depends on the time of day you plan to come up and meet up.I am going to the track at 12:00 provided it doesn't rain.Then i'm going to chuckie cheeses with tara's niece and nephew i'll be there til 4 or 5 then the drive back to BA and i'm getting dressed up for a wedding one of my ex's are getting married i was good friends with her brother.Then i'll have time to relax i don't know what i'll do then.You could come up and hang at the track with me watch me run.Or bring the impala and make a few passes.Let me know

I got my check and said screw it i'm getting my new exhaust no matter what the woman says It should be done by the end of the business day i can't wait it's going to cost me about 140 with chrome exhaust tip 3"The rest of it is 3" also no muffler just strait thru if it's too loud and i get in alot of trouble i'll get a zero back pressure muffler.I'll let you know how it sounds after work.Now i can drop the car about 2" with the exhaust tucked onder the car instead of almost hitting the ground.

I searched for this and couldn't find any thing that would answer my question.Presuming the car can handle it what is the highest boost achieved on a stock turbo?I know scottie was getting 17 psi but has anyone gone higher or is the air too hot to be used effecently?I checked on some af gauges and that's going to be coming soon.But i know the voltages that are rich and lean so i'm going to check today.

I got the injectors in and it runs great.I checked the fuel pressure and at idle it runs at 30 psi and under boost at 16 psi it goes up to 50 psi and holds all the way.I was wondering if this is good or bad?But it goes up gradually thru the gears i'm guessing as the boost pressure in each gear goes up the higher the fuel pressure.It has great power all the way thru every gear it doesn't fall on it's face now when it gets up in the rpm range.I love it anyone looking for the same injectors the guy has 12 more and is looking to get rid of them.If you want i can hook you up with his email.

No tim i don't but i can check if anyone knows what the volt reading is for the O2 sensor on lean and rich mixtures?I can't afford a a/f meter right now unless someone has one for cheap.I think the ones i saw run like 200 bucks That's a bit pricy for me right now.

Thanks BLKMGK it made sense.I was just wondering if it was enough fuel?It does raise and lower according to the boost pressure and vacuum.So i know that's right.The fpr is a different one the cruched one just had too much pressure it would put out black smoke from idle all the way to redline kinda embarrising But now it's much better has a hell of alot more power especially in the higher rpm.

fraga for 500 bucks you can't really go wrong.I'd buy it if i had the cash.The turbo is probably bad if no body takes care of it then you get what i got when i bought my 81zxt for parts the turbo was really worn out.The turbine would move about a quarter inch up and down.It would smoke like crazy.Check the compression it will tell you if it has any problems with the pistons and rings.Hope this helps

Thanks for the warning tim i'm going to check before i run it alot with the new injectors.I'm getting them either sat or tuesday.I found some problems with the fuel system and i think the filter is hurting my flow.I'm planning on a k&n filter for the fuel.What do you run?I changed the fuel hoses and fixed the fitting coming out of the pump to the engine.

That made alot of sense thanks.You say it's capable of 5.6L at one bar so if you went higher the amount of ingested volume would be higher right?I'm just trying to see if i understood you completely.I think the only thing i've done that wasn't right was run high boost without enough fuel which is going to change really soon.Does anyone know what the O2 senso is suppose to read when it's running right?I'm going to hook up a volt meter to see if it's rich or lean for now til i get an a/f meter.

Thanx kevin,I can understand some of it just when he starts taking math to calculate stuff then i get lost.I'm much faster at picking things up with me seeing it not reading it.It's just harder for me to relate the info to common sense.I'm not thru the book yet and before the year is over i'll probably read it another time.I ask the questions like what turbo and all that cuz most guys have gone thru it and can have some insite on the turbos.I can see that it's all what i want that decides the turbo now but before the post i didn't know that you can get a turbo for certain spacifics(sp?)Thanks for the site 5.0 i'll check it out.I just didn't want all the guys to give up answering my questions.Get sick of me asking maybe the same question and i didn't realize they where the same kinda questions.I'm relieved to know that you guys will keep helping as long as i don't get stupid and do dumb stuff against your advice.That's why i got the new injectors coming i took timz's advice and upgraded the fuel system so no holes where burned in the pistons.I try to remember everything you guys say to me but some things slip by.If it's about a certain question then i remeber really well.I'm just like everyone else when they have so much going on it their life and trying to get time and mental free time for other things is hard.Anyway time to quit rambling.I'll check out airflow more now that i know what to look for first.

Thanks for the info guys.Is that the new sport compact car mag?Do you have that one issue drax?If so i'd buy it off of you we don't have sport compact car mags up here. Scottie if you say so you'd definately know about the cam thing.I'll get some other things instead like brakes and good springs and struts.I plan to lower the car as soon as the exhaust is moved so i can lower it.I don't know how to read maps and all that tech stuff i get lost just hearing it.If i had hands on then i learn much faster.I'm going for the wheels next scottie hopefully the traction thing will be close to solved.If not a whole lot better than it is now.I'll probably have to get drag radials.I'm learning as much as i can on my own but books only help me so much.I have mamimum boost and that's suppose to be the idiot guide(according to some people) and i'm still stumped on some things.I just ask that you guys don't get really impatient with me.I don't have a whole lot of time on the net either my old lady gets pissed when i'm on here too long.(5min is too ong for her)But i learn something new everyday especially on here.

Thanks for the warning sleeper.When i get them and test them i'll let you know how i tuned it.I think just the afm will adjust that much i used the afm to adjust the rich idle and it's working great so far.I have an all stock feul system except for the fuel pump.

Finally after numerous warnings from tim and others i grew balls and took my money from my g-friend and bought them the money went out today.Hopefully they will be here by friday if not oh well but as soon as i get them in i'm going to get it to run right and head to the track.Should i use the stock fpr on the new injectors?They are the ones scottieGNZ suggested the ones from the merkur turbo.

the gear display is at my g-friend's dad's store.I always play with it at the store and it does work good so far.It's alot easier to shift now and sounds much better while it's moving.Just wanted to update my post for those who are thinking of using it.

I got some yesterday cuz i ahd to change the lube in the trans.I told my g-friend's dad(owns a parts store)that i needed the best stuff he had.He came back with the lucas stuff and regular lube he said mix the stuff and put it in.I put in the lucas that stuff is like honey it's really sticky and slippery.It's made to put in the tranny ,diff and engine.I was going to try it in the engine but i didn't want to crew anything up.Anyone ever put it i their engine?So far in the tranny it makes a big difference it's easier to shift and alot of bad noises are gone.

I know your trying to save my engine tim.I was thinking could i use some secondary injectors?Mount them in the intake and have them fire when the boost gets up?Or would it just be easier to change the injectors?I don't think your bing a prick i know you've been there before and don't want anyone else to suffer finantually.I just got all blown away by your car and want to go fast.Ok ok i'll get more fuel before i get more boost

Oh ya what turbo should i get for my upgrade in the winter?I really don't want to buy another later so should i get a big one or just stick with a t4hybrid?

Finally the boost is where it should be.It would spike up to 15 then back down to 12 or 13 i was getting so pissed.Here is the story i was thinking i should unhook the wastegate hose and see what it does.So i do it and took it for a ride well it definately went up way up it was hitting 25psi before i could let my foot off the throttle and on the way back to the garage i babied it kept it under 10 psi so i wouldn't mess anything up.So i get home and change the restrictor in the line(i have a dial-a-boost that was maxxed out)at first i went bigger and i went slower about 10 psi in any gear then i thought ok the other way.So i use a rivet and take it for a ride better but still low 12psi.So i crush the end of the restrictor and take it for another dig holy $#!^ it hit 20 before i could let off so i backed it down it dropped to about 9psi so i was happy it was still adjustable.Turned it up til 15 and tried second and third it was boosting high so i backed it off.I haven't tried fourth or fifth yet but i will.It is so nice to have 15 in second and 12 in first.I'm going to change referance points on the wastegate so it will keep a constant pressure thru the gears.Now comes the injectors!and wheels from scottie

Hey lone star i messed with a turbo on my 5hp briggs engine on my racing go kart and at full throttle it would only make 1psi of bost and it was just enough to make the engine run.Chances are that it will make no difference unless you turn up the boost more.It sounds like a good idea i just thought that i'd tell you what i have expirenced with my turbo application.

The thing i'm worried about is the resivour where the gas goes in the tank then to the pump.Will the coating if too thick plug the holes in it?I wouldn't get fuel at all that's why i haven't done it myself yet i was worried about that and damaging something with chain and other things that could be put in the tank to loosen rust.

I've had to weld on a tank before and i'm still alive.I just cleaned it out like i did with the z tank and let it sit.I thought about it blowing up that's why i let it sit for a long while.If it does it again i'm going to take it to a shop to get cleaned and sealed.I still have to do a pressure check on it to see if it helped as much as it feels like it did.I have one more thing too,The fuel filter as suggested by 240 twin turbo i think it was him.The chain thing isn't a bad idea i might try that too.For now it will work for some time i think so if i have the rust problem again then i think i'll do it the right(expensive)way.I should hook up the vent hoses too,i unhooked them a while ago and should put them back on i can't fill the tank all the way cuz the air can't get out of the tank for the fuel to get in.

Well after the ride from the metro area detroit home which is about 2 hours from the z meet.I decided that the fumes from the exhaust where too much to handle anymore.So i decided to fix the big rust hole in the rear quarter behind the passenger back wheel.I had to take off the bumper to get to the hole and of course i had to drop the tank to do that.So i dropped it and heard some noises inside like something scraping and i knew exactly what it was.When i had first got the car it wouldn't run for crap it would but then die well it turned out to be the tank it had a whole crap load of rust loose moving around and plugging the resivour for the fuel to the pump.So i cleaned it a long time ago not that great but it worked.Well i knew it was the case again so i drained all the fuel in a can and filtered it all as it went to the gas can and it plugged the filter up baout three times!I only had about 2 gallons of fuel in the tank.The gas was all drained but there was still alot of rust left so i dried it with an air hose and let it ist while i did the body work(which looks really good)and came back to the tank i shook it sournd and banged on the tank breaking loose all the rust then i shook it to make the rust fall out.After a while i got tired and no more would come out but i could still see it.I looked for a better way then saw the shop vac bingo turned it on and got a wole lot more by sticking it in there as far as it would go.Now that the tank was clean i looked over everything else and saw the fuel line from the tank to the pump kinked a little and it was petrafied(sp?) so i got some new line and put it on it was alot more flexable and stronger.I looked over the pump too and saw that the side feeding the engine had the nossle turned alittle and it was blocking the hole inside restricting flow.So i loosened up the bolt and turned the nossle so it was all the way clear of any obstruction.Put it all back together and it feels MUCH better i haven't got a chance to really take it to the limit but just from what i could tell from driving around yesterday and today i like it.(still not even close to tim z)But it still feels quick to me.The injectors are going in anyway but now i shouldn't have a fuel problem with the new injectors.I left off the back bumper too man that thing was heavy.I'll get to the 11's some day.

I agree i have the stock system and if i could do it again would of gotten an after market one.Hey drax what did the sds cost?I'm looking at changing it all out igniton and efi.
