallery Feel free to post feedback
  2. here's another one I found, 9hp less, but same torque. this dyno was done at 98*F
  3. The reason hp and torque #s were upped is because Dodge is now shipping the '04 srt4 with stage 1 kit' date=' which is injectors and reprogrammed ECU Given that there are guys running 14.0 1/4 mile times in stock form, I'd venture a guess that that's about hte power needed to move a 2700lbs sedan that fast. What's difficult to believe? In 92 dodge made a limited production run of the Spirit R/T, a little boxy pos sedan that C&D clocked at 14.5 in hte 1/4. It had a 2.2 liter turbo that made 220hp and 217 tq. Oh, and there's always dyno charts [img']http://www.atpturbo.com/turbopiping/monstermate/images/neonsrt/StockNeoDyno.jpg[/img]
  4. nice! sounds like you'll have plenty of time to make a good run of control arms!
  5. K, some Z events are up (5) http://www.datsunracing.com/gallery
  6. actually, those srt-4s dyno 220 at the wheels. they're severely underrated, and with a competent driver can break out of 14s in stock form.
  7. http://www.datsunracing.com it will be updated today/tomorrow with a LOT of event pictures, as soon as I get php gallery going
  8. actually, I know the guy mookie. He's like me in sense that he got fed up with neons.org ricer mentality. as far as my neon, it's a 99 r/t with a 2 liter dohc motor. mods are solidified motor mounts (vibrates like magic fingers), intake, ecu, mopar header, underdrive pulley, hawk performance autox pads for brakes, 22mm adjustable rear sway bar. I ran 15.6@89mph with intake and ECU only.
  9. I think the trick is to weld up a reinforcement plate on the triangular area right below the top rail in the front. Right in front of the door and below the windshield on each side.
  10. http://www.neons.org/forums/viewtopic.php?t=121823 see how many people would take a neon over a z06 corvette.
  11. I'll chime in. -Harbor freight orange Chicago Electric heavy duty reciprocating saw (sawzall knockoff). While not the best, if used with Milwakee sawzall blades, it's quite good. Has 6 speeds to work with, blades aren't as easy to change as a milwakee - you have to use an allen wrench. Some of the complaints are the rubber sleeve will inch forward, and it gets somewhat annoying. 8/10 - $40 on sale -HF chicago electric 4.5" angle grinder. Paired up with a cut off wheel, makes very quick work of hacking up frame rails and such. Works like a charm, 9/10 - $17.95 on sale -Harbor Freight 12 ton press. poorly assembled/fit piece of junk. Most parts won't line up right when you assemble it, and I snapped a cheap grade 2 bolt when putting it together. While it did the job (albeit somewhat poorly) it took a while to easily line things up. It's a simple built, metal frame with a 12 ton bottle jack on a platform suspended on 2 heavy duty springs. 5/10 -$99
  12. Yes, it's real. My coworker took that picture from a laptop we got on friday. He said "screw this, I'm not touching this [fecal matter] and signed off the problem as shown.

  14. if memory serves, it's a 4.08 viscous limited slip r230 unit
  15. there are bigger than 245 tires - jumbo240ez is running kumho victoracers on 16x9.5 wheels - they're 265s in the rear
  16. Everyone, to EbayMotors! 1/4 of the nation cannot make bids, make the best of it! ok, sorry, but it was funny

  18. unlike you guys, I don't have a garage I can use at any time next to my apt.
  19. no, the mustache bar washers are flat, while the tension rod washers are curved
  20. nope, sorry dude. curved side out, like this: tension rod.========( ||| [F] ||| )n Where ( and ) are the curved stock large washers, ||| are bushings, and [F] is the frame. n is nut.
  21. http://www.diamondracingwheels.com/ You may want to check with Jumbo240EZ about those wheels and offset, he bought a set. If I recall correctly, he was running 16x8 wheels all around, with coilovers and smaller diameter springs than stock. The tire size was 245/45/16, and the rear was rubbing slightly.
  22. Haven't done it yet myself, but expect to pay about $350-400 for the LSD itself (i'm assuming you're referring to the 3.7:1 R200 LSD from the '87-89 300ZX turbo), about $50 per CV axle from the same car from a junkyard, and I think Ross C. sells the CV adapters for $200 for the pair. Since you have a 280, you already have the stronger stub axles, so that saves you a few bucks. But right now you're looking at an average cost of about 650-700. Of course, that number is variable based on the deal you find for the axles and the diff.
