  1. http://www.freewebs.com/crookedduck/280zfuelinjectionbook.pdf It's a larger file so it takes a bit to download. But it's the 280z Fuel Injection Book. aka EFI Bible.
  2. I second the "where in Texas are you?" I have a friend looking for a 300zx.
  3. I thought that you were thinking of selling the Scion? It look sgood though. My wife has been talking about getting one. What do you really think of it?
  4. It's funny that you say that. There is a guy on my street that does it with his Nova to me. Especially if he sees me working on the ZX in the garage. Every now and then if I am not outside he'll light his tires up just to get my attention. I can't really say too much though... I do it to him too.
  5. hahaha, you're funny. But I know how you feel. Except in my case it's my own fault. I have a full working woodshop in my garage. When it comes time to fiddle on the z I have to start piling table saws, wood lathes, and scroll saws onto work benches. And then try to find a place for the 7000 Christmas lights, 10 foot tall guillotine, and 2 sets of stocks? Yeah ok. Just start stacking. Or use those black plastic bags as stated ZOwner.
  6. right on premo-s12, that video was the poo.
  7. I would leave it be. I've had vehicles sit for 6 months before and had no problems. I would fill the tank as soon as possible though with some fresh gas when you get it on the streets.
  8. If you are running carbs there is no need for a fuel dampner. The fuel dampner is used on fuel injection motors to dampen the fuel pressure pulses created by the higher psi electric fuel pumps.
  9. lol... my wife would say so too
  10. Duh, I feel stupid now:oops:
  11. If you have a way to pull the car into your garage, driveway, whatever, do it. It'll make for the resurection a much smoother process. JSM gave some good advice. I'd follow it. But would also change the oil, remove the valve cover, and pour the new oil across the rockers and cam. Check the cam and rockers in the process.
  12. I loved it. The wife loved it. And the 11 year old son loved it too. We went and watched it this weekend, and will probably go again and see it when it shows at the drive in. When it is released on dvd, yeah we'll buy it. As for the clutch burning... it's Disney. Who cares? You have got to let yourself fall into the fantasy it. I mean really, which is more believable? 1- Lightening clutch doesn't fry while pulling that asphalt spreader? or 2- VW bugs grow wings and fly? Either way it doesn't matter. What does matter to me is that after watching this cartoon, I have this almost uncontrollable urge to finish my 83zx and tour the length of route 66.
  13. Doh! I wasn't thinking and I know better. The ZX dizzy is points less. That's why there's no resistor.
  14. I am not using the ballast resistor on my 83 280zx.
  15. Do you have aftermarket fenders? The fenders and buckets on my 83 280zx are seperate pieces just bolted together. Here's a pic I took during the bodywork process. If they are aftermarket fenders, where did you find them? I would prefer them over this stock setup.
  16. Hell yeah!!! Those Z girls got it going on.
  17. It looks really good. Do you have anything planned for letting the air escape out from the engine compartment?
  18. Just a thought here... How about using the frame structure from the existing dash for the mounting points. But instead of using styrofoam or floral foam to use as a form to be removed later, could it be done (while still in the car) by covering the ducts, wires, etc. with saranwrap, and apply a layer of a (for support) fine wire mesh (such as window screen). Now you could spray a foam such as that aerosol home window sealing insulation onto the wire mesh and get to carving and shaping with some files, rasps, and sand paper. Then the plug that you have just created could be covered with some fiberglass or carbon fiber. Now instead of a thin dash cover, you would have a solid and removeable dash while maintaining heater ducts and electrics in thier original positions.
  19. No, I am no longer in the Army. I was stationed at Ft. Lewis for a year back in 2000. But they moved me here to Ft. Hood Texas a few years ago. Now since I am out of the Army, the wife and I have decided to move back. We loved it while we were there, and as coincidence would have it both of our families have since also relocated to the area. Thanks for the offer to help too. The wifes not too much help with the U-haul. j/k
  20. Yup, It will be somewhere in the Fort Lewis, Olympia, Lacey, Puyallup area.
  21. I would like to. But I won't be in Washington for anoher one or two months. sigh... There's always next year though.
  22. Stay away from the $29.95 Wal-mart guns. It was cheap and I was new to painting so I tried one. I will never use a cheap gun again.
  23. Thanks from me too. That came at a very convenient time for me as I am getting ready to start the interior of the car next. And speaker enclosures are definitely in the plan.
  24. I wanted one badly. It was one of the few times that the wife has said "NO!" Without the possibility of a budge.
