  1. I'm thinking about doing a AIM MXL Strada digital dash instead of buying a bunch of individual gauges. The price of gauges really can add up. http://www.aimsports.com/products/mxl-strada/index.html Justin
  2. Wow, I just priced the KONI 8611's and they've gone upto $309 per corner. I'll be looking at other options... Bilsteins (F4-P30-0032-MO) per corner: $101.25/Strut $75.00/Revalved to 300/100 $25.00/Gland Nuts I may try them with factory valving at lower spring rates of 200/225. I have to think about it. If I wasn't happy, I could send them to Bilstein for revalving at $300 for the set. Justin
  3. I'm trying to decide which I want to do this summer: Suspension or a Big Engine... 4. Its been a couple days since I took the interior down to bare metal. Today had a chance to paint it with some Krylon® Industrial Coatings™ Rust Tough® Enamel. It sprayed on really easy and the semigloss finish turned out nice. Before: After: Justin
  5. Here is a good link regarding the koni 8611 insert: http://www.msprotege.com/forum/showthread.php?t=123651640 Regards, Justin
  6. Good that your geting back into the Z. Sometimes all you need is a good breather to get over being frustrated. What wheels are those you have now? Justin
  7. Damn, I'd buy the whole car if my girlfriend woudn't shoot me for having another project car. Justin
  8. Flat Plane Crankshafts have vibration troubles when the displacement gets fairly large.(above 4L-4.5L). Balancing shafts would be necassary to make it work properly from what I've read. There is a good thread here about them: http://speedtalk.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=5558&highlight=180+crank+vibration Regards, Justin
  9. We are doing good. We have 6 orders with deposits down for the intake flange and plenum base. I've put this project ahead off all of my others with this machinist to try and expedite the process. Regards, Justin Pre Order List: 1. 11. I'm also looking to do a 240sx dash swap. The more info the better. Here are some pictures in this link to the swap: http://www.vildinimotorsport.com/gallery/joelsr240z.html Aziza has a 240sx dash: http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=118882&page=3 Regards, Justin
  12. Thanks Ken! We are getting there we interested people. I need to call the machinist tomorrow for an update. Justin
  13. The plenum bases with machined in velocity stacks are $75. So a deposit on these would be $37.50 through check or Paypal on these would be $38.81. The machinist is going to work on the tool paths for the mastercam files. He is trying to finish those up this week. Hopefully we can have a prototype by the end of the month for both the plenum base and cylinder head flange. Regards, Justin
  14. Here are the S2000 seats sitting in my Z. They are not a bolt in and required the sheet metal to be modified to get them to sit in the car. The trans tunnel is too wide on the drivers side of my 280z for these to fit. I had to beat that down. I'm going to be doing some welding for nice brackets this week hopefully.
  15. Will do Paul! I'm going to have to come up and visit the shop soon. Next month is the campover at your place right? Justin
  16. JGS is a smaller company. They make very high quality parts from what I've seen and read. There wastegates use O rings instead of diaphragms, which makes them work very well with CO2 setups. http://www.theturboforums.com/smf/index.php?topic=76364.0 http://www.theturboforums.com/smf/index.php?topic=80536.0 http://www.jgstools.com/turbo/wgpg.html
  17. Wow, Thanks Buddy! My B-Day present to myself was 6 months of insurance on the Z! Justin
  18. Are the stub axel breaking because of the shock loads associated with the manual transmission? Just curious if a auto car would be breaking these stubs at the same power level. Regards, Justin
  19. Well Today I feel like I got a lot done. I got the whole interior stripped down to bare metal. I'm going to pull all the interior back out tomorrow and spray it with a black enamel paint so that I dont get any surface rust. I also sanded down my hood with a DA sander and will spray that tomorrow. Grinding off all of the remaining insulation and paint was a tedious task. It took me a solid 6 hours today with air tools. I need to get the car down to my cousins shop to do the welding on the floor boards. I want to get the interior all rapped up so that I can start wiring the EZ wiring harness in along with Megasquirt. It feels really good to be driving my humble little Z car. Its not really fast, but its a lot of fun to drive. I'm hoping with some suspension upgrades (Koni 8611's and Hyperco's) It will handle very very well. I'm holding off on doing any paint until I get all of the mechanical changes done. I dont want to scrap up a new paint job dropping in a new engine and working on the suspension. Justin
  20. The plenum base has integrated velocity stacks so theres no need to use those expensive pieces from Ross Machining. I've used Ross Machining velocity stacks in the past, and they work well, but require more cylinder spacing then the L28 affords. Thanks for the Payment KJones. I will talk to the machinist hopefully tomorrow and get a final price on the plenum base. I've had a hard time catching him lately. I will post a shopping list for those building these manifolds. Regards, Justin
