  1. hit a deer with my black beauty and the hood i thought i had was junk anyone got one close to michigan? or willing to ship to michigan?
  2. didnt the nissan pickups have nissan z on the engine? my sister had one and i remember it saying that on the engine. Nice find anyway if i didn't already have an aluminum rad from the l28 i would be looking for one of these too.
  3. ok what i did was take the three screws that hold the whole cas base into the housing out and i tried drilling them first but after the drill bit got a good bite all it did was spin so i pulled it out with the bushing still stuck to the bit making the bushing come out. I did it to all three holes so i could slide the whole unit back and forth. The thing about these is either its gonna work or not there isnt' going to be an inbetween. I took apart the z32 eye.... well as much as i could the two screws holding the eye in place do come out but there are hard wire leads holding the eye inplace but i could get it enough apart to see there are two sets of openings. i will try and get a pic so everyone can see later on tonite. My guess is that the eye is all one piece but with a metal cover with two sets of slots cut into it so it can focus the beam more. Since there is only one signal wire coming from the cas that the ecu uses im guessing it combines the two trigger window into something the computer can recognize. Also on this z32 cas i have one of the bushings knocked out from my early attempts to modify it so u can see how i did it. Did you happen to spin the z31 wheel around on the aem z32 wheel? if so did the home window line up with any of the trigger windows? From laying them on top of each other it looks like it only has to move a little bit and that much is definalty possible if your cas base plate can be modded like a rb or z32. Hope this helps
  4. you know looking at it closer satan it looks like it would work with no mods did u just try it? The windows on the z32 wheel look like they pretty much take the same path as the triggler windows for the z31. prolly just have to make the holes a lil bigger for mounting but that is pretty simple a dremel or two flat pieces of steel with the wheel sandwiched between would keep them straight. I did it the old fashon way and used small hand files.
  5. sorry didn't know it was made for it, i didn't read everything(im impatient) making the optical eye adjustable is very easy too there are bushings that prevent the plastic from being crushed i just pressed them out and i had more movement when i put the over sized wheel in. Could try that and see what happends.
  6. the z32 wheel and the rb wheel are the same size and are smaller than the z31 wheel so you could proilly easily swap the aem wheel into the z32 or rb cas. Now the next thing would be making the rb or z32 cas mount to the top of the z31 dizzy. I think that would be easier than making all the slots match on the new wheel.
  7. i love that baby eater hanging out of the hood good thing u saved her rob i would hate to see that u and the car went into the wall.
  8. sweet!! we are getting more and more guys.....slowly lol i love my e6k also and i have only had one problem with it and it was when i was trying to run my rb25 with the rb25 casIt ran flawlessly on my l28et. I got the prob ironed out now and she is a very happy camper
  9. here http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=125150
  10. jeff i have used them on the big trucks before and i got mine from a starter alt rebuild shop up here in bfe. might give a starter/alt shop a try if there is one close
  11. what do you have the setting on the haltech at for the ignition? you must have something a lil off if you can do it manually. Im not sure how the software looks on the e11 but on the e6k is has an option for distibutor or direct fire.
  12. thanks, oh yea got the struts on the back now and man does it ride good
  13. here is got a better pic after i repainted the wheels gloss black
  14. racinjitter can answer any uestion u got just search his name or he might chime in
  15. umm best with the stock turbo was 12.9@106mph 18psi had a volvo ic one of the plastic ones, had a stock clutch in it 370cc injs and street tires. The 12.8 was with the t3/t4 turbo and 500cc injs i coulda got better but after breaking the afm i decided to get the haltech.
  16. lol i do have a non turbo car jeff my 65 cuda isnt turbod yet i am planning on getting some adjustable camber plates soon. im gonna use my old franken turbo that is on my 76 now.
  17. i ran the zxt ecu for along time too after changing my injs twice (first time was 370cc second was 500cc injs) i ended up breaking the afm door cuz i had it wound so tight that it killed the rubber stoppers on the door. the best i got with the zxt stock electronics was a 12.8@110 mph at the track. i ended up going to a haltech ek6 and love it, its running my rb25det now. Im gonna see the limits of the stock n/a ecu and then move on to a MS 2 since they are relatively cheap and very adjustable.
  18. im just as baffled as u that is why i asked i know that the zx ecu handles the timing too as where the z has a stand alone ignition on the pass side of the car. im guessing that there are differences in the tuning between the two years, i will post my results good or bad since i have everything to turbo the car already and it wont cost anything to try again.
  19. i just got done turboharging my 2.2l sonoma and the stock computer handles it no problem and it has a map sensor. I did put on a fuel management unit to up the fuel pressure but it doesnt help much. If you get the zxt fuel injectors it will help too but it will run good on stock injs. I ran with the stock na electronics for along time and it started and ran great. If you not going to do this for a lil bit i will be doing mine very soon and u can see for your self.
  20. 2 in back 1 3/4 in front the new struts will lift the back up a little
