  2. I'm a junior in mechanical engineering at Portland State. I'm going to get my masters in project management once I'm finished with the BSME. Justin
  3. That is a JNJ's car. Its just that when I first glanced at it I thought the rear hatch was split. Anyway, yet another dumb idea by yours truly!
  4. Saw this on another forum and found it interesting: Found at : http://www.supraforums.com/forum/showthread.php?t=450788&page=2 Justin
  5. The test fit flange is supposed to be in the mail this week with the plenum base. From there I'm going to find a different machinist to do the production run. We'll see, maybe he'll bust them out for me once he has everything finished. The tool paths are all finished in mastercam for both parts. He should just have to run the material through his machines at this point. Justin
  6. The whole reason I even though of this is this picture. It looked to me to be a corvette and not a Z for some reason... Anyway, I'm not going to do this. Just thought it would be an interesting conversation piece. Regards, Justin
  7. I found JNJ has ran this size in the past. I'm curious if they used a 8" rim or not:
  8. Anyone ever thought of doing a split window rear on a Z? I think It might be pretty cool looking:
  9. I'm looking for a set of slicks for next season. I currently have a set of 15X7" wheels. Can I run a 28X9" slick on these wheels, or are they too narrow? I'm set on running a 28" slick as I haven't been able to find the 3.36:1 R&P that Z-gad is running. These 28's should be enough for low 9's I hope. Regards, Justin
  10. This is what a 240z should look like!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  11. I used to daily drive my 280z. Its been parked for 4 months since I moved downtown and ride the light rail to work and school. My girlfriend was actually making fun of me the other day. She was saying I'm the crasiest car guy she's ever met that is content with not driving I just know that the money I'm saving is going towards next revision of the car (2JZ, S380 turbo, TH400 trans) :)
  12. They look like Seadoo seats JK I bet those fit really nicely around you. Justin
  13. I have CosmosXpress here at work. I can see if they have a more elaborate package at my school. Regards, Justin
  14. So how do I choose a proper stall speed for the converter? I'm planning on using nitrous to flash the converter at the track. The general setup I'm going for: Stock 2JZGE 272 cams Custom Intake manifold like Virtual Works Divided t4 turbine manifold like full-race's GT4202 1.15 a/r 4" downpipe w/ 4" muffler out the passenger fender 24*12*3 intercooler Regards, Justin
  15. I'm beginning to think that Dave's kit uses the Ross Machine Racing adapter with his own torque converter adapter: http://www.rossmachineracing.com/supratransadapt.html Justin
  16. Well, I missed out on a local deal for a adapter plate for the toyota bell housing. Looks like I'm going to order DaveH's kit shortly. Justin
  17. I'm willing to doing the modeling of alternate suspension designs in solidworks if need be. Sounds like a fun project to me. Regards, Justin
  18. Is there a major difference in cost/availability between the hybrid converters and the standard converters?
  19. I'm looking to do a TH400 setup in my car real soon. I'm wondering if there is a preference/advantage to running a Toyota bellhousing on a TH400 vs the standard GM be bellhousing? I realize that you have to run a smaller hybrid converter when using the toyota bellhousing. Is this a disadvantage? Do the smaller torque converters have more trouble with heat? My main worry is the size of the GM bellhousing fitting the transmission tunnel with the 2JZ mounted back to the firewall. I have the option of going with a Boostwerks adapter: http://www.clubna-t.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1467 Or a Virtual Works toyota bellhousing adapter for the Th400. I already have a GM TH400 and a toyota auto, so its no real difference to me parts wise. Regards, Justin
  20. Careful with the ross machine racing velocity stacks as you will have to cut them down to make them work with a l28. The problem is the port spacing of the l28. This will give you trouble unless you angle the ports away from each other. This may be doable and necessary since you are thinking of ITB's as well. Regards, Justin
  21. Bump, has there been any more development of the 40 spine stub axels? I'm interested in these if and when they are produced. Justin
  22. Soon. I've been promised some progress very soon. Sorry for all those that are waiting. It will be worth it when these are finished up. Justin
  23. Thanks a lot John. That should give me the info I need to build this manifold before dropping the motor in. Regards, Justin
  24. The factory L28 is near the same weight of the 2JZ without the turbo's on it. It should handle just as well as L28 powered S30 especially if you mount the 2JZ against the firewall and as low as possible. Justin
