  1. I've been searching all over the place and I can't find any R230 diffs out of the Z32tt. Does anyone have an extra unit, or have a source where I can find one? Regards, Justin
  2. I use 0.125" thickness sheet 6061 to keep the manifold from ballooning under boost. I've had trouble with thinner material distorting under boost. You can order it from Online metals: http://www.onlinemetals.com/merchant.cfm?pid=1246&step=4&showunits=inches Regards, Justin
  3. I think it says 102 cubic centimeters!
  4. Its not one of Javad's, although after javad saw my header, he has decided to start carrying this header. Lovefab.com made the header. Cody does excellent work. Kenny, what wheels and front air damn do you have on your Z? Your Blizzcats old roomate right? Regards, Justin
  5. Just a L28 motor right now. I'm going to be putting a LSx v8 into it probably, That or a 2jzgte. I have to finish up my other project car before I can take this one out of the daily driver role. Heres the car before the fender bender: Heres my audi 5 cylinder project: And the intake manifold project thats holding it up:
  6. Wow, that is some of the best one of engineering work I've seen in any project on the net. Very very good work!!!
  7. These bumperless Z's aren't too forgiving. Heres my car after bumping into a SUV at 5mph. I'm going to buy a carbon hood to replace this as I dont think I wouldn't be able to color match the current color. -Justin
  8. Any progess on the Z32 IRS and diff swap? I'm looking at doing this in my Z this summer. I'm doing a set of YZ rear quater panels so these seems like the most cost effective route to get what I want: -Updated IRS -R230 Differentail -CV conversion -5 lug rear -rear disc Anyway, I was just wondering the track width of the Z32tt? Regards, Justin
  9. When I read the first post I was in horror thinking you sold your 2JZ car. Thanks goodness you've kept your priorities Flying in the air and on land! Regards, Justin
  10. Would this be a good way to redo the interior. I'm thinking of stripping out all of the old sound deadening out of the car and going down to bare metal. Then zinc coat the metal and apply this bed liner? I think it would look really clean in my car once I put the cage in it. Justin
  11. Whats a good way to go about removing the trim without screwing the paint up? What options are out there for alternate antenna placements? I want to shave the factory unit along with the corner markers. Regards, Justin
  12. Check these stacks out: There really nice for a NA engine. I've used them before. http://www.tperformance.com/street_rod_store/5200/40mm_idf_weber_stacks/ Regards, Justin
  13. If your interested in seeing some amazing CAD work, check out this site. A local engineer here in Porltand, OR is designing a 1 passenger AWD hayabusa powered road racer. The whole design has been done in solidworks: http://www.dpcars.net/dp1bld/index.htm
  14. Where would I get good touchup paint for my Z? Its a 77 and I think its sunburst yellow, but it has been repainted, so I'm not sure if the current color matches so well with the original. Regards, Justin
  15. Here is a picture of my 280z at this point. I'm going to be doing some exterior work to the car in the next month. Here is my list of things that I will be doing in the near future: Headlight covers: Should I get smoked covers or clear? What looks better on a yellow car? How badly do smoked covers obstruct light from passing through? Remove rear bumper and metal shelf: Should I replace it with a 240z style bumper, or go with the smooth rear? Should I add a bumper to the front or does it look ok now? Remove side molding and trim antenna and corner markers: What is your opinion on this. How much better do these cars look without the trim? Lower the car: I'm thinking of going with Koni struts with some nice sport springs. 200lb front 225lb rear Anything other suggestions are welcome.
  16. As am I! Maybe we could get a group buy going to get the R230 mustache bar rolling ?
  17. Very Nice! This looks like a very effective way to do a budget single or twin setup on the LS motors. Please take pictures when you test fit the headers. Regards, Justin
  18. I'm looking at doing a twin turbo setup much like this picture for my Z. I'm wondering if these truck manifolds would clear the frame rails? Regards, Justin
  19. Here is what I'm looking to copy for the plenum design: GET ER DONE: Larger Pic here: http://forum.vwsport.com/pics/...=2208
  20. Basically it does just fit together lick a lego set. The runners fit into the head flange, and the velocity stacks fit onto the runners. Then the plenum base fits on top of the velocity stacks. After that a plenum is formed from 0.125" aluminum sheet metal. I'm personally not machining these flanges, but am CAD capable and can design whatever needs to be designed. I just need a cylinder head in front of me to work off of and get precise measurements with calipers. The runners and velocity stacks I'm using are from http://www.rossmachineracing.com I'd love to come check out Rusch Motorsports. I'm going to be gone at Sasquatch music festival this next weekend, but sometime in June would be very cool. Regards, Justin
  21. I could do a SR20 if you sent me the cylinder head for a couple weeks while I designed the flange. Regards, Justin
  22. I've developed a custom intake flange for my audi that is coming along nicely for my custom inlet manifold. Is there any interest for something similar for the L28? The price would be around $300 with fuel rail, fuel rail mounting brackets and CNC head flange. Newest update: Setup for Ross oval stacks and oval runner tubing: http://www.rossmachineracing.com/ovaltube.html PROGRESS Larger pic here: http://forum.vwsport.com/pics/data/500/DSC03655.JPG Larger pic here: http://forum.vwsport.com/pics/data/500/DSC03656.JPG Next up is finishing the injector ports and fuel rail mounts Here are pictures with the water manifold mounted: Regards, Justin
  23. How does the car handle with a solid rear axel? I'm looking at a dual purpose car that I can take to and road race from time to time. Would a solid axel kill handling?
