  1. its very easy to swap on a turbo just get a zxt exhaust manifold and turbo. You can adjust the fuel with the air flowmeter.I am going to do the exact same thing in a lil bit.
  2. thanks guys i really like this car cant wait to turbo it
  3. why not? i have had cut springs on the z for a long time and have had no probs at all. the zx is not very different and it still rides just fine.
  4. i cut the coils, did the same on my s30 about 3 years ago. the zx rides a lil different but it made a huge difference.
  5. here is a side pic, i get tons of looks before after just need the turbo and ic and this ar will be dun.... oh yea needs struts lol bouncy ride
  6. that looks nice, i have one of those headers its nice to see one on the engine in a first gen.
  7. very sweet stony, your z will now just barely beat my bike i run 9.37@150mph on my zx10r. what is the boost at when u are launchin?
  8. LOL it was very depressing actually i didn't want anyone to seeit like that glad i got it tho and my old wheels from my z looks sweet on it.
  9. lol its almost dun just a lil body work, paint and some carpet and shes dun. i stumbled on this car by accident and hadto bring her home cuda should totally dun by the end of next year
  10. hey guys i just posted in the no tech forum and hughdogz pointed me to here. here is my new addition, just picjed her up today,so now i got two zs here she is, gotta change the wheels tomorrow tho i had to save her my buddy was talking about taking her to the scrap yard. 100k miles still runs like a top everything works, just needed an ecu and alternator(buddy accidently hooked the batt up backwards when he tried starting it after being stored).
  11. thanks for the linky hugh i couldn't let the car goto the junk i had to rescue it
  12. just picked her up today, its an 83 my buddy bought it from an older lady that only drove it in the summer. He put the msa kit on it along with the wing and had it all repainted. After he repainted it he put it in the barn and accidently hooked the battery up backwards (couldn't see very well in the barn) well he fried the ecu and left it sit for over 3 years lettin the birds crap on it and dust collect(there was actually 2" of crap on the back window and part of a nest). I didn't get any pics of the bird crap dust covered car but here it is after i washed it . after putting the new ecu in it started right up, everything still works except for the alternator the reverse polarity killed it. So i just gotta get an alternator then she is set to go. I plan to put a turbo and the wheels from my 280z on it and prolly let my lady drive it.
  13. looking great jeff im glad u got her back together much nicer than when i was there
  14. sweet!!! I love the 140mph trap :)hey stony i have the same turbo for my rb30 build i was wondering how you liked it? and when boost started and hit full? i looked around and didnt see anything but then i coulda missed it, there isa ton of posts
  15. i had a turbo like that once....... i got it for 25 bucks from a semi lol the guy was gonna scrap it and i wanted it just to say look at what i got:) i ended up scrapping it myself thinking i would never useitfor anything.......... damn shoulda kept it
  16. lol i thought my welds looked like crap lol but it works very well i did ceramic coat the header and the turbine,dp ect so it looks much nicer painted
  17. i know this isn't a z but it has i guess u would call it the lungs of a nissan i took my old stock garret t3 from my L28et and finally used it again here is the outside now for the good stuff made my own manifold had to mod the lower rad line out of the block so the turbo could have an air cleaner i was just seeing if my t3/t4e franken turbo would fit on it.... and it does barely tell its back there most guys put the turbos in front of the engine replacing the fan. just a quick shot of the ic piping i put the ic in the engine bay for time being i am gonna move it out in front as soon as the ic pipe kit comes in. and a quick vid oh yea running 5 psi and i blew a hose off in the vid when i blow it up im going rb20det
  18. both my rb25det heads have 75t on them both are r33
  19. yea they would be like the 280yz kit but it would have some differences of course. I plan the buckets of course and i want to keep my insepction doors so i plan to cut those in as well. The sides will have a skirt kinda like an msa kit and the back i plan to put some mounting tabs on the inside so they can be mounted easily along with molding the side skirts into both front and rear. I am also going to make the msa bumpers i have 4 inches wider front and rear. i want the kit i make to be a street version of the race
  20. ok talked with my buddy and he is definately game to make some cf buckets. I am gonna have him make a set out of the scraps of cf he has to see how they are gonna pull and look. He is also interested in making the front fenders with buckets already molded in. We might be able to offer a whole kit with bumpers and side skirts once my car is finished. I will get a lot of pics when i start the making the new buckets and forming them in. I plan to make the new buckets tomorrow after my finish work on the molds is done(smoothing and filling)
  21. i will keep this updated as i get mine done, as i told kenny my buddy was estimating 200 to 250 or so for a set of CF buckets with good finish. He told me there has to be seams in the CF because of the shape of the bucket but he can hide them well. As for fenders those will be alot more for CF but for glass i am unsure of the price. For just a cf look it could be alot cheaper since the "look" is a cheaper material. As soon as i find out i will post it up.
  22. as many of you know the 280yz flares dont come with headlight buckets so i got a mold from my old metal ones so i can mold them right into the yz flares. I was thinking of making a mold of the finished front fenders to make some spares or sell em. I have a buddy that does carbon fiber and fiberglass work and he told me he can make either just the buckets or the whole fender if people showed enough intrest. I dont know the price but it all depends on what ppl want if they want fiberglass or just a light cf piece it's cheaper cuz he can use scraps. If ppl want a nice visual part then it will cost more cuz he has to use a whole piece of cf. I'll get more pics when i make my new buckets and get them grafted in.
  23. hey zedman it can be taken apart but it is difficult first you need to either press or tap out the pin holding the shaft to the drive. Then once that is off you will need to make something(i used a beam clamp as in the pics above) to pull the bearing. Then with your cas you will have to use vise grips or something to take the collar holding the trigger wheel in off of there, it might be possible to get it off in one piece i just didn't care so i bent mine. If you get it off in one piece then you will ust have to press it back on. In order to get the whole shaft out you will need to drill a hole in the plastic cover on the back side then use a punch to tap it out. The cas is now fully disassembled and ready for modding. Hope this helps
  24. head is welded and ground down now, i just need to get a rb30 head gasket to make the water port the right side then i'll reshape the port. I'll get pics to help anyone out that wanna see and raff i'll take out a loan:)) Also jitter my buddy has been busy but he has been working on the jun collars, i fixed the spoiler wing for his s 10 so maybe it will kick him in it butt to do more. If he does we will have jun collars for sale here in the states i think jitter and i agreed on 80 bucks or so.
  25. thanks alot rob i was wondering about that, when i do mine i'll take pics and post em up for anyone that wants to know.
