  1. I take everything good i said about the mazda3. calipers made by ford. so... both of my rear pads are worn down to bare metal. Fronts are that 50%. THese are factory pads by Galfer. So I got new pads, went to take calipers off to replace the pads.... the pistons won't go back in more than 3/4". I had to pound on the calipers to get them off the rotors (car is 4 years old, 55k miles), even after opening hte bleed screw, reservoir cap off, and ebrake line disconnected. I've never driven with ebrake on either, for clarification What are the chances of BOTH calipers going bad? Tomorrow I'm going to try picking up a different caliper tool kit that's not a cheapie POS from kragen/oreilly and see if it makes a difference. Also, the driver rear hub is clicking when I spin it... I probably have a bad wheel bearing.
  2. Many of us opted for the polyurethane transmission mount, so there's a good compromise. I haven't driven my own car with this setup yet, but I've driven capt_furious's Z with this, and the rear just sticks. there's no more wandering or clunking at all. In this setup, you have the stock mount on bottom, and a good setup on top. Much better than the silly strap that came from the factory This is the piece, $22 from summit, by energy suspension: http://www.summitracing.com/parts/ENS-3-1108G/
  3. This was published in Times New Roman
  4. I've had good experience with hawk myself. Used HPS pads. Porterfields are also very good
  5. they are DOT race tires. notice the 100AA treadwear rating. You'll go through them in about 4000 miles. If you want daily driver tires in 225/50/15, get some yamaha avs es100 for $80/each, or bfgoodrich gforce sports Also, if you're looking to buy tires for their 'looks' ... well, nevermind
  6. the R/T mount goes in the place where the strap used to be that held the differential from hte top. There are 3 bolt holes on each side, so that's how it mounts up. the GM universal transmission mount goes between the diff and the r/t mount
  7. I looked in here wonder if it was a reference to a post-op transsexual operation. You know, another type of "hybrid"
  8. $1200? do they include a bottle of lube with that purchase?
  9. Only in Jersey, would one sue Denny's for having salty foods. of course, this is america, so NOT eating is definitely out of the question Denny's Sued Over High Sodium Content in Food Friday, July 24, 2009 Denny's restaurants are being sued by a New Jersey resident and a nonprofit consumer group claiming that many of the chain's meals contain more than a day's worth of sodium, the Los Angeles Times reported Friday. Nick DeBenedetto, a 48-year-old resident of Tinton Falls, N.J., and the Center for Science in the Public Interest filed the suit Thursday in New Jersey Superior Court in Middlesex County. The lawsuit claims the meals "are dangerously high in sodium." DeBenedetto takes medicine to control blood pressure and is seeking class-action status for the suit. South Carolina-based Denny's Corp. called the suit "frivolous and without merit," the L.A. Times reported on its Web site. "With hundreds of items on the menu, Denny's offers a wide variety of choices for consumers with different lifestyles, understanding that many have special dietary needs," said the company, which has about 1,500 restaurants nationwide. The suit contains data about some of the chain's high-salt meals. The Meat Lover's Scramble, for example, which contains cheese, eggs, bacon, diced ham and sausage, and comes with more meat on the side as well as hash browns and pancakes has 5,690 milligrams of sodium — the equivalent of nearly three days' advised maximum salt intake.
  10. that's the ron tyler rear diff mount. it's a bracket that goes over the top of your differential carrier's nose, attaches to it with a gm transmission mount. Eliminates torn mounts and differential movement. I only got the TC rods from TTT. coilovers are ground control with different springs. The control arms were made by Mikelly (thanks Mike!). Install can be done in a day, if y ou're handy with a welder. To install coilovers, the spring perches on strut housings must be ground down, and new rings welded on to support the sleeves
  11. So, here's the pic of the yoke for you, as well as the driveshaft diameter (2"?) for my other post. Hope this helps. I can't test it out in the transmission right now because the engine is sitting up against the wall, and I can't move it right now.
  12. AHA! That's close to me, I'm off Fremont/Mowry Next time hit me up, I want to see you run some of those!
  13. hey.... is that at the business center/loading docks off old oakland road?
  14. if you want me to get pics/info off the driveshaft yoke for you, i'll get that tonight when I get home. Shoot me a PM to remind me
  15. Does the driveshaft diameter seem kind of small to anyone? it's max 2" in diameter, even the Z stock is bigger than that... am I worried over nothing? I don't want it turning into a twizzler at 400 ft lbs of torque
  16. There;s one in Fremont, I live by it. I can pick you up some stuff for the meet, what all do you need?
  17. hey bud, I need to introduce you to the only store you'll ever need to visit.... harbor freight tools. You need to go in there and buy the following tools: -2 x 4.5"angle grinders ($15 each), 1 for grinding wheel, 1 for cut off wheel or wire brush -wire brush cups of various sizes for cleaning metal -dremel tool with accessories. buy wheels elsewhere besides harbor freight -3 lb deadblow sand filled mallet - if you want to spring for it, a bench grinder is an incredibly useful tool when cleaning up edges of fabbed parts. This should cover your fabrication needs
  18. 10" x2.5" eibach springs, coilovers, non-sectioned strut housings, tokico illumina 5 ways, 15x7 ronal rims with 225/50/15 yokohama avs tires
  19. or ford falcon in this case. but this is a great write up http://tffn.net/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=40&t=15986
  20. uh. because if paint got into the brake booster where the MC connects...it's probably not a great thing?
  21. maybe...also, you can google and figure it out, but don't unless it's last resort. i was racking my brain for 20 minutes on it.
  22. figure out what the orange car in the race is! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4WAapKx2TvM
  23. you know, your steering rack boots are painted... i hope you masked off the input on the brake booster, otherwise you're going to need to replace it. all the paint on the boots and the steering rack coupler will break off under use
