  1. I thought the WORST were the 83/84/85`s? I also thought it was more internal than the input shaft alone?
  2. The side skirts and rear skirt are the early msa parts, The front is also an msa airdam. I think the rear spoiler is a bre, but it is molded on and not just bolted. I can`t recall the name or the make of the mirrors, but I have a pair that I removed rom a 73 240 parts car. I also had one on the 77 that I recently finished. I don`t believe the bumpers are anything special.JMO
  3. I built, designed, and welded my rotissurie by myself. It`s on wheels and is plenty strong. I put my 71 chevelle on it and hauled it to Alabama on my trailer. I figure, if it can handle a 600mi drive with a car on it, I can trust it for whatever uses I will have.
  4. Cities have Police, and Counties have Sheriff`s. For some reason the city police do not do titles in Ohio. Ya hafta call the Sheriff. I suppose because it is filed through the county branch of the BMV.
  5. In Ohio, you call the sheriff, He comes out and gets the VIN# from the vehicle. He then does a title search and tries to find the last known address of the owner. Then he sends written notice. If no response within 30 days, they will give you the necessary paperwork to get a clear title in your name.
  6. Send a group of Z THUGZ to string him up by his scrotum.
  7. That`s possible. when i emailed my shipping address, I wrote that I would be paying with a postal money order. Maybe he didn`t want to risk postal fraud charges.
  8. Thanks, I think he said he had to get rid of the car, so there probably won`t be one out front. He might be related to the one in Castle rock,(maybe his Dad) My biggest concern is letting it go and finding negative feedback in a few weeks. I`m starting to think he may not want to sell because he didn`t get what he thought he would. He didn`t put a reserve on the stuff so it SHOULD be his loss, but you know how that goes
  9. It really pays to get GOOD line wrenches. I have a set of auto zone line wrenches that would strip th fittings more often than not. I finally sprung for a set of craftsman wrenches, now I only strip about 20% of them. Obviously you will NEVER be able to get ALL of them w/out stripping a few, so I`m satisfied.
  10. DIET? Just kidding, I`m almost the same size as you. (I`m on a diet)
  11. I was the winning bidder on ebay for a carpet set and a drivers side headlight bucket for a 77Z.(two separate auctions) *sellers name and address* Daniel Mosiman 727 Pearl St APT#304 Denver, CO 80203 , USA, I`ve tried repeatedly to contact by email with no luck. He did reply once to ask for shipping info,(almost 2 wks ago) but I`ve had no response since then. Is there anyone here from the local Denver area that wouldn`t mind checking this guy out for me? Maybe even find a home phone# on him? The total is only 65.00, and I haven`t sent anything yet, but it`s a good enough deal that I don`t want it to get away. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=6766&item=1876520 496&rd=1 http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=33697&item=24002 08887&rd=1 Thanks Guys,
  12. Good reading on the XE cams. http://www.streetrodstuff.com/Roundtable/Archives/Year_2001/November/35.php
  13. That`s cool, At least I`m not the only one who`s had to deal with this.
  14. I`ve noticed that the edge of the bumper, where it meets the body is a little rough, and has a pretty uneven gap. Those of you who have installed these on your cars, How did you fill or blend the gap between the body and the bumper?
  15. The page I got the info from stated that it was a ROLLER cam. I`m going to call them on monday and see what`s up, and where I can get the cam they list. I really would PREFER a roller cam. I already have the lifters so the expense wouldn`t be outragious. The difference between the engines is the 383 w/ 10.5 comp, has 1.25 hp per ci, and the 355 w/ 9.8 comp has 1.2 hp per ci. That doesn`t sound too far fetched to me.
  16. My bottom end is completely finished, with Steel four bolt caps, eagle rods, main studs, head studs, and steel crank. I`ve already got these heads, so all I really NEED is the cam and springs to match. I`m hoping to get low to mid 10`s on the bottle.
  17. Flow numbers unported at .500 lift, Intake 240, Exhaust 164. I`m using 1 3/4" fenderwell headers with 3 1/2" collectors. I will also be running 3 1/2" sidepipes. I did find this on another web site. Typical Application Street: 274 Cam: 230/236° .487"/.490", Dart II Sportsman #061010 dual plane intake; 750 cfm carb, 1-3/4" header. 430HP on 9.8:1 355; 480HP on 383 10.5:1 (varies with displacement and compression ratio). I`m not sure who makes the cam specified though.(SH 274) Does anyone recognize the SH prefix, or who the manufacturer might be? I would like to know the rpm range of this particular cam, and what the tourque curve would be.
  18. I`m trying to decide what cam I should use for the Z. Is there some *MAGIC* formula somwhere that could help me accomplish this? I prefer a solid roller design. The engine is a 383 sbc completely balanced with 10.5:1 comp, The intake is a Edelbrock Victor junior, with a 750 holly DP. It currently has (mildly ported/matched)Dart sportsmanII heads w/ 2.02/1.65 valves, and 200cc intake runners, but I may change to aluminum pro1`s. The car will be approximately 2700# with driver, and I plan to run a 200R4 trans with a 2500 or 3000(not sure) stall converter w/ lockup, and an R230 diff w/3:55 gears. The car will be dual purpose, with emphasis on 1/4mi performance. I may also put a 125hp nitrous kit on for a little extra punch. I`m hoping for about 450hp on the motor and about 550 w/ the bottle.
  19. Like a Dumb a$$, I sold a good running 400 sbc a little over a year ago for 375.00 . I wish I still had it NOW. I would definitely build a 406.
  20. I haven`t heard of anyone doing the swap. I seem to remember someone saying they weren`t as reliable or durable as the standard 8.8. Try a search and see what comes up.
  21. I used to have a 69 firebird too, but I sold it BEFORE I moved to the traler park. FYI, I DON`T live in the trailer park now. I moved about 10 years ago.
  22. One of the guys that my wife works with at Honda, is leaving for Japan on Saturday. I`ve asked him to pick up one of each for me. He will be back in 3wks, so as long as he can find them I should have some new toys coming.
