  1. Tony, you make it sounds like you have a to be an F1 engineering to make the chassis safer. I think with some careful thought and logic, anyone could add some rocker bars for safety.
  2. I have to talk to Ron about machine the flanges he designed. We'll get something worked out. The one thing about Ron's head flange is its designed for oversized port diameters. So essentially you need to atleast port match the cylinder head to the ID of the flange port bores. You can read more about Ron's design in the members project section. Do you people want a flange with standard port sizes or the Ron Tyler enlarged port sizes? I feel the later is where you will see the most gains from this custom intake manifold. Regards, Justin
  3. I'm working on drawing up Ron Tylers Intake Flange/Manifold in Solidworks. I promise to post pictures of the solidworks rendering this weekend. I'm going to get a quote on having them machined next week. Regards, Justin
  4. I'm willing to draw up a aluminum mustache bar if someone could provide dimensions. Justin
  5. After looking at the rear hub/brake setup, I notice that you have a drum parking brake. Mind sharing the story on that detail? Very nice attention to detail in all of your parts Also, your Jig for the control arm is beautiful!
  6. Dpcars is a great site. I've been following it from its inception. He's local to me and I plan to go out and watch him run the next time he goes to the track. Very impressive metal work on the mclaren wantabe. I really like it. Justin
  7. WOW, I really love what you've done. Are you modeling everything in solidworks? I really like the idea on the z31 5 lug rear hub setup. If you dont have time to sell or machine any of these parts, do you mind sharing them with DIYers like myself? Best Regards, Justin Olson
  8. Wow, thats a ton of boost on pump gas. Killer numbers!!! What RPM does 100mph relate to?
  9. I would need the bolt spacing of the r230 diff along with the placement of it in relationship to the mustache bar mounting points. I could do a model of it pretty quickly. Are they generally 0.5" thick? Regards, Justin
  10. I can draw some up and have them machined for the R230 if no other vender can come up with these.
  11. You can watch what Rota has available at this link. I too hope that the 17" rotas come available as I'd like a nice road wheel. http://www.rotawheel.com/AVAILABILITY.htm
  12. I heard the 17X8.5" wont be coming out from a Rota dealer. I'm hoping he's mistaken. Justin
  13. That looks great. What Cobra front kit did you use? Justin
  14. I'm 22 as well and Progressive was pretty good for me. I'd check them out.
  15. Well, I have about $2000 in the bank right now and I'm shopping for a nice TIG welder that will fill my needs over the next 5-10 years. I am willing to wait a bit longer and save a bit more money to get a nicer welder. My ultimate budget lies in the $2000-3000 range. I'm trying to decided which machine I want. I would like a machine that can handle about 200amps. Has to be capable of both steel and aluminum. The choices as I have thus far: Miller Dynasty 200dx with contractor kit. (high end of my price range). http://store.cyberweld.com/mildyn200dxa.html $3220 shipped Thermal Dynamics Arc Master 185tsw http://toolsforless.com/product/9805.html $1988 shipped Miller Syncrowave 200 http://store.cyberweld.com/milsyn180sd2.html $1815 shipped Also, I'm looking into the HTP 201: http://www.htpweld.com/products/tig_welders/tig201.html ~$2300+shipping I figure the miller machines will hold there value the best. The Thermal Dynamics inverter machine seems like a very good value. It just hurts that they've raised the price on them $300+ dollars since I was looking at them last summer. What would you recommend for me? Best Regards, Justin Olson
  16. Anyone else every thought of building a daily drivern 240z with mileage in mind? I figure if you put a small 4 cylinder in the Z car it should be able to knock down 40+mpg due to its light weight. Another Cool swap would be a vw TDI swap with a toyota RWD transmission. I've seen these done in 4 runners. That would easily get 40-50mpg. Just thinking of entertaining projects. Justin
  17. What is the best mileage you have gotten with your LSX swap? I'm considering this swap, but as of late gas mileage as become a bit of a concern. Is anyone knocking down over 30mph on the freeway with there lsx swap? Regards, Justin
  18. Very cool. Did you do subtle Z rear flares? Regards, Justin
  19. You really should look into E85. A local supra guy is making killer power on it with a stock longblock and a gt4276r. He pushed it to 30psi on E85 with methanol injection. http://www.supraforums.com/forum/showthread.php?t=427200 Heres a dyno chart at 24psi on straight E85: http://www.rrevmotorsports.com/public/e85.bmp Heres a dyno chart at 30psi on E85 + methanol injection(He says he could have run this boost on straight 85, but he added methanol as a safety margin since this is a completely stock longblock): http://www.rrevmotorsports.com/public/e85meth.bmp Regards, Justin
  20. Well, I was primarily looking to have the rubber hoses replaced. I dont have any running problems with my car. It just leaks fuel from the rubber hoses. Are the 5/16 like the rest of the fuel line? Justin
  21. What size hose is used? I didn't realize I could install new hoses on the injectors. Regards, Justin
  22. Are there any companies I could send a set of L28 injectors off of my 77 280z and have them rebuilt? The rubber hoses on top of the injectors have started to drip gas, and I dont want to start a fire running the car. I was hoping one of the injector rebuilders would be able to replace the rubber hoses on top of the injectors. Regards, Justin
  23. Eagles are good rods. I've seen them make 850whp in honda 4 cylinds. 700AWHP in audi 5 cylinders. The key to making them work is good final machining when you are building the motor.
