  1. For the 1JZ bellhousing what is the best price people have been able to get them for? I was looking into it, and the best I could find was $335: http://www.rrevstore.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=32_1087&products_id=18032 Does anyone know of a cheaper source?
  2. My goal is to making 850whp eventually with the setup. The engine will only live on e85, and I think thats very doable with a good tune. I've decided that I'm going R154. I'm just going to start off slow and see where I go with it. Justin
  3. Sounds good Mike. How do the 280 cams work out for you? Does anything need to be clearanced in the head to run them? I'd love to find a dyno comparison between the 272's and the 280's. Regards, Justin
  4. Looks great! I'm going to doing this same combo in my Z. Did you get the R154 from a 1JZ, or just buy a bellhousing and convert over a 7mgte R154? Also, where did the shifter come out of the tunnel? Regards, Justin
  5. Well the idea for this build is to taylor it around E85. My 2JZ will never see race gas. Only pump gas and E85. From what I've seen, you can run around 30-35 psi safely on E85. I feel that at that boost, I will be about at the limit of what the GT4202 can deliever. We'll see. I've also been looking into making this motor rev better then most supras do. I'm hoping I can gain some AREA under the curve by being able to rev to 9000rpm. Looks Like I will be doing MR2 spyder shimless lifters along with some 272 or 280's. Justin
  6. Here is my inspiration for building the 2JZ motor. I just love the way they sound when rev'd way out. Almost like a v12 ferrari.
  7. To do the manifold correctly for a true divided turbine housing like the gt42r has, you need to analyze the firing order of the engine. The firing order of the 2JZGTE & 2JZGE are 1,5,3,6,2,4. You then send alternating combustion events to each side of the divided collector. So for the front half of the divided collector you feed with cylinders 1,3,2. So for the back half of the divided collector you feed with cylinders 5,6,4. You need two wastegates, one for each side of the divided housing. This completely divorces the front 3 cylinders from the back 3 cylinders, turbine efficiency and response is increased. This is how you're seeing honda B18's making 30psi with the GT42R at 5500rpms. I'm not sure what the difference in spool up on a 6 cylinder is, but 4 cylinder guys are seeing 500-750rpm quicker response. Justin Justin
  8. You can get a GTE exhaust flange from Full-Race. http://www.full-race.com/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=514&osCsid=dac5b07826dedeb867503f19aa9d6222
  9. Where you looking for a intake or exhaust flange? I'm going to be drafting up a exhaust flange soon for my 2jzge. I dont think I will get into designing a intake flange for the 2jz right away. I will likely just design a bolt on plenum that mates up to the 2JZGE lower runners. The thing is that the 2JZGTE and 2JZGE are different castings. The 2JZGE intake and exhaust flanges are different. Regards, Justin
  10. Well, I wouldn't pay the big bucks for Full-Race gear when I can emulate the concepts and build it myself. Attached is a picture of my SolidWorks rendering. Regards, Justin
  11. It looks like the 8.5" wheel has a deeper center section but shallower lip. Why not just do a quick measurement with a straight edge and ruler. Justin
  12. What is needed: R154 from MK3 Supra Turbo 1JZ Bellhousing 1JZ Flywheel 7MGTE Clutch 7MGTE Pressure plate 7MGTE throwout bearing Am I missing anything? Regards, Justin
  13. I'm going to custom fab a manifold to fit, so I'm not super worried about everything going together properly. I've read that if you have the room, the GT42 is definetly worth it as far as power is concerned. I may try a journal bearing gt4202 as they are $800 cheaper. Justin
  14. Bump, I'm curious if these clear Arizona Z car 12.2" brakes all around? Justin
  15. Thanks Bean!! I ended up pickup up a 2JZGE from an SC300. I'm going to keep it internally stock, and run E85 with a big turbo. Likely a GT4202R. Justin
  16. Attached is a compressed solidworks file of the above tank. Regards, Justin
  17. If you post up dimensions, I'll draw it up in solidworks real quick for you. Then you can have any sheetmetal shop build it for you. Regards, Justin
  18. I agree that ideally you would have more of a radius then this, but this is a affordable option for those that are on a budget. Justin
  19. We do have the possibility of having plenum extrusion machined like the attached pictures. This would make for a very affordable plenum with integrated velocity stacks.
  20. I'll measure my 2JZGE this weekend for you. Regards, Justin
  21. Looks like it belongs on a jeep to me
  22. Not sure, I ordered it off of ebay for $395 shipped to my house in oregon. I'm going to pull mine apart and replace the washers after seeing all of this. There is no doubt that the quaife is much nicer overall, but I've seen the OBX work fine in drag racing applications. I'm going to install it when I do install the 2JZ engine. Justin
