  1. tony, sadly, neons aren't as bad as you think. very stiff chassis, used to dominate stock class at autox. my old neon is 10 years old, still running w/ 150k on the clock, reliably, in texas. it survived 2 thunderhill track days, autox, 3 dragstrip days at sacramento raceway. and i sold it with 113k miles on the stock clutch.
  2. you want an r200 anyway, better gearing, beefier internals. it'll be a worthwhile $100 investment in the long run. be sure your new diff has hte same flange, bolt size, and internal flange pinion diameter that JCI required earlier when you purchased the kit
  3. all of you guys responding with emails should read the thread. there's a downloadable link in it.
  4. what you don't see is hte metal plates that haven't been attached that are designed to prevent that. I haven't welded them on yet. but yeah, i hear ya
  5. actually i put the pump below the cell for gravity feed. putting it above would be sillier, no?
  6. who's there? -it's darwin, lol http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R_vTKCxyaYw
  7. I didn't say suspension failure. I said suspension design. miata/neon suspension > z suspension.
  8. Yeah, I hear you guys... my only concern is future expansion for power and the fact that I already have the fuel cell setup 90% complete, including the hard lines pre-bent for it tough call. heh. But I was thinking camaro tank as well. I'm sure someone makes adaptable fittings to go AN
  9. mark: just to clarify, when you say tank, do you mean camaro tank or existing fuel cell?
  10. yeah i might do surge tank down the line. car won't see a ton of track time. do stock f-bodies starve for fuel in turns?
  11. OK guys, here's a question which may have already been covered...but I'd like your opinions anyway My current setup: Summit 16 gallon fuel cell, gm center, anti slosh foam, walbro 255lph inline external pump that was set up for the rotary. -8an feed, -6an return. Fuel cell is offset to the pass side to allow single exhaust to pass on the driver side. My options: a. Keep stock LS1 fuel rails, returnless fuel system, take out fuel cell, install camaro fuel tank. pros: don't have to set up anything, it's already in place in stock form, allows me to move the tank to the center to allow for dual exhaust cons: future expandability? do i trust returnless systems? b. replace stock LS1 fuel rails with summit billet units, with AN fittings http://summitracing.com/parts/SUM-240050/ run 8an line to fuel cell, install FPR(aeromotive a1000), all of which I already have from teh rotary setup pros: opposite of option a. cons: more difficult to move fuel cell over to allow dual exhaust , would be easier to do single exhaust
  12. i think you should go with 2.5", should be more than enough. Your motor's not stroked, 3" would be losing too much backpressure so you'd lose a bit of low end. If I'm wrong, someone feel free to correct me.
  13. CHILDREN, MANDRAKE! INNOCENT CHILDREN! They're after our precious bodily fluids! As mentioned before, the Z for $500 won't run reliably for 2 days at 8 hours a day. The other reason is archaic suspension design. Who usually dominates lemons? neons and miatas. Why? Because they weigh as much as the Z, if not less, handle better, and have reliable stout drivetrains
  14. i have a lift. would have taken longer with the lift. well, too late now. also, there won't be a next time
  15. after today, I can safely say that I will never ever own a 4th gen f-body. What the f was GM thinking when they put it together? Took the entire day to pull the damn motor, so many clips and wires, so much wedged in stuff. Started at 10:30, wrapped up by 8pm. I should've bought a ready-pulled motor. I wound up having to cut Alternator wires because I couldn't get to it without taking the Alt off (which is near impossible while engine is in the car). Wound up simply cutting the clutch/brake lines because of time consumption.
  16. nod. no problem. I actually wound up ordering the JCI trans mount. I have complete mount set for JTR SBC, so I can sell it off as a complete set. I'm sure I can get $150 or so for the JTR kit I have now, which won't be useful to me after this swap. My original plan back in the day was an sbc350 with wc t5
  17. hehe, i see now. you changed the pic though, and now i see what you're pointing at. i thought you referred to the front diff crossmember in the pic.
  18. i think you can pull 10.7-10.9, provided you got good traction. when are you planning on staging/hitting your nitrous?
  19. street tires? how wide? Also, hope you have a helmet and a driveshaft loop, otherwise you'll get booted out real fast... also, cage is required for under 10.99
  20. Wow... So now he's admitting to destruction of personal property, not fulfilling contracts, and incriminating himself? This guy is brilliant, to say the least. Also, he's had your stuff for almost a year. 11 months. I've seen cars get painted 3x over faster than that. Sounds like a personal problem. Perhaps he should try communicating, or simply sending the product back with a full refund saying "sorry, I am unable to finish this. please accept my apology" This guy should not run any kind of business, as he has 0 customer service skill. Also, be sure to quote/screenshot his page before he edits/takes it out, so if he DOES send you your stuff cut or with a hole in it, you can prove he's threatened to do it and can't claim "shipping damages."
